Yes, the old Nickelodeon stuff kicked ass, original Rugrats was awesome, and there was another one that I can't remember now....G1eet said:Anyone else miss Angry Beavers?
And for that matter, AHHH! Real Monsters!
Yes. I actually really like Phineas and Ferb. The only good thing disney has done...for a long time.pantsoffdanceoff said:Phineas and Ferb, don't judge me till you've seen a few episodes.
First off, it's Nickelodeon (ahhh, inner Spelling Nazi is satisfied). And to answer your question: The Jonas Brothers Happened. And Miley Cyrus. The people over at Nick saw them appeal to their target demographic. Feeling threatened, the execs said: If it works for them, it will work for us, right?SmilingKitsune said:Yeah what happened to nicelodean? It used to be great now it's.....definately not great.
Before I say it I should let you know I'm not a nurato fan, but a ninja wearing an orange jacket is a lot harder to pick out of a crowd then a ninja wearing a gi.Curtmiester said:WHY HAS NO BODY SAID NARUTO! (for me it counts) BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS NINJAS WHERE BRIGHT ORANGE!
I'd like to retract this statement because there's one exception. The old Captain N cartoon was utter hell. What they did to Simon Belmont is UNFORGIVABLE!!Random Jah-Love said:I love nearbout all cartoons. I can't think of any short of like Nick Jr. stuff that I downright hate.
The main problem that I had with Drawn together was that it put sterotypical characters from all of the main cartoon generes together and used a single, cliche, "grotesque" way of portraying those characters. The main point of the show was that the "reality" (Using quotes makes me feel like a snob, but I am using them in here as puns) of what life for these characters, which ranged from the very modern to the very gothic - i.e. superman, would be like if you put them all together. And, it did this all in a way that what I would consider that an unenlightened executive staff would probably find profitable. Shows like "Family Guy" and even the "Simpsons" do use vulgarity but, they do not rely on it. I am also not saying that these two later shows are the best animated shows out there today but, when describing them, their critics call into question the "Fart" matter when describing the shows faults and lump the viewers into a demographic which will all shamlesly dedicate their viewing hours to.plastic_window said:I always liked Drawn Together - it was just plain funny. Of course it was racist and sexist and ageist and every kind of -ist, but I found it funny, it pretty much makes fun of everything it could. Only lasted three seasons before they axed it anyway. If you don't mind me asking:huntedannoyed said:I really hated (and still continue to hate) Drawn Together. I know it's not along the lines of cartoon network daytime shows, but still. I instantly deduct 10 points from people who like that show as well.
How cumz yo duntt lik it, yo?
Plus, why do so many people hate Spongebob? I agree that the new episodes are awful, but the first season was brilliant. Reminded me of Ren and Stimpy. Speaking of which, there are new Ren and Stimpy episodes on SpikeTV - and those are absolutely terrible. I was happier with the slightly subtle hints that the two were gay, now they have sex in front of my eyes. That just destroys my childhood.
