Starcraft or C&C? I've played Halo Wars, LotR:BFME, and many other RTSs but none compare to my experiences with Starcraft and the C&C series. Will a a future RTS knock these giants off their pedestal?
Halo Wars was the only non-PC RTS I've ever played. There's a pretty good deal at my local Best Buy for the Warcraft III Battle Chest with all 3 installments.cybersurgeon said:I believe that if you want to play a high quality RTS, you have to move away from the consoles. The console RTS is always muddled with a unfortunately bad control scheme, usually taking away from the "S" part of RTS.
On another note, I have long been a fan of the Warcraft RTS series, you should try them out.
BFME2 did come out on 360. It was pure garbage. They removed War of the Ring mode and Create-a-Hero. I never felt so sick in my life. So glad I only played it at a friend's house. I'll stick to my PC BFME2 with the expansion.cybersurgeon said:Really? I was under the impression that BFME only came out on consoles as well.
Aaaaaaaaaaanywho, I'm not too ignorant, and can admit when I'm wrong, so sorry about that. But my opinion remains. Just like FPS seem to work better with the consoles, I believe that RTS can only truly be great when they are on the computer.
homeworld 2 ( only played 2 ) kicked mayor ass. the moddability was also quite do able, so cool to make your own space ship and own some major vaygr ass XDKitsune_Bi said:I really liked C&C (the first one), and Starcraft was also rather good. However I preferred Homeworld over both of them. I don't believe that I've played any other (recent) RTS that comes close to these.
EDIT: Oh, and Age of Empires, I loved that too.
Tis truth he speaks.Baby Tea said:Giants?
I never really enjoyed Starcraft. I always though Total Annihilation was a better RTS.
C&C was good, but I think Red Alert 2 is where the 'fun' factor capped.
I would say the best RTS series would be Homeworld 1 & 2.
Simple yet challenging, 3D Space movement, very very well balanced...Nothing has come close since.
I would say I like the Total War Series better then anything, but I don't consider that an RTS.
