Worst level in a good game.

Any escort level in a game to me is the worst level in the game.
I second that. People who need escorting die way too easily!
Flashback missions also tick me off at times. How can I die in a flashback? It has already happened so therefore there should be no way to fail a flashback mission.

Every map after the Tokio streets mission in Kane & Lynch.
meh. The only really good thing about Kane & Lynch was the multipleayer.
I mean who dosent want to team kill and be rewarded for it?
Well I enjoyed the urban part of the game.

Another horrible level: the first one in the Blood Harvest campaign in L4D. I hate the number of trees in that map.

The stealth mission in Beyond Good and Evil. It's probably not that bad by itself, but I suck at and hate any stealth mission. I can't say if something after that would take this place, because halfway through I quit completely.

Survival Mode in Plants vs. Zombies, if only for the reason that, after telling you exactly what would be coming in each wave for the entire game, they refuse to warn you when miner zombies are coming. And it's always one round sooner than I remember.

Water Temple in Ocarina of Time, Ice temple in FFX. Is it just me or do water/ice temples suck?

I know! The darkness didn't make sense like that, you could die unless it was a cutscene, where you found out you couldn't die.. except that you still could. Very silly.

The misson in Gears of War 2 with the boat and the huge fish thing was really annoying, mostly because it was really buggy and kept getting us stuck on top of boxes unable to move.
Also the level against Scythe or whatever his name was; sometimes we started that level dead (yeah, go figure!)

Xen was just terrible level design. Also, the second turret defense in Half Life 2 was long and horrible.
Agree with you on the first, very muchly. The second... well, I didn't have THAT much trouble, after I figured out to barricade myself in the room with the health/energy dispensers and place the turrets behind boxes so that grenades had less of a chance to knock 'em down. It turned it from aggravating to mildly annoying.

But Xen... ugh. I hope the Black Mesa remake does a better job of Xen. Cool concept, terrible execution. You could tell Valve were kind of rushing it at that point.

Hmm.... *scratches chin menacingly*

Frankly, any level that has me walking long distances while doing absolutely nothing story or fighting related bores me to death, in ANY game - good or bad. Character running speeds in many games - especially JRPGs for some reason o_O - tend to be somewhere between a gait and a slow trot in real life >.> I don't know why... though after watching some Asian girls run, I can understand where they'd get it for the JRPG females... No offense meant, but the little arm-swinging thing they do is purely entertaining to watch ^-^"

As for a specific game... hmm... I would have to say that the "dating sim" parts of Persona 3 irked me to no end. I'm here to play a game, not to take a girl to dinner or meet a guy at practice every fifteen minutes that I'm not fighting... get off my back, you ***** >.>

Also, that crap about the almighty Grim Reaper appearing when you stayed in the tower too long to whup your ass was just UGH! I thought I was supposed to be training, but apparently the game doesn't LIKE that... what the bloody hell?

EDIT: The sewer level in Parasite Eve... With the bats that blinded you every, single, fucking time >.< I know the phrase is "blind as a bat", but come on o_O

343: ohh, whats this *flys around like Master Chief is not getting eaten alive*
MC: AHHHHH HELP ME!!!
somehow, after a long, harrowing gun battle with enemies who refuse do die (so many your motion tracker is red) you survive with a blip of health, walk though the door only to get hit my a rocket held by a flood just as "Checkpoint" pops up on your HUD

There was this one level in Call of Duty 1 where you had to go through a dam to the very bottom, plant explosives, and then go back up. Well, anyone who has ever played Call of Duty 1 knows what level I'm talking about and what a pain in the ass it was. Every single room looked exactly the same and while the first time you go through it, there are enemies everywhere to let you know you're going the right way, they're all dead the second time around so there's no telling if you're going the right way. I had already beaten the game and was replaying on Veteran and it was still hard to get through even though I had already beaten the damn level. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please share your disgust of that level with me. I know someone has to know what I'm talking about.
Yeah, but that wasn't the most frustrating level in that game for me. For me it was the level where you had to capture and defend some building in the middle of the snow. For some reason that level was always a pain for me.

The level where you had to help the British guy escape was a pain when I first went through, but it was pretty easy afterwards.

The sewer level in Parasite Eve was a wench, but great for the EXP it gave. I just hate the bats... *adds that to my list*

The Escort Level in Bioshock was annoying too. I turn around to kill a splicer, no enemies attacking in worrisome numbers, and I turn around to find that the Little Sister is being torn to shreds while I stand there, watching helplessly. I make it through with the Little Sister barely alive, and i can't heal her. That was the worse part.
