Very funny... I hope that wasn't just for me...

Worst community I've experienced is the RTS Community, Those that rush get mad when it doesn't work (the best offence is a good defence in the early stages of an RTS game) and those that are surprised that their obvious ambush was spotted by a human when the AI fell for it just start swearing (from my experience, they curse everything from me to their units to my units to the game map to their connection to me clearly cheating them).

But the best community can also be the RTS community. Strike up a conversation with them and if you're lucky you won't get a hyper competitive guy who thinks he's Napoleon incarnate but someone who understands you can have a nice chat while playing chess, so why not when playing an RTS.

Huh? What did I do? :O
Heh, I was about to ask the same thing...clever linking, that's all, everyone goes to their own profile...heh, I tip my hat to you Dusty. :-D

OT: Remember overhearing a game of warhammer 40K where a dreadnought had just inflicted 3 assault cannon hits on a group of scarabs, each hit resulting in an instant death (you die instantly no matter how many wounds you have on the target), which both players agreed about...
At which point this guy playing the Necrons openly and shamelessly removes one scarab and declares that he put ALL those instant kill hits on it, since it has three wounds....dear lord I couldn't believe it... :p

As to online gaming...I think it was in 'Space marine' where a guy kept playing this cartoony song in the mic, LOUDLY...and this is when you have to mute a person every-single-match...at least twice too since it reseted after every loading screen...

Yeah, I hate that guy too. What a noobtubing spawncamping arsehole.

Can't think of anyone in particular, but people who lack honour or use cheap glitches.

This chart may prove informative (too big to display directly):

I hate Tourneyfag, Bro Gamer, and Fanboi the most.
When I click link, it goes to my profile. Is this correct? Meh...

OT: the worst gamers I've encountered were on FPSs. I stopped using my microphone on XBL years ago

I wouldn't say worst but a few people on a game I was playing yesterday, had the best equipment and weapons. They had a fantastic position but they could not hold it. This is why you also need skill.

Everyone I ignore in online play. Is it bad that I only use my mic in a party, because I assume that almost no one out there in the XBLA community has anything good to say?
Those out there in the xbox community with something good to say (such as us) seem to choose not to say it due to the fact other gamers are such fools!

The worst ones are the ones who will actually take the time to send you threats and spam, just because you beat them in a game! WTF! Who actls like that!? They serously need to get anger management, and relearn how to lose a game again!

^This. I always love playing Halos online when they're new and enough of my friends are online to play with so we can party chat; once they move on to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,987 (now, with sprinkles,) I quit playing online altogether because XBL folks are just assholes. Total assholes. Literal ASSHOLES, the orifices through which waste and bile passes from a living creature in the natural digestive process.

Other than them, the worst gamer is actually my best friend who becomes fixated on ONE game (CoD) and will play nothinig else despite claiming to REALLY want to! I let him borrow Mass Effect 1 THREE times over the course of a year and he might have logged an hour and a half total. And he kept asking to borrow it! "F'real, man I'ma play it this time!" You should hear his excuses: "Man, I was gonna play it, but my dudes saw me pop online and started sending me invites to play some 'Duty, I told I was only gonna play one match.... and that was two days ago."

Let's see... A lot of players from MOBA games are pretty bad. (Not all of them)

I never understood why a lot of team based game have players who refuse to act like a team. It ruins pretty much everything. Oh, and runners in the Assassins Creed multiplayer. (Your goal is not to run the entire map just to have 100 points...).
Oh god this so much, I hate runners so much, which is why I never play Wanted, I barely ever come across people who actually try being stealthy. Manhunt is the better game type because if you aint stealthy then you will die, a lot.
Wanted is fun when everyone is not being a runner. A hidden gun tends to discipline them. Manhunt is fun when people play as a team and helps the other guy either to kill or to save.

God, I know EXACTLY what you mean, I have a friend just like that.
The worst players to voice chat with are CoD players in my experience seeing my cousins play it.

Every DotA/LoL/HoN player ever.

"Stop feeding!!"
"I put a blip on the map! WHY DIDN"T YOU COME HELP ME?!!"
"You waited too long to stun him! wtf man?"
"OMG!! Turn on auto-show health bars! NOOB!"
"Save your ultimate for later!! WHY ARE YOU NOT FOLLOWING MY PLAN THAT I HAVEN'T MENTIONED YET?"

As someone who is new to LOL, this is so very very true, the exeperienced players say all kinds of complicated stuff that they expect you to understand even though it's your first time playing or something.
And feeding, LOL logic seems to be, 1 Death=1 Feed ...

fuck those guys.
Agreed. I mean, when the whole game is based around stealing other peoples kills for profit and gold, and once losing you have 0 chance to win. How do you expect the community to act.
They also love to kick out people who don't understand something.

Xbox Online Gamers who aren't old enough to sign a contract by themselves. Mainly, and you know who I mean. The ones who run around spouting that everything is gay and stupid and fake and using swears as verbs and adjectives.

Its more or less how many people who die to that one player, because every death is a giant reward so he can just roll over you later.

I normally just hate teabaggers or the people that win and won't shut up about it. There was this one time though where I was playing halo and some guy on my team or not (I stay in the same lobby because my internet barely finds games) would constantly do everything he could to get me killed to the point where he will betray for the sniper he wants to betray me with.
On the plus side I got my revenge in one game on boneyard when I trapped him in a box for the entire game.

When i used to play WoW, i was honestly a good tank, and i knew it, i had no heirlooms, but i never directly caused a wipe....but anyway, we were doing blackrock and doing very well, my friend IRL was healing, and we were doing quite well, almost 50% done(its a HUGE dungeon) the three DPS's were a shadow priest(a complete elitist) a Hunter(new to the game, caused us to almost wipe by not managing his pet) and rouge....needless to say, whilst me and my friend sis not attract the ire of the priest, the hunter and rouges constant bickering did,(they fought over EVERYTHING.)I later learned that they were both barely 11, and already screaming IN ALL CAPS RAGE. coming up to one of the bosses(i remember it being huge) they were arguing over a rare dropped by a trash mob, and the age old "Hunter weapon" feud began, they both needed, and when the rouge won, the hunter spammed to the brink of death, and delibratly wiped us...we kicked him, but not before he needed on a healer mace, and won. later i received whispers from him stating that " You BEtter Giv me all ur Items or ill reprt u f4 hakin"

I kid you not.

basically a 10 year old threatened to ban me because someone else "Stole" his gear. That's why i don't play many online games

Nope, its not bad of you beacuse, well, you are right. xd

I have come across countless asshole on cs:s but the worst guy was on my old regular server. Everyday he would join a he usually did pretty good, the second he died though its like he turned into Ultra Hitler, he would just called everyone one a jew and then threaten to kill us all. I used to take great pleasure in head shoting him from miles away with a Deagle.

As for the actual worst player, well, just go and joina random game of L4D 1 or 2.

No one in particular, but pretty much the entire community of WoW.
When you run instances you either end up with the asocial people and the leechers, the ragequitters, the kids who think an instance shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes, and the occasional nice guy. It's not just in instances. People are rude as fuck when you're out questing as well. Stealing your mobs and quest items are their favorite methods.
I've played WoW on and off for over six years, and while the community have always been pretty bad, it wasn't until the dungeon finder came that it got really bad. Unfortunetly LOTRO has recently adapted this system as well, so I expect it to take the same direction....

Speaking of LOTRO, it can have the same problems when you're questing and some high level person is doing a deed in that area(most often the deeds want you to kill tons of a certain mob), but most of the time they either move on or let you get your mobs. If not a simple tell can make them notice you're there. In WoW you're just likely to get a "lol" in reply.
