[HEADING=2]Welcome to the REALLY Wild Wasteland[/HEADING]

This ought to be easier to do the second time around, I hope. Long story short, folks, my crew of large up in the Wild Wasteland Fallout game RP is getting a bit light in its player numbers. So, I'm here to recruit YOU, the Escapist public, for a new selection in characters. You will be among some strange people and into weird plots.

Everything you need to know about characters and the story is here! [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/540.386465-A-REALLY-Wild-Wasteland-The-Fallout-RP]

However, I WILL summarize just a little to get you up to speed.

It all began with the reappearance of the Enclave out from somewhere west of the BoS Citadel and Capital Wastelands (between that and Legion territory, apparently) where it has been learned that their main weapons development base has initiated a coup in order to pt the mysterious Number One in charge and that they are now recruiting to bolster their numbers.

During this time, there have been numerous Enclave sightings and happenings, but nothing so overt as trying to take over the countryside...apparently. Looks like they're trying to get people on their side again, but that's actually taken a back seat to a couple of other weird problems. It seems that the super mutant population is going through some weird mutations and a number of ghouls have been acting...weird, like out of their gourd weird.

We dunno what's up with the ghouls, but the BoS has had to mobilize now because of a sudden upsurge in Super Mutant Behemoths, and apparently a mad scientist simply called 'The Doc' is responsible for the odd mutations AND them. What does this mean? It means there's a madman out there able to make giants.

Also happening: A powerful red Glowing One is wandering around, there's a small-scale Liberty Prime, special Enclave agents from the 'Fallout Sector' are about, something's wrong with the Nuka Cola, and apparently...it's going to rain.

Questions? Comments? Death threats?

NAME: Character name.
AGE: Charactrer age.
GENDER: Man, woman, both, or neither?
RACE: Different races apply. You could be human, super mutant, animal, alien, Gary, etc. I'll entertain fun ideas.
APPEARANCE: Please be descriptive enough to paint me a solid picture of your character, or use a picture.
PERSONALITY: Please paint me a good picture of their psyche and usual reactions to things. (Picture doesn't apply here.)
WEAPONS: Nice toys, within reason. Make it make sense for your character. (No in-game specials. The Lone Wanderer found them all.)
ITEMS: Again, stuff that makes sense for you. Regular stuff (like ammo) we figure you have and don't have to list it, but let's be reasonable.
PERKS/TRAITS/SKILLS: All stuff listed here will be considered open-mindedly, so feel free to post what you think works for the character.
TRANSPORTATION: Optional. How do you get around?

There's no personal history here because we've had more fun building that up while in-game after I forgot the first time. Be mindful of the fact that whatever fun ideas you come up with when applying, I might have to discuss and plot with you for a bit. This is normal. Do not panic...yet.

Rain! Oh no! I like the sounds of this. If you can post the sheet template. Like what perks are allowed, and what types of characters would be nice. Let me know and I'll work on a sheet and I'll submit it here.

I present my submission!

Name: Dan Halder
Age: 25

Gender: Male

Appearance: Dan stands at a towering 6?11, heads and shoulders over most people and questioning some to wonder if he wasn?t some sort of Super Mutant that looked human. Despite his height Dan is in fact human, his bright blue eyes are the things that people notice after they get over Dan?s height. He keeps his chestnut hair short but because he cuts it himself most of the time it?s uneven and rough in places. To go along with his massive height he also has a wide, muscular frame that creates an imposing figure. His back carries large scars from a barehanded fight with a Yao Gui that he tried to run from when he started to lose. He also carries a set of three scars on his face from that fight. He wears a set of Gecko backed metal armour.

Personality: Dan is the kind of man that punches things first to get people to answer a question at a later date. While he does not see violence as a first resort for every situation it is usually something that appeals to him more rather than coaxing something out of someone or sneaking around. He is not smart by any means but he isn?t so stupid that he has trouble understanding what is going on. He can usually understand things if they are explained to him in layman?s terms and he has a basic understanding of reading and writing. He is also a survivalist, but he doesn?t leave people behind if he can help it and still get away mostly intact. He doesn?t take stuff forcefully from people and he doesn?t take from people who need things more than he does. If he does see others picking on the weak he will usually lend a hand if only to take from the aggressors.

