Farley pushed open the door to the plant, sniffing at the many smells that met his nose. The overlying one was of dust and mold, but underneath that there was a faint aroma of kerosene. Some bandits or drifters had probably been in here recently, who knows. Whatever the case, if there was any kerosene left, he would take it, whether the owners were gonna come back for it or not.
Fingering the shotgun in his right hand, he advanced into the main room, broken glass and debris crunching under his feet. A fair amount of light filtered in through some broken windows on the far wall, enough to see by at least. A few doors led off into other rooms, and a catwalk ran above him. It would have at one time given the people who worked here access to the upper reaches of the giant generator that squatted in the middle of the dreary space.
Glancing around a few times and squinting into the dim light, he thoughtfully deduced everything was safe, and advanced on the generator. Setting his bag down next to him, he knelt and turned on a flashlight, examining the outside of the old, retired piece of machinery. After some prying, pulling, and bashing, he gained access to it's innards and began pulling out various parts, stuffing them in the sack.
