Worst "Numbered/Single Player" Final Fantasy

Out of the ones I've played (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12) my least fave is 12. But I also have not been hearing such great things about 2 and 5 from my friends.

I was gunna reply to the people whining about the plot of VIII, but then I realised I could not be bothered as its 11:23 pm and infact, I dislike Irvine. anyway, XII was horrific and the battle system was not nice. And I also do not care for the shocking X-2.

Oh sure, you could work around that. But you shouldn't have to. And the plot twists made me want to cry...

- five minutes later once the mission is underway and cannot be aborted - "I want my mommy! I haven't actually killed anyone, I'm just a bigmouthed pussy! This rifle of mine is just for show!"

Dear god I remember that moment. WHY would the Garden assign you a pussy gunman who fucking chokes on the job!? The school HAS to be run by retarded moogles...there's no other way.

Yeah.. One would assume they'd have made even superficial checks on his claims of grandeus/expertise but... And that moment of feeling completely betrayed by the story team isn't even the only one. Many were the times the game plot made me want to puke due to utter inconsistency and illogicality of it all.

Out of the ones I've played, X. I like the sphere grid thing, but PLOT and DIALOGUE. Maybe you have to get to a certain point and then it gets interesting. If so, that's shitty design. Worst one I've never played but heard about is .JP II.

Best one I've played is VI. Best one I've never played but have heard about is IX.

You mean IX?

FF2 was a nice divergence from the norm, but it was really easy to exploit. If you only ever had one character in the front, they ended up being impossible to hit and you could just stall out bosses while you protect/shell your party until you are taking single digit damage.

Personally, FFX was really annoying, but FFVIII's junctioning system made everything a huge pain.

And, yes, he was the only person in the gang who actually remembered their past.

He never stated that was the reason.

He just said "I don't do good in pressure moments."

Also that part that they all knew each other is one of the worst plot twists ever made!

that coupled with Sorceress "what the hell Am I doing in this game" Ultimecia make FF8 one of the worst stories in gaming. It makes Duke Nukem 3D script something that shoudl win a nobel.

I got really confused because I couldn't remember Relm really talking to anybody except Strago. Not to mention that Celes is the main protagonist in the second half, which makes things even more confusing.

From the ones I've played (7-10,12), Final Fantasy IX is the worst I've played.

FF2 Japan is the worst of what I've played.

I've only played every one up to 6 though, so I don't know if one above 7 is worse than 2...

I'm going to say, 2 or 3. I didn't really like either. :[ 1 and 4 are sick though.

FF3 and 6 are my favourites of the series.
