Okay, here's what I can't understand.
Say a company brings out a game and it goes onto all 3 consoles. Now people will almost immediately go for the Xbox or Playstation version while refusing to touch the Nintendo version. I mean, what's the big deal?
Take for example the Call of Duty: World at War game. It came out for all 3 systems but people immediately hated the Wii version. Why? Most likely because it did not contain two small parts that were featured in the other versions. Is it only these small bits irrelevant to primary gameplay that keep people from getting the Wii version of popular games?

It's because almost all Wii ports are universally lazy, as in their controls aren't as tight as their 360 and PS3 counterparts. Oh and the lack of multiplayer isn't some small thing, it add hundreds of hours of playtime to the game.

I spent 6 hours playing the single-player on CoD4, and I've spent days in total time playing the multi-player, same with a lot of other games, I don't think the multi-player is a small part at all.

Oh, yeah, and that the Wii controls can be wonky when it's a port (see Resi 4).

It's usually sloppy motion controls and graphics.

Since the Wii has less graphics-wise, you have do develop a game's graphics specifically for it, or at least do more than what they're doing right now.

Bad graphics, lack of HD support, poor controls, lack of multiplayer...

Did you actually ask why?

Yeah it's mainly because of controls, graphics, and just the things they've taken out of the games. I've played the CoD WaW one and it's really bad. The controls have to be the main reason.
I've played games for both Xbox and Nintendo and had the same troubles on both systems based on controls, I jus don't let controls or graphics or anything else stand in the way of actually playing and enjoying the game itself.

How can you not let controls get in the way of playing something?

Yes I asked why.
As in 'why should you care about graphics or multiplayer when you should be just enjoying a game?'
If everyone had a huge petpeeve with graphics in games then every game would still be on the shelves because I've seen the games for all 3 systems and every one of these has some sort of problem with grpahics.
And I've never really liked multiplayer, the playing screens were too small and there always seems to be a problem when it comes to weapons, for example, In CoD:WaW, I could toss a grenade, it land 10 feet from my opponent and they would only suffer a slight sliver of health, but should the CP or another player do the exact same thing, then I die instantly.

I've personally never played a game that did not have some control problems at least more than once during gameplay, but I did not let that stand in the way of me enjoying the game, I simply took it as another challenge to the game.

I've only recently stumbled into console gaming after PC gaming for a while, and I did this via the Wii. I enjoyed the fact that 1. it's enjoyable and 2. it's affordable. I don't care about graphics, I have fun swashbuckling through combat and working out what frantic movements make a combo. I guess I'm not a hardcore gamer but I have few complaints for the Wii. It does have wireless access for updates and downloads. I've seen someone playing a Playstation 3, but I'm only looking for enjoyment, not spending $800 for pretty presentation or realism - and that's before buying a game (which retail at about $100).

You're my kind of people, those who could care less about graphics or appearance and just get a game to enjoy playing it rather than getting it for how 'real' it looks or how smoothly it runs.

Because you can't enjoy a half-ass game that looks like ass, mate. I'm not saying that every game should be ultra realistic in design or anything like that; I LOVE Okami. I take away points when a game just looks awful, like in the case of CoD WaW.

Further, CoD is inarguably tied to multiplayer. Yanking it away from it for the sake of awful motion controls and bad graphics confounds me. Let's face, mutliplayer MAKES CoD games (generally speaking, as Modern Warfare's single player wasn't all that bad).

Pro tip: Your not liking multiplayer is not a valid point.

Edit: Also, the controls really do suck. Are you trying to make a point? I think its clear that there's nothing really good about this game, or inherently about Wii games in general; Just because a game has motion controls DOES NOT MAKE IT A GOOD GAME. Some games use it well, and these games I applaud, but hardly ALL of the poorly made buggers.

Well, maybe you can't enoy a game like that but at least I can. And I don't hate CoD for having multiplayer but rather how the physics work when I play almost any multiplayer game.

And for the sake of arguement, your not liking bad controls is not a valid point.

If you can enjoy a game like that, then you have absurdly low standards and perhaps your opinion on this matter should not be taken all too seriously.

My not liking bad controls not valid? There is not argument in this statement. Just pure idiocy. Maybe I should make this clear. If the medium through which the player interacts with the game is poorly made, unintuitive, finicky, and laughable, then the game suffers as a result, end of story.

On second thought, it may be better off that there is no multiplayer.

MY opinion is all about why people put so much emphasis on graphics, controls, or any small part of a game and do not actually take the time to enjoy a game, no matter how bad it is. So what if I have low standards for games, it doesn't really matter, I don't play games for the better part of my life like many people do.
I play games for enjoyment, as long as I'm entertained and the game physics don't cause me to throw the controller at the screen, then it means that I am actually enjoying playing it.

I actually loved COD WAW on the Wii. The Zapper controls worked and the graphics were very impressive for a 3rd party game. Online was also pretty smooth.

Put emphasis on 'small' parts of a game? Enjoy a game no matter how bad it is? Enjoy a bad game? Honestly, do you listen to youself? What about that makes any sense in the least?

1. These 'small parts' directly affect the quality of the game. As such, if all of them are rather bad, then it is safe to say the game itself is bad.

2. I, for one, don't enjoy bad games for much the same reason I don't enjoy anything else of poor quality. If the game's bad then there's really not anything to enjoy about it. If all the individual parts are bad, then the the game as a whole is bad.

I could make the same argument about a car. A car that is severely dented, has poor breaks, no stereo, has terribly uncomortable seats, a engine in dire shape, and a leak in the gas tank canNOT be considered a good car, nor fun to drive.

Honestly, this is pathetic. I wash my hands of this silliness.

I meant enjoy a game and not hate it for it faults such as graphics or controls. And it is pretty shallow of you to only look into a game's visual qualities or controls rather than the things that actually matter, such as a story, characters, etc., the things in the game rather than the things that limit it.
