What was your worst job? I know we've all had to pay our dues at least once, more for the less fortunate.

It could be for any reason, the job itself, the location, or even a horrible boss. I sincerely hope i'm not the only poor bastard who suffered.

Escalation line at a cell phone collections department. Hearing about how I need to give someone who is already 90 days late on paying the cellular bill because his welfare check is late that month gets really old.

I'm still at it, today I hopefully get a call to move to greener pastures.

Most of the co-workers there are absolute tossers, the work is repetitive, they give me ass all hours, and what they do give me is against my internal clock.
The managers are surprisingly nice, even for McDonalds.

/rage.

Thanks for helping me vent.

Worst job was stuffing envelopes for a marketing company. We were in a basement without air conditioning or windows...felt kind of like a dungeon.

Not criticizing or deja-nazining, but you may want to check out the The Customer is Always Wrong [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.70218#684399] thread. 27 pages of pure gold.

I once worked at a call center for The Ohio State University. I was there for a whopping 3 weeks before leaving. The hours were bad (from 5pm to 9pm. Not good for someone who commutes to school). On top of that, the job just overall sucked. Calling people for 4 hours asking people to donate money. Often, these people had never given before and clearly never planned on giving. The only good call I ever had was an old man from Florida. We talked for 40 minutes about the marching band before he gave me five dollars toward the marching band scholarship fund. Only good thing about it was the people whom I interacted with a total of about 20 minutes. Worst... Job... Ever....

I think any of these [http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-8-crappiest-jobs-of-all-time-literally] would qualify.

That I could not do, being stuck in a room with even a few other people for long periods of time with no ventilation, I would lose my mind.

Worst i've had to do is be some douchebag executives assistant for a couple of months. Guy was a tool but at least I was outside most of the time, or in a large room

Kudos to you man

I was a collator at a printing factory for 2 weeks during school holidays. 9 to 5 which wasn't so bad but I only got one half an hour break and standing the rest of the time. I had thousands of papercuts and the other people there were really creepy and kind of unfriendly. I couldn't even listen to music due to health and safety. I was putting magnets on the back of calenders for gods sake! Ah well. I bought my trusty sewing machiene with the money so it all worked out.

Worst job I ever had was working at Wal-mart. That was just awful. Management was a joke. You know, I used to wonder why, when you go into a Wal-mart, the employees always seemed bitter and resentful but now, after I had to work there for about half a year saving money for college--I completely understand.

Steak and shake

I always endded up staying late. Could not even leave to eat or bring my own lunch. Had to eat there over priced crap. It was at a 10% dicount. I quit in a week. I lost it when they told me to clean the bathroom. Me and only the manger. I threw the aprone in his face told him fuck you and left. SOB did nothing even when I was having to cook wait and work the register.
