I believe it is the Sonic fanbase that is the most notorious for being whiny and unpleasable. For example, a new Sonic game is coming out that is done in the style of the genesis games (2D gameplay with updated graphics, similar to what was done with New Super Mario Bros.) and there are several sonic fanboys that hate on the game just because they used the modern tller, green eyed sonic, rather than the short, black eyed genesis sonic sprite.
That's pretty bad.

Who are the worst fanboys in gaming?
Super Smash Brothers fanboys. *SHUDDER*
TiersR4queers lol? I like SSB, but you are right. The fanboys and tourney[folk] are loathsome.

I personally want to murder shooter fanboys (collectively known as Brogamers)
What is this TiersR4queers that you speak of?
moderately successful campaign to make jackasses quit playing as marth and falco in Melee tournaments. Yes I've played tournaments. No, that does not make me a tourneyfag. At any rate, once upon a time, this guy noticed that tourneyfags had begun ranking the Melee characters into tiers. Falco and Marth were top-tier, and EVERYONE began using them, because cowards love to counter and run away. So annoyed was this one mysterious fanboy that he began an internet campaign called TiersR4Queers. Basically, play anyone BUT marth and falco. ANd it worked! was cool. And a great day for all ganon players. HELP YOURSELF TO ANYTHING IN THE FRIDGE!
Well that sounded like a fun day. It a shame I'm no good at fighting games (too many button combos to memorize)

And thank I shall.......BTW you need to restock your entire fridge for everything, including the freezer ice, as I just ate it all. I'm a hungry person

I know I'm tilting a very thick magnifying glass precariously towards some dry grass.

Furries consider themselves a fandom, but they're more of a mental illness. Twilight fangirls are more of a cult.

Fanboys of the original Xbox and the PS3, upon release are among the worst in my eyes. They consisted mainly of spoiled kids that couldn't handle their disappointment in release titles and fear of being ridiculed for wasting so much money on them. So anything that wasn't an Xbox or PS3 title was automatically shit and anything on their own system that is bearable was automatically raised to a pedestal it couldn't possibly stand on.

The Sony Defense Force was documented to actually send members emails on the etiquette of how to act when an acclaimed game that was previously only available on other platforms (Which therefore was gayzors compared to Resistance 2, Drake's Uncharted, and Killzone 2), suddenly arrives on their sacred system.

Every system and every game has its strengths and weaknesses. It's stupid to love only one system or one game and hate on others.

Unless that system and game is the N-Gage and Halo.

Halo Fanboys followed closely by ignorant console fanboys who can't admit that consoles have never and for a long time won't be even on par with even a mediocre PC in the hardware genre...

Ordinarily I would just say all of them as a blanket statement.

But to be specific... either JRPG fanboys or the very creepy Tali (ME2 especially) fanboys

I despise all fanboys.

Every platform has it's pros and cons, and it's own exclusive titles. Hence why I own all 4.

A bizarre and unconscionable phenomenon is when a fanboy not only admits but embraces his ghastly status and begins to mire in delusions of having some level of notability and, even less credulously, importance among fans.

This is often confirmed by the fantasy that they, personally, are an help meet for the franchise, that they are somehow involved with or invested in a given franchise anymore than anyone else that played the game(s), and, above all, that the future of a series and the developers themselves owe them something on a distinctly personal level.

Appeased, these persons (the term 'persons' being used in light of how impossible adhesion into a group becomes due to their nature) are at worst extremely vocal, perpetually irascible, and incessantly condescending.

However, even the pettiest displeasure can, at any moment, spark wild and unassailable delusions of betrayal and that the true ownership of a property has fallen from those who they perceive as having so grossly mishandled it and into their own stewardship. Once a fan has reached this point they are terminal and generally unsalvageable.

The condition can strike anyone at any time, but victims can frequently be culled from Sonic, Final Fantasy, and Zelda followings, among others.

No known treatment is sufficiently documented beyond chemical sterilization and prayer- in that order.

Well, you sounded a little PC fanboyish in your post, so I pulled out the good old "Pot calling kettle black" cliche.

Well written with eloquent prose. You make good use of the thesaurus.

However, I must disagree with your logic that fans of a franchise are not owed anything. In fact, I believe quite the contrary. Developers are able to pay their bills and put food on the table because of their project's fanbase. The fans who hold long conversations with others, frequent message boards, and dissect and analyze every fibre of a game to write about on a wiki are the ones responsible for keeping a franchise's heart beating. To dismiss their interest as a nuisance and as something that shouldn't warrant anything above passing interest is ingratitude.

Sonic fanboys.

They just don't seem to be able to admit that he hasn't made half decent console title since the Megadrive era!

One of these thinks Sonic Unleashed is the best game ever made....I'm not kidding and I know him personally.

His handheld outings have been okay however (Sonic Rush, Advance)
