Woah, hypocrite...

Currently I am raging at the sheer hypocrisy of this one individual on the bastion of intellectuality that is Facebook.

Anyone on a social site such as Facebook is sure to know the kind of individual I'm on about - the one whose posts make them look like they are manically bipolar (they aren't though, and incidentally I have never met a bipolar person who doesn't try to cover it up in front of people they know), who consistently posts, for example:

"I'm so happy! I have a feeling everything from now on is going to be great!"

But literally 15 minutes later: "I can't stop crying! Oh woe is me! I'm so sad!"

This person even attempted suicide recently (they've instantly regretted it and won't do it again), then got a shitload of sympathy for it, even though they are showered with sympathy for every sad post they ever make, leading me to believe they are an attention seeker, and this time did what I consider to be something incredibly stupid.

Then they join a group called: "Stop putting such depressing stuff on your status - don't want to know."

I don't want to know either thanks, yet the hypocrisy angers me greatly.

Couple of older people I played hockey with at one point said that video games were a waste of time, but they were talking about all the soap operas they watched.

I just gritted my teeth and got ready for the game. Wasn't time to pick fights.
Ugh I hate people like that.An ex of mine would constantly tell me(when we were going out)that games were a waste of time and were for kids and people with low I.Q's yet would sit down and watch several hours of soaps and reality tv every night

When anti-theists tell religious people they're stupid for believing in something that can't be proven.

Uh, what? You're all athiests.
That's not hypocritical. It's more stupid than anthing else considering that God's existence can neither be proven nor disproven by either side.
That wasn't hypocritical. IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP ON THIS FOURUM, but it was not hypocritical. Don't bash the kid for something that he did not do. Bash him/her for trolling.

I hate when people play sports VIDEO GAMES. Isn't that against the point? Playing football and getting fat at the same time? Well, I guess this is America...

The most misinformed statement of the century?
I am sorry but do you happen to have both a football pitch and a constant football team to play at any time you want?
Because I don't. Neither do I have an ice rink or a tennis court. And, you know, it's fine and all to say that sports video games are pointless but here's the catch - some people can't play tennis or football. Or they can't do racing, myself being the case.
You're wrong, buddy. Of course, no one denies that real tennis is better than Top Spin 3 or Virtua Tennis 2009 but you can't get back from work/school tired and play real tennis. And neither would you really want to.

atheist =/= anti-theist

an atheist simply lacks belief in god or to translate literally from the latin 'Without a belief in deities(s)' but an anti-theist is normally hypocritical as they often play the "you cant prove it" argument.

the word atheist is a bit like the word irony the common usage is just wrong.

I'm not 100% sure it's true, but my friend from a different school said their anti-drug teacher went on in, told them the dangers of smoking, how it was bad for them, etc., whereas after it all she went outside and smoked a few cigarettes.

I laughed when I first heard that.
well ofcourse he knows it's bad for you and himself but addiction makes him wan't it anyway.
hypocrisy is not really the case with addictions.

if he chose to smoke sigarettes than he'd be a hypocrite.

One of my friends is constantly saying that he has become tired of computer gaming, it wastes his life and he's not gonna play games anymore. Recently he bought a new computer and is seems to me he is not going to end his life as a gamer.

My friend is an awful hypocrite. She said she wouldn't dye her hair red because "everyone does it, and I'm not a sheep" then she dyed it red.
My boyfriend too, last week he said, "age is just a number" but the week before was dismissing one of his friends who's in an age gap relationship.
What's the point?

I have a very specific one.
My Advanced Macroeconomics professor was praising our textbook author's knowledge and ability to present Short-Run (re: Keynesian, re:liberal) MacEc Theory. Just a few weeks later, when we moved to Long-Run (re:Friedman-ist, re:conservative) MacEc Theory, this SAME author in the SAME book became a dolt.
My professor found the need to assert the author's stupidity within every other paragraph. Strange thing though: my professors assertions were based on nothing more than unproven (sometimes DIS-proven) Keynesian hypothesis.
Essentially, the author was a genius when he agreed with the professor and an idiot when he contradicted the professor.
The logic to this was: he is wrong and I am right because I am right.
I don't know if this event QUITE fits the definition of hypocrisy, but I learned that liberal economic ideas are based on ignoring inconvenient evidence and embracing intentional ignorance.

Good point with that. Sports games can be handy on rainy days, but still, my point in being is that Video Games are the place for RPG's and Platformer games, not jocks (In my opinion). Anyway, sports games sell for ~about~ $120-60.00 in US. But once a year has passed the game is mostly useless. I tried to trade my bros Madden 03 and they said it was about 20 cents trade in value. What is the point in making it if it went down in value that much?!
