Well, to be honest, both console and PC have advantages. But I'm going to argue for PC gaming.

FPS. This is always better on the PC, control-wise. No matter how great you are with a controller, you will always be owned when your opponet is using a mouse. Also, remember that some console FPS have auto-aiming and aiming assist.

RTS. Better controls. Also PC games tend to have more patience. Forget Halo Wars, because you can't save during a mission. Save-Anywhere is a MUST for RTS games.

As for the rest, controls work as good as the other. Platform games and Fighting games are easier with a controler though, or gamepad.

Okay now for a bit of explanation. I grew up with Wolfenstein 3d, Doom, and Super Mario. I will always enjoy games on PC and Consoles.

In PC gaming, all games are retroactive. Backwards compatibility. For Everything. Thanks to DOSbox.

Expense. Consoles are cheaper, blah blah blah. Only to a point. I paid 1800 total for my PC in november 2007, and I use it for everything. 400 for 25" monitor, 200 for speakers and soudn card. 1200 for tower. Including 465 dollars for my Video card. Don't comment on that, because the video card was worth EVERY fucking penny.
Okay, Consoles are far cheaper, but that's because you don't use it for everything.

I use it for hours everyday. Also to Watch movies and TV. Use it for work.

We need less cross-platform games. Before, PC and Consoles both had their games, good and bad. But it seemed the best on both really stood out. Now the best that are cross-platform, like Bioshock, are lacking.

I'd rather have a game built for PC, another built for Console, have them cater to both like solid gold. You know, back before 2000. Instead, now of we get one that gives us Silver. We like silver, and we aren't going to say no to silver, but it could have been better.

It seems like in trying to please everybody, more games are falling short.

PC gaming is better as a whole, but I will always love consoles.

Also, tell me if you understand this. Bioshock is a casual game disguised as a hardcore game.
Must be why I found it so boring.

EDIT: Sorry, this reads more like a rant. Please argue why the points I made are not valid. Or come up with some of your own. Or Argue that Consoles are better.
1. I am better at FPSs on a console
2. I don't like RTSs
3. Console emulaters are illegal. PCs are not backwards compatible with everything, legally. I don't like to break the law.
4. I'm a social gamer. Its easier for me to grab a box, go into the dorm lounge, and play video games with hot chicks. (Yes, I do get to play video games with a gaggle of cute girls.
This may or may not have anything to do with my being at a women's college.)
5. That's purely your opinion.
6. This is also your opinion.
7. Yes, I understand this.
8. Your opinion agian.

To reply to this, I make a quote:
Internet Kraken said:
PC gaming=fun
Console gaming=fun
The point of videogames=To have fun.

I'd say that they are both good because of that.
Because I have more fun with consoles, your argument that PC gaming is better is entirely invalid.
You know why?
Because you're talking about gaming as a whole. When you make a statement about something in its entirety, and there's even one exception, then your argument is invalid.

... Or do you want to argue that the point of video games isn't having fun?

(OK, its official. That logic course has made me a better geek.
Also, logic was taught to me by a Pastor.)

I had typed up a really flame tastic response in favour of being a PC elitist, but I decided to not post it.

I'll just say.

PCs MAKE consoles, not the other way around.

Everyone here, everyone who games, console or otherwise, owe that to PCs.

That is all.

Elitists tend to be superior only in their own heads. The rest think their heads are simply deep up their asses.

I agree that WASD+Mouse is most natural for FPS's, so PC elitists are justified in that sense.
What I CAN'T stand are console elistist. Really, this is think of them when they are talking:

Epic. anyway. [HEADING=1]FLAMEBAIT![/HEADING]

this is how I see it:

FPS: PC
Platform: Console
RTS: PC
Racing sim: Console
RPG: either
Fighting: Console

over all console has a larger range but as I prefer FPS over most I got a gaming PC over a PS3. I might get a PS3 for Gran Turismo 5

I like the custom-ness feel to my PC since I built it myself
I still love playing Gran Turismo 4 on my PS2
It all depends what you like to play.

In my opinion the WASD and mouse for FPS will always beat controllers. Yes there are many consolers that cant use a mouse for shit and prefer playing with their joystick, but give a month or two to learn with mouse and they will get there. I have consoler friends who can completely destroy me on console FPS and can hardly compare with me on PC FPS. Its mostly down to what you are used to but I think a mouse will always allow for easier advancement with skill where a controller will hit a wall
