When I spent close to a year trying to get a stupid slime crown in Dragon Quest 8, because I sold the one I found by accident!

On CoD WaW, Roundhouse. Killed seven (no joke) consecutive times when spawning. The spawns on that game ARE a joke.

Killing a Vaelestraz in WoW every week for 8 months just waiting for my last piece of Tier 2 gear to drop.

Left 4 Dead has like a billion moments of bad luck. Last one alive on Expert and thinking, "Yes, my teammates are finally back!" and seeing them in a closet after taking out a smoker, boomer, and hunter alone. Then the moment I walk into the room to open the closet Mr. Tank comes out and punches me like out into an ally and proceeds to destroy me.

I think alot of people have CoD4 moments to put here and I could list about 1000 times where ive spawned on grenades or an enemy has spawned behind me etc, but everyone gets that on CoD4, my very worst luck would be:

Spawning on a claymore.
Spawning infront of an already-fired sniper bullet.

Left 4 dead playing expert. We finally manage to take the tank down, with me on the floor and one other person standing. The other 2 were dead and just as we thought "Whew fianlly the tanks down, then that tone plays and hundreds of zombies come prouing out of everywhere.

In Stalker on hell difficulty, having just evaded a massive military chase, with no medkits and little ammo left, i think "hooray finally got past them, they wont be able to find me again if i run though these bushes, Oh shit!!!! theres dogs and boars everywhere fuckfuckfuck!!!!"

For some reason Mario Kart springs to mind here... racing really well, being in first the whole way then several blue shells or something similar smash into me and knock me into fifth or something equally as bad. Seems to happen a lot more with the newest one for some unknown reason.
Yeah that game provides the biggest sucks of all.

EDIT: I really hate being shat on for racing well. I mean really WTF, WTF, WTF, WTF!!!

Getting chased across all four islands by the police in GTA IV. Getting out the car because it's about to explode and shooting a helicopter with an RPG. Then getting killed by the same fucking helicopter.

What does this term mean?
Presumably he means waiting a few seconds before throwing it. This means that the person you're throwing it at has less time to react.

Aaah, okay. Thanks.

But remember: a cooked can of beans always pops (nods sagely)

My horrible luck manifests its self in nearly all online gaming I do. Mostly in Call of Duty. If you hear something along the lines of "enemy airstrike" or "enemy mortars", get the fuck away from me, because like clockwork, I'm always killed with the first bomb or mortar. Always.

I exist so that other people may have good luck.

It's not really unknown, the game is built like that to artificially balance it so that bad players can have a chance to win every now and then.
Lol, 'unknown reason' is just something I say everynow and then. When you see someone in 12th roar up into third using a bullet bill you know the game is designed for balance (and downright annoyance) :)

Definitely in Rugby 08. There was this one match where EVERYTHING went wrong. All my kicks and drop goals hit the posts, my hooker caused me to lose all my scrums, I lost about 50% of rucks even when I 4 players in the ruck and my opponent 1 or 2, my useless hooker (again) gave away all my lineouts, one of my Wings and my Second Row got injured... it was unbearable.
I love that game! Nobody else seems to have it though, I can't wait for the 2011 one.

I can't remember the worst, but I remember the first time I found out that cars in Fallout 3 exploded when shot.

It was that one town...Minefield?
I started getting sniped at, so I took cover behind a car. The car took a few shots, and it started to flame, but I was busy trying to aim (scoped revolver hooray) and once I realized I couldn't see the guy, I noticed the near-exploding car...and moved just in time to catch most of the blast and land right on a mine.
That happened to be, except I didn't notice the car and died. That wasn't my worst luck, though.

There was that time in Oblivion where I tried getting the spell from Cloud Top using the Welknyd stone and shock spell...I had a Mage Apprentice, Dark Brotherhood Murderer, Chestnut Horse, Flame Atronach, and Adoring Fan all standing near me. After surviving the Lighting bolt, I realized that it had been radius based and saw them all dead around me...and then I reloaded from right before I used the pillar. But, still...that was bad. This was 2 days ago, actually.

Back in the days of the Burning Crusade in WoW, it took me 20 weeks to get an epic healing mace.
