Has no one here played Clive Barker's Jericho? That is easily the worst ending ever...if you can even call it that.
That game destroyed my soul. Me and my friends bought it from 711 for ten bucks and they forced me to play it. I started crying half way through. That is not an exaggeration. It was the worst game of all time. Ever.
I remember the gameplay being really average, bland and boring. It was ok I guess (I've played far worse)....for the $10 I paid for it anyway. The ending just...just...well I basically will never ever touch the game again.

When I was young and very impressionable my grandfather and I played the first Diablo on our brand new PlayStation and had a ton of fun up until the ending cinematic. Even though all of the classes in the game do the exact same thing, the canon is the Warrior doing it, which happened to be who I picked when I was about the 8 years old.

The warriors thoughts after defeating Diablo:
Warrior - What should I do with this all powerful demonic crystal of eeeevil?
Warrior - *thinks RUAL HARD*
Warrior - I know! I'll drive Diablo's soulstone directly into my head, paving the way for more games, making this whole adventure pointless, and not caring how much the fans may hate it! *thumbs up* YEAH!

The ending is soooooooo bad

It's like everything you worked for is taken away from you because the main character is really really dumb
You know it's just because he wanted to shack up with Elika and not be considered a necrophiliac.

Does it actually stop the beast or that boss battle if you gain all the money?
No. You do exactly the same thing if you save everyone, only Theresa says "ZOMG, you saved everyone and gave them everything they wanted! You're awesome, now let us never speak of it again."

Did this piece of shit ever get patched?

Bioshock, after a great boss fight and build up it just kind of ended...very disappointing. It was very abrupt, so I did not care for it.
This, except for that the boss fight sucked in my opinion. Fontaine didn't need...ah...that...to be a formidable opponent.

Kotor 2.... It's so bad I don't even want to explain, man... UGH.
That was less of an ending and more of a sin against all of existence. Reality is made tangibly worse by its being.

I'm with the fella who said KotOR 2. Awesome, awesome game with just the worst ending.

Also, its a complicated story so I'm not gonna bother going for an explanation/spoiler.

One of the worst games ever, not just ending.

Pariah.

Search it up.
Haha, I did. It reminds me of the "Conspiracy episode" of Community, where

Everyone betrays everyone else at the same time.

In recent memory, I'd put it at a tie between Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

Fallout 3 - Oh, you didn't opt to kill yourself in the radiation well? WELL THEN YOU ARE A SELFISH ASSHOLE AND A TERRIBLE PERSON FOR NOT FOLLOWING IN YOUR FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS OF SELF-SACRIFICE. Oh, you have a buddy who is immune to radiation and can do the thing without consequence, everybody wins? NO YOU ARE STILL A SELFISH ASSHOLE AND TERRIBLE PERSON FOR NOT FOLLOWING IN YOUR FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS OF SELF-SACRIFICE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT WOULD BE COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY AND A WASTE OF LIFE. (P.S. You're a jerk)

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - Oh man there sure is this big conflict coming up. Hey, thanks for running this escort quest to get this NPC to a temple. Wow, look at that big daedra lord. Bet that would make for an awesome boss fight! WELL TOO BAD. Sit back, junior. Captain NPC's got this shit, you don't even get to participate. That sure was a heroic chaperone job you did there, give yourself a pat on the back. (P.S. You're irrelevant.)

this was the worst ending I have ever see on a game and I have played halo 2.
wait, what was wrong with halo 2's ending?
Well, basicalTO BE CONTINUED...
the bane of the existence of trilogies. I've come to accept it since a fair amount of excellent series use this, although it is extremely annoying when the sequel doesn't appear *cough halflife2 cough*

Sonic Chronicles. The whole game was pretty bland but the ending was just so lazy and pointless.

Disgaea 2, bad ending.

Adell ends up killing Rozalin, becomes the "new overlord zenon" and kills everyone nearby. Yay.

Thank you! Yes, I'd been waiting for someone to say that. Quite easily one of the worst games of all time, and then the ending redoubles its efforts at completely sucking.
