Its a tie between Navi, Peppy and Slippy.

Slippy........Definitely Slippy. I can't recall who Navi is.
"Hey, listen?" Does it ring a bell?

No?

The annoying fairy in Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. How about now?

Did anybody else notice in RE5 that the support AI doesn't shoot? I was in one of the later levels in an area that spawns baddies from every direction. This would ideally be a great opportunity for teamwork, i.e. I take one direction and she takes the other. During that fight, I was hit in the back by guys with stun rods no fewer than four times, having to heal repeatedly (for those unfamiliar with the game, the stun rod guys move very slowly and pause in front of you before attacking at very close range, plenty of tim for her to shoot them). The worst part was that *I* had to turn and shoot them myself, as the AI didn't feel like it. I even equipped her with a magnum with infinite ammo and se refused to shoot. wtf?

A more controversial one. The Little Sister at the end of Bioshock - Just walk on by woman, please! During my first play through I was sure letting one of them die to the splicers would lose me an achievment so I was especially gutted for her to die to the last Big Daddy >.< Later on I find that there was no achievment/consequence for letting Little Sisters die....Wheres my Human Shield! Despite this momentary lapse in protection I still got the good ending - so I won't be too harsh about them.

Any character which I know will subsequently betray me (even if its just on *instinct* rather than actual knowledge)but the game forces you to help them.
Oh, it's not contraversial. I totally agree on both counts.

Those of you with long memories might recall me saying that Bioshock was one of those games I could never be bothered to finish. Well, I had it spoiled for me, and it sounded so interesting that I went back to it and completed it. It does have a fantastic twist (although it's pretty much identical to the one from System Shock 2 in all but one element) and one of the most memorable character deaths I can think of in any game I've played. Unfortunately, after that point the game just turns to c--p. It's to do with the way that you lose your powers. I don't mind the "cold yellow" thing, it just adds an extra challenge; but the "new" villain is an ass with about a tenth of the charisma or menace of the "old" one, the "plasmid switching" thing is just annoying - you're in a pitched battle with splicers and suddenly your weapon disappears? How's that fun? - and later on, you get stuck in a cumbersome suit that restricts your vision (something that should never be done in any game, ever) and have to do a tedious, difficult escort mission with splicers coming from everywhere and with your peripheral vision reduced to the point that it feels as though you can't even see where they are. Not to mention the fact that you STILL have to wear the thing through the final battle with a pretty difficult opponent - you'll probably have enough power-ups that you can make it through ok, but it's a fairly wild ride, and being stuck in that stupid suit doesn't help matters.
