Superman, Because he's the equivlient to a god, his stories have no charecter growth and it's just luthor does some bad thing and superman stops him, where's the charecter growth?
Perhaps you should try reading some of the comics first, instead of basing your opinion on some mediocre movies.

I'd have to say I'm really not particularly fond of Superman he's just far too powerful. He seems to have super everything. I have seen him use his super weaving ability and his super friction ability. With the super friction he used it to melt the bars to a prison. Why super friction why not his Laser eyes or even his unparalleled strength?

Oh and to the poster who dislikes Wolverine due to lack of character development. You should check out X-Force it actually shows Wolverine has more to him then just an animal side. Or even in the current Dark Reign era you see him at war with himself a lot when it comes to his son Daken. You don't have to like Wolverine but I feel he's at his best in that series mostly because the writer is doing a pretty good job.

Every (name of legitimate male superhero here)girl/woman. It shows women can be superheroes, but not original superheroes.

Every once and a while I flip through the Wikipedia section on the DC universe, because it just reads like a joke; compared to the mature, gritty universe Marvel has established over the years, DC is like a retarded manchild that never grows any older mentally.

But that aside, the worst comic book character ever?

Thor Girl.
although sometimes marvel does seem to have a very gritty world, DC has a lot of stupid heroes and villains, but at least DC has the guts ti actually kill people off, marvel does: but they always come back.

my favorite for worst comic book character ever has to be deathlock, now don't get me wrong, i liked him for a long time, but then i bought one comic: he dies of a heart attack, next issue: he's back and the last comic all but never existed... he used to be interesting, but he is past his prime, sadly because he was one of my favorites. some of you will disagree with me perhaps, but i have a long history of not reading bad comics.

as for worst comic in existance? easy: archie. i hate everyone on that comic book, except for betty

aquaman was a close for 2nd. he died: and no one cared.

Ratcatcher. He's like Aquaman except (I'm pretty sure this is impossible) WAY more lame. He controls diseased rodents instead of fish, at least sharks could be somewhat useful.

Either that or no one sells them in England.
There are not many exclusive comic book shops in Britain but most major book stores have a small selection of the big titles

also some Marvel heroes like Storm, Daredevil... and the Fantastic Four... they just all seem to have crap powers and uninteresting back stories =\
While i do agree with FF, storm has been in a few interesting stories and Daredevil has had some great Arcs over the years

Speed Ball. He makes bouncing balls appear out of nowhere; worst POWER ever.

As for character, Spiderman. In my opinion, he's to whiny. I understand that he is an emotionally deep and complex character and that he has had a lot to dea with [ex. Gwen Stacy] and should be a bit emo, but it doesn't make for a very good read. Its just my opinion. No flames, please.

Daken and Jason Todd are just an assholes.

The Punisher is very shallow.

Iron Man is way to authoritarian. (Norman Osborn proves why fascism isn't so popular anymore.)

Phantomah and Stardust are just insane.

There's Ebony from the Spirit. That didn't age well.

There is also virtually every character Rob Liefeld ever created. The only ones that managed to escape being terrible were written completely different.

More than just the big titles, I've found some gems tucked away in (for example) Waterstones. And last I saw, WH Smiths were selling Marvel single-issues, though they hid them in the kids section. Plenty of newsagents carry comics too.

Still, though, Forbidden Planet is your best bet. The tiny one in Southampton moved recently and now had a bigger property in the middle of town. Its like geek heaven :)
