The tanks in Red Faction:Guerrilla control like a nightmare.
Yes but the trucks are such fun...

The goddamn tank in Gears 2, one of the least fun, most badly designed levels I have had the misfortune of 'playing' (more like enduring)

That thing moves like a retarded tortoise who can't get his head out the front of his shell to see where he's going.

The only ones I can think of are the Mako (Mass Effect) and the camaro-ish thing in Half Life 2:Episode 2.
I think the car in HL2:Ep2 was designed to handle like a sack of bricks, much like the two vehicles in HL2.. I would like to think it was a clever gameplay device because it is probably a lot harder to deliberately make something handle badly using high end physics than it is to accidentally make some handle badly. Its partly because the vehicle in HL2 are supposed to be cobbled together from nothing and partly (in my mind) a parody of things that handle 'realistically' in racing games yet still suck. You must never forget the Valve sense of humour...

Mako without a doubt, or the cars in GTA 4 when compared to previous GTA cars.
That's because the previous GTA games didn't have physics engines that could make the cars seem more realistic.

Also this.

But for a non-internet game; I'd say The Hydra from Kirby's air ride, that thing was impossible to steer.

Seriously, I never understood the issue with the Mako... did they improve it for the PC version or something?
The mouse compensates for its extra sensitivity. On the 360 version, it handles something like this: http://www.crgdirectories.com/er-photos/images/4thjuly-unicycle.jpg

This may be the PC version talking for me, but the Mako just took getting used to. The thing that sucked was the terrain. Why does everything have to be in the mountains? One would think that it would be easier to have settlements and such things on plains.

This thread is gonna' open up a can of Halo flamewar worms.
actually except for the banshee (which handles worse then a german WW1 triplane) the vehicles in Halo drive pretty well, try an F-22 in Battlefield 2

But a lot of people are saying Warthog. I think most of them just didn't give the driving system a chance.

I actually found the Halo vehicles intuitive and relatively straightforward. Then again, this follows painful experiences with any car in Supercar Street Challenge (for PS2) wherein exceeding 20mph makes your car nigh-incapable of turning, and the vipers in Battlestar Galactica, which are shown doing 180 degree turns in the opening cinematic yet can only barely manage to move forward and accelerate in the actual game.