Weapons: Dan prefers to use a Sledgehammer for close range combat but he is willing to use his massive fists if needed, as his massive frame allows him to use melee weapons with relative ease. He also carries a Hunting Rifle for long rage though he isn?t opposed to carrying a massive minigun every now and then if he has the strength.

Items: Dan always has a couple bottles of water with him as you never know when you will find fresh water. He carries a couple of stimpacks, a bottle of Med-X, and a couple of packs of RadAway. He also carries around bottle caps and a pre way coin that he likes to flip when bored. He also carries a change of clothes in the form of a pink pre-war tank top, and jeans.

Perks: Strong Back and Super Slam

Skills: Guns, Unarmed and Melee Weapons.

Trait: Heavy Handed

Transportation: His own two feet. Dan prefers to walk under his own power, not trusting most machines or animals to be able to carry his massive frame.

NAME: Jackson Badass Murphy

AGE: Not quite sure.

GENDER: Male last time he checked. Though it has been awhile, and ghouls do have a tendency to... 'lose parts.'

RACE: Ghoul

APPEARANCE: Before the war, he was a large black man, and he at least managed to keep one of those things true about himself, as he stands at around 6'2, with a muscular build, as most soldiers have. His skin is patchy, but he has managed to keep a goatee! Unfortunately he lost his head of hair, but small victories, right? His clothing consists of a pre-war suit minus the tie, with combat armor over it.

PERSONALITY: He plays the sad role of a sarcastic cynic, though he plays it well he thinks. For the most part, he is prone to shrugging and moving on instead of facing hardship head on. That fact makes it so he has to travel alot, which he has, going so far as to say he has traveled all of what used to be America. He used to be an engineer, and kept the skills needed.

WEAPONS: A Chinese Assault rifle he scavenged awhile ago, and a combat knife he's had since his days as a soldier.

ITEMS: A pack of cigarettes, and a dog collar he wears around his arm. Thus his middle name.

PERKS/TRAITS/SKILLS: Trigger Discipline, Jury Rigging, and Terrifying Presence. He is proficient with guns and repairs.

TRANSPORTATION: An old Jeep he's managed to keep going. He isn't a fan of hoofing it.

Do I feel like running wild in the land of wastes and worries? Hm... Why not? I think it's time for a ghoulish entrance then.
<spoiler=Forest Borrt-Raynoson>
NAME:Forest Borrt (Assumed)
AGE:200-350 years(?)
GENDER:Male
RACE:Ghoul
APPEARANCE:Wearing once white-ish light blue combat armor (Variation Anchorage Operation), now covered with a layer of dust, marks, and scuffs like the roads he wanders.
A tad yellow, tinged with areas of red fleshy goodness, he is typical in what you'd consider a healthy ghoul to look.
His face isn't much to talk about and it has seen its years, but it still holds an almost endearing structure past the deterioration. Bald as the day you were born, with eyes a clouded brown, still has surprisingly good teeth with waste land standards.
PERSONALITY:Like your standard old and crotchety man, i.e "get off my lawn, things were better in the old days, etc. etc. etc." Forest quite often has moments of that, blaming and often mixing his exact age.
While his memories may be worse for wear he still is sharp as a tack, if that tack is 6 inches long and can shank a man.
If ever asked upon the old days and old ways, he waves it off for those he consider young, saying, "That time has past."
His reactions towards any and every one is equal to how they treat him, if you are nice he is nice, if he thinks you're an ass, he'll treat you as such. Rarely can his mind be dissuaded otherwise, save for trials by combat, or saving his hide (along with other significant moments).

Wise enough to know when to fight or flight, his sense of right and wrong can be rather skewed. Believing in personal freedoms he does not abide slavery, yet cares less about thievery and other vices (gambling, prostitution, drug dealing, etc.) unless they involve him, or immediate survival.
Dislikes the Legion for being to strict, dislikes the NCR for being to loose, and most of all hates feral ghouls, Enclave, Brotherhood, and any faction asides from independent, and the Followers.
WEAPONS:
-Gauss Rifle
-Laser Rifle (Beam Splitter)
-.44 Mag. Rev.
-Combat Knife
-Dip Pen (Steel and black)
ITEMS:
-Water proof sheets/covers x3 (1 (big) for a blanket, 2 (small) for the weapons, colored black, non-reflective)
-3 Canteens (Roughly a Galleon between the three)
-Misc. Food (Snacks, fruit, irr., purified)
-240 Caps, 500 NCR
-Matches (x10) and Lighter (low on fuel)
-x5 Sticks of Dynamite
-Blanket
All rolled up in to a duffel bag.
PERKS/TRAITS/SKILLS:Energy Weapons, Repair, and Explosives are his primary skills, with minor knowledge in medical, conventional fire arms, and science. Knows what he knows gleaned over time with anything else, and at least has a basic understanding of them.
Not strong, but fast, and perceptive.
-Can Jury Rig, and make Ammo/Cells well enough
-Is healed and immune by radiation to degrees (Obviously)
-Can make some nice things that explode
TRANSPORTATION:He rides a giant mechanical dog hybrid the size of a war horse! (Derp =P N/a)

