*sigh*

I blame that iCarly show. My older sister watches it and I watched one with her and I swear that they sling that term around more than a joint at Laser Floyd.

Wow, any word should be added to the English language, not just the popular ones...

I cannot BEAR the word noob - it's just an excuse for long-established members of any community to chuck insults at people who should instead be given a bit of a warmer reception and who have usually actually done nothing wrong, other than perhaps being stupid enough to dare ask someone's advice about how to do something.
... noob

I agree. Why can't we talk like sophisticated humans and not drooling machines.

Oh wait I know, the Internet created this. Connect the world, you connect the bad ideas with the good.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Stop the world, I want out.
If you build a time machine, I'll go back to some undisclosed point in time and fix all this shit.

Seriously, though. Noob? Despite what that other guy said about there not being a million "in-use" words to begin with, I can't tolerate watching a language I hold close to my heart be destroyed by the Halo generation. I mean, it already has, but up until this point I could very easily deny it.

Noob was used way before the Halo generation, and I really don't see the reason to not put it into the dictionary. Like someone said, there are thousand of words that are not used, what difference will ONE word make in the long run: it's not like every other words of the so called "1337 speek" is being included in the dictionary.

Only 25,000 uses of a word in the media are needed to get it officially rcognised? Then I say we at the Escapist "lakat" our own new "symbats" and get then "propentially" recognised as "tren" words :p

Alhough if there are already nearly a million words some of those are probably already in there, albiet with different meanings...

There is way more then a million words! Think about it...

Seriously, I will wait, I have nothing better to do right now.

Got it yet?

How about know?

I will enlighten you if you ain't figured it out yet. There is over a billion trillion numbers, each number was a word and sign representation, there for over a trillion words.
95% of which are combinations of other number-words.
One word (or two in your theory) Blackboard. Its its own word, even though it is a combination of the words black and board.
But one million isn't onemillion.

Ten trillion isn't tentrillion.

So those are not words, they are phrases.
Most numbers are phrases.

On that note though, if noob becomes the one millionth word I'm going to move to a shack in the woods and shoot everyone that passes by with rock salt.
