Now that would be ironic given all the atheists.
Actually, I believe atheism counts as a religion.
Not really, seeing as we as Atheists dont believe in supernatural power or divine beings controlling the universe, we believe that each individual chooses how its life is going to play out, granted there are still things out of our control, but instead of calling it "the wrath of god", we call it "coincidence", and instead of being "blessed by god", we're "lucky".

But those things will always be around no matter what you call them, thus we as atheists control our own lifes and live by what standards are set by other people in the presence, and we make up our own minds about stuff instead of following a 2000 year old book for guidance/rules.

So no, Atheism is not a religion, seeing as we lack a "god/leader".
Well, religion means something you believe in. That doesn't have to be a god. So Atheists believe that they are responsible for what happens.
That logic kinda fails, i mean in that case Everyone on this planet is religious, even agnostics who believe in nothing, see?, that makes no sense, so no, Atheism is not a religion, cause it lacks a deity/leader.

'Oh science, help us'
- South Park, in one of their wittier moments.
Science Damnit!

No but seriously, Atheism is still not a religion seeing as there is no god/leader who watch over us/control us, so even if South Park did do a great episode making fun of atheists, it isnt really valid seeing as they portray Science as something that controls man, when in reality its the other way around, science doesnt get done unless man does it.

Hmmm to me WoW or, any game really, lacks one important things that makes up a religion. To explain the mysterys of the universe. WoW never trys to answer questions in real life. I guess you could say in a meta sence it answers question in game. But in real life if you die you cant just walk your ghost back to your corpse and revive your self so i don't think its answers per say are all the usefull.

I do apologise if the things I said here have been mentioned before. I tend not to read posts on threds that have topics that errupt into falme wars. And religion is number one on the list of topics that errupt into falme wars. 2 and 3 are politics and PC vs consloe gamming, at least on this site.

Athiesm, as someone else has pointed out, is a religion: just not a very religious one :D

But this could have SOME merit. Some people play their characters as if they were actually real, otherwise known as RPing. I'd say that smells faintly religious. Also, there are religious factions in the game/religious classes.

Well back on topic....how anyone can think wow is a religion is...well...mind boggling. Next they'll be saying EVE online is a religion or Guild Wars or any other mass player game. Hell lets go rrreeallllyyy far out there and say pacman is a religion. Sheesh-.- Seriously if people think wow is a religion, they REALLY need to be checked into a mental health clinic.

So then acting is a religion then? I'd rather not have Mel Gibson or Tom Cruise Religion tyvm.