How many rp'ers are you looking for, out of curiosity?
Currently churning out a sheet.
EDIT: Completed. Criticism welcome. I wasn't entirely sure what you were looking for on some parts, so please tell me if anything need revising.
NAME: Stanley Jessupt

AGE: 36

GENDER: Male

RACE: Hispanic/African American mix

APPEARANCE: Stanley (probably not his real name.) is roughly 5'8?, with cropped short brown hair and gray eyes. He has fairly dark skin, due to several generations of interracial parentage, and a broad, open face, lined from the wind and the rain. He is fairly slim, but wiry and reasonably strong for his size. He has a large scar across the underside of his jaw, extending from just under his right ear to the left side of his chin. His hands are calloused and scarred from various labor. He wears a thin leather duster, with thinner, but less protective, metal armor underneath.

PERSONALITY: Stanley is constantly optimistic, and friendly to a fault. Many people suspect he was struck on the head as a child. He enjoys talking to people, and makes friends easily. Despite his optimism, he does believe in weaponry, though he prefers to talk, rather than shoot. He chatters, constantly. No matter how little the chatteree wants to talk to him. This has resulted in more than one shooting.

WEAPONS: .32 revolver, typically. He also carries a sawed off for closer encounters, and a combat knife for even closer ones.

ITEMS: A few stimpacks, and a week's worth of rations (5x caravan lunches, split, 5x dirty water, 1x purified water in canteen) all in a large leather satchel worn at his side. He also carries a tourniquet, three vials of poison for his knife, should he need it, a DC Metro map, modified for current condition, and a compass. He also carries a single book, well-read and tattered but still holding together, obviously well-loved. The title has worn off, but if it were still there it would read ?The Collected Poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay?, a family heirloom. He loves it well, and is fond of flipping through it in idle moments.

PERKS/TRAITS/SKILLS: Stanley has long since learned how to bring people around to his point of view, he is an excellent persuader. He is passable with conventional firearms, and at buying and selling. However, he has an old back injury that prevents moving too quickly, and he can't take too many hits before going down. Despite this, is fairly charismatic, lucky and intelligent, and of average strength, but, possibly due to his optimistic outlook, he can blithely ignore danger around him, and often misses small details about the world around him.

Laborer: Due to Stanley's background as a laborer, he has little difficulty carrying heavier weights than might be expected, but he has difficulty lifting as much as he can carry.

Optimistic: His cheerful disposition wins him many friends and just as many enemies. The cold-hearted and cheerless will despise him, while most others will probably find him refreshing and amusing.

TRANSPORTATION: Stanley walks, and walks, and walks. And then continues walking. And skips sometimes, when the mood takes him.

Honey, I shrunk the post.
The RP started with 20 people. People have had to bow out or did not show up since the beginning. The answer to your question is as many as I feel that I can handle at one time. Given that I said we started with twenty, this'll only get complicated if the surge of new profiles I can accept as usable is overwhelming again. Completely possible.

That reminds me, I'll be looking at the above profiles tomorrow, and whatever's below the post as well. I won't leave ya hanging too long. My impatience wouldn't allow it.

I may have to award him a special solid sledge (called "Ammer-Hay") with Better Criticals for such a stout character.

POINT OF ORDER: Yes, I can do that if I want to.

This profile is acceptable, which means I can certainly use it. Final decisions are listed when this thread is over. Moving on...

ruedyn said:
So, he looks kinda' like Big Ben [http://www.365horrormovie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/skeleton-Ben-house-1986.jpg] with a goatee? I'm with it. I like it. Deos the goatee mean he's evil or just stylish? In any case, this one's just fine.

