Alot of people (around my age group, 17-19) think they're poor if they don't have the top HD consoles (And some take it WAY too seriously). I somewhat understand the logic behind this statement cause, the Wii is the cheapest 7th gen console and overall its new releases are $10 cheaper than its competitors. And the library of Wii games appealing to the average crowd is unbalanced. (bunch of mario spinoffs, and foreign game titles from japan,)
On the other hand, depending on your video game taste you may get more for your money. The Wii has the most plat-former games, fighting wise SSBB is still the hottest game on the WII only downside for newcomers is that you have to be a Nintendo/Sonic fan.
maybe these people that only have a wii as a next gen console didn't realize that the game are mostly first party. Or maybe the hype of the wiimote and nunchuck mechanics already had them sold.
Regardless of these theories, my point is Video games shouldn't really label your social class you have far more important things that should be on that list. And Wii only owners or even people who dont have Next gen consoles shouldn't be ashamed, I'm sure you weren't considered poor when you had your ps2's, xbox's, and game-cubes. But if you still think your poor then just sell your wii get a summer job and get your 360's, problem solved.
