Well, instead of jumping on the critic rant sheet the day it came out I decided to really put effort into gameplay and experience as much as I could and then comment on my likes and dislikes.

After all the hype, I think I'd give the game a B/B- and here's why:

1) NPC dialogue get's very tiresome and repetitive after a while.
2) Don't like the fact NPC's in town follow and nag you. They also seem to have faulty collission detection and block your way a lot of the time especially within buildings.
3) While I like the idea of having teh decoration/furniture mechanic introduced in the game...I'm not sure it was implemented correctly, but I do realize this isn't nor should it be the focus of my gripes or the game itself.
4) Invisble walls and 'pathing' boundries are irksome to me. I don't understand a game that says you can do anything has even the most simplist of limitations when it comes to the environment. I can 'vault' some areas, where I can't 'vault' others. In some areas I can walk all around, and yet others it seems a knee high shrub dictates that I cannot walk off a path. There are numerous instances I cannot fathom why I can break down this door, but not that door? Why can I swim here and not there? Why can I walk on this beach, but not that beach?
5) Gargoyles...Neat concept, neat sense of completetion for achievement, horrible implemenation and also repetitive dialogue. Why are there a gargoyles iniside locked homes above staircases and stores?
6) Frustrating co-op camera controls. Maybe I am an r-tard, but having to hit LB to reset camera every few seconds because of friends movement to reset viewpoint can be frustrating.
7) Disapearing or buggy NPC's.
8) Again, it may be just me....but it always seems like it's night time 60% of the time, and light 40%.
9) Character customization (clothing options, colors, hair styles, tattoos) seems limited to me.
10) Getting fat so easily seems wonky, especially if I walk/run/fight everywhere.
11) Why are there no horses in Albion to ride, but apparantly self powered carts?

Now I enjoy the game, I really do despite my list above, but I don't think it's everything Peter M made it out to be. I suppose I was expecting more and I'm surprised at the amount of atcual limits within the world.

As far as the Fable games go, the lost chapters version of the original was the best simply because it took a minimum of about 13 hours to beat once you've played through about 7 times and found out that all you need is slow time and multi arrow to finnish the game entirely without losing any health. Fable 2 had a good thing going for it when they put in the childeren amongst the townspeople you kill just for kicks, but they screwed up. You cant kill or sacrifice the childeren, I mean seriously first time I saw the 15 childeren running around in the starter area I swear to whatever higher power you may or may not happen to worship that I said outloud "I'm totally going to kill me some kiddies." But much to my displeasure the turn off safety feature (pissed me off) didnt allow you to cause harm to childeren, so I just decided to kill all of their parents in front of them. As for what I said about completion time I spent way under 13 hours doing the actual main quest in between my random killing of the townspeople who had the audacity to not have a red heart over their
head.
I've noticed a lot of people getting irritated at your inability to kill children. Think about it. If they allowed you murder and or sacrifice children, do you know how much flak they would get? How fast that game would not get released?
True but you also have to think about all of the people who do the hardcore evil thing or the people like me who just kill everyone they see once the story gets to a boring part.

Also why would anyone choose the money option if they are already evil enough to go for it? I personally went as full on evil the first time around and was making enough gold to buy the castle every 30 mins. (I wanted my dog back lol.) Not to mention that by the time I finnished doing the quest and bought everything I decided to just go and set them all to the lowest rent possible without it becomming free and still wound up with well over 2 mil with nothing to spend it on since all of my abilities were pretty much maxed at that point from my civillian killing sprees.
While some people may view your mindless violence as simple mindless violent entertainment, or sociopathic murderous entertainment, other people will assume it's because of a desire of you wanting to rape and murder children.

And yeah, nobody ever said Fable II was *hard*.
Good point, but Yahtzee thought so to. lol
And Yahtzee isn't a phyco? :)
Well lets face it everyone is a psycho, if you do or don't want to admit it doesnt mean anything. The only reason I brought him up was becaue he is the only critic that I tend to agree with the opinion of more than 80% of the time. Of course that only counts on the games that I've played.
