no. it won't be fixed ever. People don't like paying for things.
this was probably the best answer I have seen yet

I don't mean it sarcastically either I know many people who would download a game that costed $10. so ya it doesn't matter if its cheap or not

In short, No. In long, Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

As long as the internet stays like it is (and it probably always will be), and people continue to stay as they are (which they probably will be), it will never change.

I can confidently say Piracy may (MAY) decrease if:

A) More games were worth paying money for these days.

Maybe its just me, but the level of creativity and entertainment brought out by games these days is low and still heading down a steep hill. I've changed gaming from a major hobby, to a last-ditch form of fun.

B) People actually have money again.

Things are tight nowadays, the world economy's are struggling (Atleast in America, I'd love for my paycheck to go to something other than rent. Food would be awesome.) and money is either nonexistant or very difficult to mass. A lot of the general public is too broke to pay 50-60 bucks a game anymore. It just ain't like the old days. And heck, a lot of other countries need to pay DOUBLE what us Americans are paying.

*weary sigh*

I very much doubt it ever will be fixed... it's a massive market of its own now. It's like the war on drugs - prettymuch unwinnable but able to be kept in a shaky sort of check.

This whole issue is covered in TPB (Pirate Bay) court case. For obvious copyright reasons people want it shut down, but other people think of it as a sign of rebellion against capitalism, and therefore think that it should stay.
