I actually didn't realize I was calling 'everyone' an asshole. That's just how much they annoy me and how I'd rank them on a scale of worst or not. Other gaming related fanboys are lower on the scale.
To clarify, the elitism of the PC fanboys is mostly what nets them the first point. They do nothing but *****, whine and insult the console players but they show no interest in educating them to show them the benefits of the "better" platform in their eyes, they don't want more people to like PC gaming. They just want to be the only ones being gamers. If it was up to the majority then anyone who's ever touched a console wouldn't play games at all and only PC gamers would play games ever because they're apparently smarter for liking a different style of play.
Console fanboys are second for being annoying and closed minded. They're trolls mostly, creating topics on forums dedicated to annoying other people and creating internet fights over a choice of what fancy box they play with. They are similar to PC gamers in some ways but differ in that rather then wanting everyone else to stop playing games, they'd force everyone to play their console of choice. They tend to put their fingers in their ears and scream nonsense when faced with any negative fact of their console, even if it's something as simple as "it looks silly." They manage to score lower simply because though annoying they don't usually go out of their way to antagonize, insult or be a massive douche to people.
Nostalgia fanboys are just annoying, they cause no harm other then annoyance and rank third simply because of the sheer amount of annoyance. How many times have you heard someone screeching about FFVI or FFVII being THE BEST and how the series should go back to it? They're obnoxious and blinded by nostalgia so thick nothing will penetrate it.
My reasons behind this list is mostly generalization based on the people I've met, but I'm fine with that.
