Why the hate on W+M1?

Ok, so I've played TF2 about a total of ten rounds, during the very brief period of time that my 360 was actually hooked up to the internet, and yes, I'm aware that "W+M1" is a term that references keyboard/mouse. My question, however, is why people complain about "W+M1 Pyros?" How is it cheap to walk and fire at the same time? So they're not using strategy or skill... why would they need to if they can clear the battlefield by just walking and attacking?

More and more, I've seen a lot of hate going for "W+M1 Pyros," but even as somebody who does not really play as the Pyro class even when I did play, how the hell ELSE do you use a Pyro, or just about any character, for that matter?

Well, some people play so hard on one class and claim themselves to be 'good' then are torn down by a pyro effortlessly in seconds. If you're a 'good' player you can avert them.

Think of it, Spy usually S+M1's
Scouts usually W+M1 when harrasing and going in for a killing shot
Heavy M+M1's when moving in and firing
Medics W+M1 folling thier paitent. Ect.

Everyone does the W+M1 phrase in some way, but people tag it on pyros and hate them since they can kill things quickly and easily by burning them down, with no effort at all. Pyro is generally a class you need no paitence to learn, it's not brilliantly hard to master, but there is a learning curve.

I love it, it makes Pyro's simple sniper fodder. Remember guys, never run in a straight line, you'll regret it.

People get pissed off when they die. They die when a pyro gets close to them and flames them. This is what the pyro is meant to do.

Uh, guys, can somebody tell me, what those S+M1 W+M and shit excatly mean?
Default controls for movement are WASD, W/S for forward/backward and A/D for left and right and M1 is mouse1 (usually left button on standard two-button) which is usually fire.

Simple movements, while valid in some cases, no valid when ignoring the obvious limitations of the current weaponary/tool in favour of the more effective. For Pyros this would be using the flamer for everything even an opponent who's running away outside the range of the fire and ignoring the range of the shotgun/flaregun or back-up of the axes.

That is referring to Pyros that use the Backburner and run straight towards battle holding down M1. People complain because the Backburner is an ambush weapon, and those Pyros should be using the default weapon, which has pyroblast, an important strategic tool.
But why SHOULD they, if they find that they operate better with the Backburner? People fighting the Pyro shouldn't complain if, by using the Backburner, they are sacrificing "an important strategic tool." For the person controlling the Pyro, if they can clear the battlefield with the Backburner, then what more of "an important strategic tool" do they need?

Because they're too stupid to not notice a SHORT RANGE and obvious attack heading toward them, which is furthermore a massive bright flame. I got accused of hacking as a pyro once, I thank christ no one in the Escapist TF2 group is like that.

Get killed by a pyro? Learn from your mistake, that's why there's a kill cam.

Because W+M1 requires only the ability to push buttons and breathe.
Which other classes have lower health so it's annoying to get killed when focusing on a more important objective rather then just burning everything insight hoping to get a kill.

its the one that does the air blast, right?

I dont see how peopel would complain about it to be honest, maybe those who got knocked off the level because of it would find reasons, but really, you can blow back rockets with it, sounds more like a defensive weapon/offensive weapon over all.
It's because W+M1 pyros tend to be of little use to the team and are just taking up a space that could be used by someone better.

I suppose people facing a W+M1 pyro could complain if they were looking for an actual challenge, but still.

W+M1 pyros I can stand.

Spamming demomen however...
One demoman tactic is to hold down a bottleneck with stickies and grenades, so if that's what you mean, then that's just a demoman doing his job.

People who are no good at the game complain about "W+M1 NUB1!!", if a pyro is doing that, then just kill them until they learn to use better tactics, its not hard, well unless your a spy then your screwed.

Scenario: me: pyro vs demo

I first flare gun the demoman, setting him on fire. I move in, reflecting the stickies he throws at me. I'm right near him now, about to hit him with a crit axe when...

Boom. Dead. One wild pipebomb is enough to kill me even though I was clearly outplaying him. It's hard to miss. He gets a healthpack and survives until the next encounter.

Soldier, advance, firing a rocket at his feet to juggle him, avoiding the stickies to my right when.

Boom. Dead. A lone crit sticky instantly kills me even though it's nowhere near me and I took pains to avoid it.

It only gets worse when there's more than one of them.

The w+m1 pyro is pretty effective versus pubbies.
A good/better pyro at least uses his shotgun or flaregun to harres/finish people off; and fire>puff>axetinguisher is a way faster kill whan pure flaming vs the higher health classes and it also disorientates people so you get less damage
The most important thing a pyro can do is airblast kritz projectiles and ubers away, sure you will probably die but if that saved your demo/medic combo it is almost always worth it (teamplay)
