I do know a fair bit about computers. But I didn't mean to insult anyone. Basically, if you build your own gaming computer, it will be thousands less than if you got it from these websites. Most people will settle for a thousand. Then there are the crazies out there who want the best of everything, even if it's just a 20% improvement. I'm not paying 14,000 more for a 20% improvement. I'll edit the post after I get the basic stats down.

The case is really big, I have the same kind actually... Mine was $250
Processor is an Intel Core i7 3.33GHz quad core. Mine is a i5 2.66 quad core.
Motherboard is EVGA with 4X SLI. I'll get into SLI...
It's basically tethering multiple graphic cards together to get insane performance out of them.
RAM is 12GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair. DDR3 is a big improvement over DDR2 and the speed of 1600 is the fastest without over clocking. THe CAS latency is also very low.
Power Supply is 1500W... I didn't know they made them that high. Better have good fuses at your house!
It's got 3 hard drives and 2 Blue Ray disk drives... Totally unnessicary.
And 4 fucking NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 with 1GB on them. Holy fuck...

Basically, you will never push this thing anywhere near the limit. No games require a build like this. Crisis will run perfectly on something with half the specs.
Games won't catch up to this thing until a decade.
I won't lie though. I would feel really sweet just to have something like this.

And the reason for my slow response was due to myself watching House!

And you're surprised it comes to a stupid price if you take all the most expensive hardware on the market today...why ?

ok 14k is a bit high, but which moron buys the top-of-the-line components when they come out ?

I mean you have 1300$ worth of video cards ...seriously ? most people don't even pay that for their whole computer.

Ok, you clearly don't get it. I have a Digital Storm PC and paid about $4000. It's the best computer I've EVER used. I can see you just selected stuff for a custom PC and just copied and pasted what came in the pre-purchase ticket emailed to you. That rig you list costing around $15K has top of the line parts plus it adds in accessories you selected (really? you selected the shirt and the USB drive?) and labor for building the damn thing. It's no secret you can build a rig for less that having one made but the DS comes with a 3-5 year warranty.

So in other words, go screw.

Edit: At least you didn't select that Nvidia 3D monitor bullshit.

I'm disappointed with all of you. This is an online forum for gamers everywhere and no one found this topic worthy of a reply? Well, in the end it probably fell under the radar. All I can do is hope for better luck next time.
What you've said read to me as:
"Hi, agree with me."
"You're not agreeing with me, so I'll insult the entire community."

Even if you were meaning for it to be sarcasm, you gotta make it painfully clear in text, or else you're gonna get a lot of flack. I've seen many an excellent OPs be misconstruded into trolling threads over a simple miscommunication.

HOLY FUCKING SNIP

Maybe if you'd actually explain to us why it's such a ripoff instead of just telling us it is then maybe you'd create discussion, otherwise your post makes you look like an elitist douche who holding their knowledge of computers over everyone's head to make yourself look smart.

And good going with the bump. I assume you don't know the definition of "SAGE".
SAGE [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAGE_%28Soviet-American_Gallium_Experiment%29]?
To what do you refer?

Frankly all that text confused me and put me into a coma. I hope your happy.
I am happy, but not about that. If you ask really nicely I might tell you why.

As for the OP. No computer for consumer use is worth more then $1500-$2000, anything over that and your returns for the extra money you pour in are so minuscule you might as well just hold onto the money and wait two years and use it to upgrade your system.
