That is from languages that apply gender to inanimate objects, like Spanish.

It's not a huge stretch of the imagination to assume some features of their language would be assimilated into English, despite crying English nerds who are in misery because language is a constantly progressing idea and we don't speak in Ye Olde English anymore.
The tradition of gendered vehicles goes way back before people who "Seem to run here faster than they can reproduce there" (great thing about being quoted is you see the original post pre-edits).

There really is no known reason. It may have come from proto-Indo-European, or it may have come about some other way. It definitely didn't come from Mexicans.

Well around christmas I saw many many cars with antlers attached to them and a red cap type thing over the cars logo at the front. It was the stupisest thing I've ever seen people do to a car. Second actually, I have seen a car with a camoflauge paint job (the white type not the green).

Yeah, I often see people doing stupid things. It's amazingly common to see a holden commadore (some of the higher end models are marketed overseas as Pontiac or Vauxhall) with Chevrolet badges...What the fuck? Not only do we not have chevies in Australia, it costs some $50 to get the badge, and it isn't badged as a Chevrolet anywhere in the world, seriously, what the fuck :S

here is an example: "wij gaan het doen op met een nederlands aanpak de "dutch aproach"
trans: "we are going to do this with a dutch aproach "de Nederlandse aanpak" it just sounds stupid and its made even worse by the terrible accent that aal dutch politicians have when they try too speak english, this isnt the first and only time somebody did this

I knew a bloke who thought he was a cowboy (you live in Yorkshire, England, we don't have cowboys) so he wore the boots and the hat and bought this old pick up truck to which he attached a Morning Star (see, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morning_star_%28weapon%29 for details) that hung probably where the aforementioned testicles were. Three weeks later someone crashed into the back of him whilst he was waiting at some traffic lights, but as he had an illegal modification on his pick up his insurance didn't cover it!

The last time I had reacted like this-
Two of my high school mates (now my ex mates) came over to my house to hang out in my room. My mum call me for lunch so I was be right back.
After lunch I found those two idiots raided my drawers and put my stuff onto my soft toys (I used to have quite a few as a kid). The worst part is that they used my Simpsons stickers onto my brother sexy women poster (me and my bro share the room).
They were laughing their arse off while I went nuts. I was fully aware that those stickers are really sticky so it was no surprise that bits of the poster were torn off when I try to remove the stickers. Seriously, why??? (To them they needed humours as if it was oxygen.) Anyway I force them to pay up for my bro damage posters and I no longer keep in touch with them.

The metal balls thing don't get a positive or negative reaction out of me, when I see them I just think: "isn't he going to get in trouble with someone?" or "How does he expect anyone to take him seriously?" and a few other curiosities. I don't see them much at all but the last time I saw them was in my high school parking lot and thats when I first thought "isn't he going to get in trouble with someone?" since cars got inspected pretty often in my school. They focused so much on what was in people's cars that they overlooked what people brought in.

The one thing I can think of that angers me is parents who take their kids to the supermarket and then send their kids to do the shopping while they go stand in line at the cashier. I get that these people want to save time and that it could work, but the children invariably don't know the layout of the supermarket well enough. This always leads to the parents yelling at the children for not being able to find what they were sent to find or bringing back the wrong brand of a product. The scene they cause is disruptive enough in itself, but I think it's entirely unacceptable to treat your children like slaves and then berate them for not knowing what brand detergent you always use or something along those lines.
Wow, I've never seen that happen. Those are some lazy fucking parents.

How do you respond when that happens in front of you?
Unfortunately, all three times I've seen that happen, they were foreigners who spoke a language I don't understand and didn't seem to understand me when I addressed them in Dutch or English. The one time I was still going through the supermarket myself, I helped the kids find what they needed. The other two times, I'm ashamed to say I didn't bother doing anything more after the parents didn't seem to understand me. I'm not gonna pretend I'm a good person...

People who try to apply a bigger meaning behind something when there is no actual bigger meaning there. I find cases like this when people review specific characters from a book and try to make out the characters are advanced philosophical beings when they're not. One time when I watched the movie Grimm Love which is based around some middle aged lonely guys, one who wants to be eaten, one who wants to eat. Basically it is told from the perspective of a University student, and she frequently tries to justify the actions and murder of these two sick people, which ended up getting ridiculous, they were just sickos who liked sick torture crap. There is no deeper meaning behind it.

Also, adult men in their forties who are obsessed with guns. It is just sad, and I don't mean they have one which they use every now and again. I mean the people who have over four guns and go out hunting once or twice a week even though they don't live in a rural area. The kind of people who neglect their family, friends and life because they want to go out and shoot guns.

That's just... ugh. If I ever met anyone with one of those, I'd refuse to ride in their car/truck.
