I haven't laughed at an episode in a very long time and I only watch a new episode every now and then where as I used to eagerly await every Wednesday afternoon. A lot of his humor is really immature so I guess I've just gotten past that stage in my life.

I will always remember the limerick episode as my favourite though.

Also, I don`t understand why some people are saying that the show isn`t going down hill (or at least losing popularity). It`s pretty clear from this thread alone that there are way more people who don`t care for the show than there used to be. I think we have a thread about ZP`s decline about once a month. 3 years ago we had threads praising it instead. Threads like: what is your favourite ZP episode. We don`t really see those anymore. Plus, someone has now posted graphs that show it`s decline so I don`t really think this is up for debate anymore.

Well i would stay here even if ZP closes down, but judging from the last "how did you find escapist" thread, around 90% of people here found it via ZP, so incoming traffic would certainly die down.

I first came to The Escapist for ZP. Then for the longest time I only came to the site for ZP. These days I don't come to the site for ZP. That has nothing to do with the quality of ZP though. It has to do with the quality of everything else. I loved Extra Credits, I love both of Movie Bob's videos as well as his column, I love The Jimquisition, I love the LRR guys and Unskippable. I love damn near everything on this site. ZP hasn't gone down in quality, everything else just stepped up imo. ZP doesn't shine out when everything else is shining too.

I have been here for quite a while, and I'm not going anywhere. I am sure that enough people share my opinion

here's the thing I don't think ZP is losing its luster, I think the zing isn't there anymore because you know what to expect from it. Nothing will ever beat the first couple of videos you watched that's for certain because the pacing and the humor where shiny to an uninitiated viewer.

We underground now!

I too came here for ZP but stayed here for pussy forums. While I don't rewatch ZP like I used to, I still watch every episode and in certain way I think it got better. Also I see escapist mentioned over internet far more often so I really don't think that we are going anywhere but up.

ZP is pretty much the only thing that keeps me coming back to this site, I've pretty much abandoned the forums since I realised it was just the same people having the same arguments over and over again, on a weekly basis.

I wouldn't say the shows quality has declined, I'm just used to his work now, so I know what to expect; it's less like the excitement of a first date and more a good chat with an old friend.

Yes... Clearly The Escapist is sinking like a screen-doored submarine. You should get out now while there's still time. Save yourself!

*goes to watch ZP and Feed Dump again*

I came here for ZP, and stayed for LRR. I still watch ZP most weeks though, usually after I've checked out Feed Dump.

Honestly I think Yahtzee has been doing more creative and interesting things with ZP now. It had a bit of an awkward period a while ago but i feel like the more recent episodes have been good. He deviates from his shtick a bit more now and i feel like that keeps it from feeling stale, but some people will inevitably hate it because change.

The only reason you think there's a decline is because you've grown accustomed to his humour. It's as good as ever but you're used to the style and delivery of the humour as well as those zing moments.

*TDKR Bane voice* The Yahtzee will be ripped from his decadent nest, and cast out into the cold world that we know and endure. The LRR crew will survive, as they learn to serve true justice. This great website...it will endure...The Escapist Will Survive!

(I suppose I could say something On-Topic but that's the first thing that came to mind >.> but yeah...ZP is still funny to me and apparently a few other people)

Thankfully The Escapist doesn't rely on just one "anchor" show anymore, it has other famous features still. And statistics are misleading.

Even if ZP were to pack overnight, things would still keep going on. So don't worry about it. Everywhere has a lifecycle I guess, users come and go, but it's fun while it lasts.

The best way of showing some sort of downward trend is to check traffic numbers specifically from Wednesdays. Using yearly trends isn't a fair way of deciding the decline of one series. for all we know from those numbers, Zero punctuation could be keeping the site alive while the other shows are the ones not gaining any exposure. Context is important. A downward trending graph looks bad, but the context of it isn't shown therefore it cannot be used as secure evidence.
