Worst Cartoon Currently on Air

I can't stand almost any of the crap out on Cartoon Network.

Johnny Test is aggravatingly repetitive and all the characters do is speak to fast or scream.

Almost Naked Animals and Sidekicks are stupid and annoying.

Problem Solverz is probably the worst show I've seen recently with its terrible animation and completely random humor.

Even Adventure Time, which a lot of people seem to like, annoys me. I just don't find it funny.

This is why I am happy we have MLP. I understand a lot of people here hate it (and with the way the fanbase can act, I don't blame them), but I still love the show for its great humor, animation, music, and characters.

Does Spongebob still air? Otherwise I'm gonna go with Family Guy. Even South Park's humor is higher-brow than this... drivel (which we probably won't agree on).

But I'll admit, the fight with the chicken was pretty funny if needlessly long and drawn out.

My vote goes to the newest season of Pokemon. Yes, it is in fact STILL going on. This season, going with Black/White, they decided to make Ash even younger than he was in the first season. His new 'companions' are more insufferable, and he's just as brain-dead as ever.

The hilarity I find about the new show (not that I've seen and/or watched it) is that since it aired in 98 (in the Americas at any rate) Ash was 10, now well over 10 years later when he SHOULD be 22 or 23, HE'S STILL 10!!

I don't care if it's a game verse! They tell you in Blue and Red that it's been approximately a year since you started your journey after beating the Elite 4, which makes it feel more accomplished.

The Simpsons does this as well... There's well over 365 episodes, but EVERYONE is the same age!

I dunno I feel like if the shows run on too long they fall further and further into crappiness

Family Guy. It's poorly written, weak in humour and adored by young-teens who prefer its crudity and irrelevance over subtle and intelligent humour.

I'm saying South Park, if only for the fact that Family Guy seasons 1, 2, and 3 were fantastic, and South Park has never made me laugh, because let's face it, it's just pure asinine.

Plus, it's even worse than Family Guy is now for just crudity and irrelevance.

My dad's girlfriend has a three year old son who likes to watch it when he's over here. It may seem like cheating to pick a toddler's cartoon, but believe me when I say that Max and Ruby is inane, cheaply animated and badly acted even by those low, low standards. The only explanation I can think of for why a show this terrible exists is that the creator wants to punish any parents being forced to watch this crap with their kids.

Crap...the problem with this question is the fact that a lot of modern day kids shows could easily qualify as the worst. Mostly because of the fact that a lot of those shows have been dumbed down to make them "kid friendly", but to the point that it almost seems that the creators were assuming that your kids are pants-on-head retarded who need their hand held in order to learn ANYTHING.

Seriously...just look at either Blues Clues, Dora the Explorer, or anything else on Nickelodeon nowadays and you'll see what I mean. Personally, Nickelodeon has a lot of good examples of BAD children's television. It was better back when I was a kid and they were importing good kids' shows from Thames Television.

It's on childrens TV here in the UK and has my youngest daughter trying to talk like a Jamaican and sounding amazingly silly.

Though i'd like to chalk up a lot of the hate to nostalgia glasses and just bin the various insults, I have to say that today's cartoon quality has plummeted. Especially when viewed compared to the mid-90s to 2k boom that we saw thanks to Warner Brothers, Klasky-Csupo on Nickelodeon and Tartakovsky/Faust on Cartoon Network

Nowadays, though, we do have to contend with stuff like Total Drama Island, Johnny Test and any of the Dora wannabes targeted at that massive kid demographic. And, sadly enough, when crappy shows finally have the decency to just die, another crappy show is waiting in the wings to take it's place.

Actually, come to think of it, I think the nostalgia factor is one of the reasons MLP is so popular. It's two main writers are from that same era that we grew up with [Rob Renzetti got his start with a horrible show, but went on to work on some of the greats] and they know how to hit at the rose-tinted heartstrings without the 'THIS IS RETRO!' screaming that others attempt at. Then again, i've only watched a few episodes, and I still don't see why the heck everyone thinks it's the second coming of Animation.

In the scheme of things, though, i'd rather watch it than Problem Solverz, Johnny Test or Diego the Explorer.

look familiar? like the dark knight returns? its the references, the animation, everything that makes this the 2nd best batman cartoon EVER. 1st? obviously animated series.

okay, worst? oh, geez, so many to pick. i would have to say that stupid gumball show. ugh. all those stupid modern slurs, use of the word crap like a noun (its a kids show, by the way.) it just disgusts me.

Fun Fact the Joker in this Batman is Dexter's Dad from Dexter's Laboratory.

I'll pile on with the B&B love and say to those who gave it a miss give it a second look. They've got SO many amazing stories that could only be done in this setting. Meeting completely obscure villians from Batman's history? Batman facing his parent's killer? Batman facing a music based villian played by NPH? A retelling of the fall of Ted Kord (The Original Blue Beetle) that doesn't make you puke? Making Aquaman a fun character? It's all there, in the Brave & the Bold.

What? A silly, retro Batman cartoon that isn't dark and edgy that also happens to be good? Outrageous!
Sorry I couldn't resist. BTW has anyone else noticed that Batman actually has probably the best cartoon show track record. I mean Batman the Animated Series was amazing, The Batman was pretty damn good in its own right, Batman Beyond and its movie tie in Return of the Joker were nothing of short of awesome and now Batman: The Brave and Bold does what Adam West couldn't, that is, making a campy, retro Batman not just cool but fun!

i feel pretty good that now around 40% of the people scrollin on this thread are bat-fans. the rest are bronies and other people. have you seen the superman episode? i'm saying this a lot because it has a the dark knight returns reference, and its just plain fun to see superman being an asshole due to red kryptonite.

Well you could check the episode "Chill of the Night!" which has Kevin Conroy playing the Phantom Stranger making a wager against the Spectre (played by Mark Hamill) for Batman's free will.

Really, it even makes sense it's not Conroy playing Batman this time, this is another universe, one where the sky isn't mercury red and Batman doesn't focus his efforts in Gotham's criminal underbelly, lurking in the shadows. And that's good. It'd be very hard to out-BTAS BTAS.
