Quick Time events that you can't skip.
When you first launch the game and your forced to look at who made/developed/colored/sketched the game for 10 seconds before it gets to the next developer
Bullet lag
Characters that stare at you and never break eye contact
Walking in a game for 20+ minutes before actually doing anything
etc.

Showing off new lighting technology by making the game too dark to see in 90% of the time. forcing you to use a flashlight, then BAM something nasty jumps out at you and you need to swap to a gun to shoot it, but wait, you can't see it now to aim... (my experiences in Doom III in a nutshell)

Another game that shows off it's lighting technology is Mirrors Edge. They make it so bright that it blinds you and causes you to plunge to your death. All the time.

In Gears 2, having a final battle that's easier than anything else in the game.

It's worse on RE4 and RE5 (more RE4) coz u just wanna enjoy the cutscenes, but u got QTE's to worry about.

The over sensitive veichles in Jak 3. I mean Seriusly, you can hit a rock that's about at big as your fist, and your car does like 5 freakin' frontflipps before it crashes and takes like 30% damage...

That game called Whiplash where you're a stupid looking rabbit tied to a stupid looking indestructible gopher-thing(?) and have to escape from an animal testing facility.

Maybe it could have been unique, but it was executed in the most obnoxious way possible.

Ask Yahtzee, he'll tell you everything you need to know. Actually just watch ZP, you'll soon get the idea.

Ya, I hate in games like Oblivion, when they want you to replay it, and have an hour long tutorial. I tend to not replay games because of the beginnings.

The worst game idea I've ever heard of was this game about an Italian firebreathing plummer who spends his days rescuing princesses from evil firebreathing turtle thingies and killing every non-firebreathing turtle that gets in his way... Oh, and did I mention that you get super.powers from eating shrooms. Can't remember what it was called though.

Either that or the thing they do on console shooters were you turn slower at first and then faster. It makes aiming a lot harder.

cross platform games where the difference in controlls matter. Shadowrun was cross platform between PC and xbox(360?) and aparently that meant that the aiming part was ultra nerfed for mouse users while xbox users got aimbot or something like that. I was actually interested in that game untill i read that.