Raynoson said:
I like him and think he should do a double-act with Murphy. However, I have to question ONE THING in his profile: The Gauss Rifle. I questioned the other user of a Gauss Rifle in this game and I have to here as well. Those things are hard to come by and certainly the ammo as well. There are a few sources, but two of those are Enclave and Brotherhood, whom Forest is an outright enemy of. This profile is otherwise fine, but I have to question that article.

SamtheDeathclaw said:
If his real name turns out to be either Dwayne or Hicks, I will laugh. Anyway, he seems fine.

We'll hang on for a while.

Definitely interested, been following this RP since it started and always wanted to join since I missed the deadline. (Love Frank Rose ATM)

Name: Wayne (And that's it you nosey son of a *****)

Age: 38ish

Gender: Male

Race: Caucasian Human

Appearance: At around 5'9" Wayne isn't exactly a giant, and with a face suitable only for a wastelander, he isn't exactly a model. He is quite muscular, but it is all hidden under his duster. the first thing you notice about him is the limp, but once he finally gets face to face most people become drawn to his cold piercing eyes. Under his rattan cowboy hat, you can just about make out his brown hair, cut short and at the same length as his beard.

Personality: Put short, Wayne is an asshole. He'll help others if it benefits himself, but otherwise he's content with pushing people aside to get what he wants. He especially hates the 'muties' or anything that isn't human, which is kinda linked to his limp. The limp is what caused Wayne's change of character, he doesn't talk about it much... He doesn't talk about anything much. Being in constant pain makes a man draw into himself and shut out the world, trying to focus on getting through each day and aiming for his eventual goal that should stop the pain.

Weapons: Trail Carbine (scoped), .44 magnum revolver, A hatchet tucked in a sheathe inside his duster, and a few sticks of dynamite.

Items: A PipBoy3000 - not fully functioning, given as a gift from Arcade Gannon. Lighter, Cigarettes, A case of stimpacks/empty syringes, Bottles (empty and full of water), various foods and survival tools.

Perks/Traits/Skills: He is a cowboy of the wastes, great at operating and repairing lever action and revolver style firearms. Having learned to live off the land his survival is sky high too. Though he carries some dynamite with him, he knows little of explosives, or anything technical for that matter, preferring to shoot at things untill they work/break. Before his accident, he was great at melee too, but those days are behind him... for now.

Transportation: The most unusual thing about Wayne, even in today's world, is the Robobrain he travels with. It has been repurposed by the Followers of the Apocalypse to follow Wayne, serving as a mobile storage unit with its hollowed out body cavity, and its brain reconfigured to follow his orders through his PipBoy3000. Not very glamorous it also has a fold down seat on the front of it to allow Wayne to rest his leg to travel, but it's not very comfortable, or fast, often called 'the fastest way of getting nowhere'.
Worst of all is the fact that it also has no weapons, or targeting system to allow it to use ANY weapons...

I removed some added fluff details on the rifle, but I'm kinda implying the fact he may have been to/was at/connected to Anchorage in some way. Gauss rifles were used during that Campaign, and your sheet doesn't say to add personal history.
As is, he is an old ghoul, and there is no doubt that both Enclave and Brotherhood can be killed and looted, or simply that wandering around for a large period of time leads to interesting times, and dangerous finds.
As the ammo is scarce (4 shots a pop), it is why he carries alternate weapons as is. In all honesty, how else do you kill some of the big buggers out there, save for explosives in the mug.
--
(I ran in to this issue as well and frankly the ammo vs. use balanced itself out in my Fallout RPs.)

Relax. I was making sure you could come up with something. Unexpected questions, plotting, etc. will come up because I can and will do things for the sake of an awesome RP. Even the guys that LEFT admit that it's gone well. They just didn't have the time to dedicate to it at the moment.

RobDaBank said:
I'm guessing if he's with the Followers, he's not really a Legion-friendly. Keeping in mind what I said to Ray about surprise questions, I wanted to ask how Wayne got here across Legion territory. It'd also be important to know his stance on BoS and Enclave since he might encounter the Fort Knox base along the way.

(EXAMPLE: The Van Graff guy in this RP had a well-armed car, which would pretty much outclass Legion patrols easy.)

He is entirely neutral. He gives not a shit what happens, as he has a vehicle that does to Deathclaws what a horny hulk does to fan-girls who make unfortunate wishes, and can go to the other end of the country in a week.
