Anyway I find FatM singing abrasive and damn near irritating as "mezzo"-sopranos go i wish half the time she would keep an octave but she goes up an down like no ones business the only good thing i can say about that is at least she's not boring to listen to. Also because she sings with her voice -lets say- up and down me personally i find it hard to gauge a single emotion i won't call it "schizophrenic" but it's off putting

Yes, she multi-octaves... but she's allowed to, because she actually can. And she doesn't go up-and-down-and-up-and-down, she goes up as the song builds and down as it pulls back. It's called "structure".

I'm not saying your opinion is invalid - I'm sure you don't like Florence - but I've never gotten a really valid reason why from anybody beyond "she sings within her abilities" or silly exaggeration. That's not a good reason.

You can only get a valid reason for quality, taste is another thing entirely.

And I didn't use schizophrenic to describe her (Hell, Ol Dirty Bastard style is more that ) just that how i find the singing (often) is off putting and i also didn't say she was "random" either she's very much in time with the music.

Forgive me for the generalisations (my fault) but your examples, which i've heard before i found boring, the songs as a whole i mean. you presented something sombre, up beat and reflective and all they gave me was dreary, eyerrolling and well, boring. Again the songs as a whole not her individually.

The group as a whole play nothing i can say i like.

Well, "boring" is a hell of a better reason than what I usually get from Florence haters. So you win, I guess!

To me, personally, I hate all Adele songs for sounding the same, and being mopey, with her overrated voice. However, I think I have 3 that qualify as joint worst:
Fine China by Chris Brown (mainly for the idea behind it, and the whole "I'm not dangerous" line)
N****s in Paris: shittiest rhymes, most irritating beat, just awful
That respect and obey authority thing by those brainwashed kids.
In general, modern rap should be a gold mine for this thread since all it does is talk about some new dance or how awesome the rapper is. I was never a huge fan of proper rap music, but at least they had something good to say...

On reflection whilst typing, I think Kanye and Jay-Z take it due to the line: "That shit Kray, ain't it Jay? What she order, fish fillet?"... just... just shocking...

Um, if "Niggas in Paris" (Can we say that here? It's the name of the song, if not, sorry.) is one of the worst rap song you've heard, then you are one lucky individual. But that's just me. Also, gonna be that guy here, what gets play on top 40 stations is not all there is to modern rap by a long shot. To clarify, I'm not trying to hate on you, denigrate your opinion, or even say you're wrong, I was just surprised that a fairly inventive, if somewhat offensive, song made it on your list is all.

Moving on, I'd say the worst thing I've ever heard is...well honestly it depends on my mood. I can't remember song names, cuz I don't listen to what I hate, but Taio Cruz may have one of the worst HipHop/R&B/Dance careers ever, though the Black Eyed Peas are bloody awful as well. Also, I'm not the type to hate on Country, but that one song that goes "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy" gets on my nerves, when I hear it I feel like it lacks real honesty, and is just trying to be a "deep and thoughtful" song, when it's radio shite. My two cents. Take 'em or leave 'em.

For more radio oriented fare, 'We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus is prettymuch a checklist of everything wrong with current pop music.

How does... how does that become an entire genre rather than one guy's solitary assault on his audio software?

EDIT: I went investigating, and I learned some stuff.

1. Speedcore (300-500 BPM), Splittercore (500-900 BPM) and Extratone (900+ BPM) are considered "Noise" subgenres. This means that it's basically Merzbow if he went off his meds and turned up ALL the dials.

2. It seems to have spawned from some guy saying "I wonder how fast this sample will go!"

3. It rarely has any care put into it, it's just hyper-sped samples. From a classically trained viewpoint, it has basically no merit.

4. This exists.

Because that's how I interpreted your sentence, as you replied to a post containing a song by said artist / group that is basically completely comprised of autotune bullshit.

I'm not sure, I've only heard one Brokencyde song and had no desire to experience more. But the song in question did have autotune, but not the kind that Design the Skyline has. There's terrible autotune (most), then there is abysmal autotune (Design the Skyline song). A fine line, but a line nevertheless.

First of all, someone actually did post that on the first page. Second, I don't understand the hate for that song. I just heard it for the first time, and honestly I had a pretty good time with it, in a Punk sort of way. It was very Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

Mando's dupstep is generic as hell, but I wouldn't call it "the worst music ever" or even particularly bad, just not notable for anything.

I've only heard the song the guy you originally quoted had provided as well, but it pretty much has the same kind of autotune. There's not really a difference, other than the style of singing, both of which are about as horrible as they come.

I know its not the worst song for everyone, but it just greets on me so much, nothing sounds right, everything that beat through the song sounds wrong and that breath in near the beginning of the song actually my spine have a cold shiver

Not a great fan of that song either and the video gets to me too. If you're a band called Imagine Dragons and your song is called Radioactive, I expect a minimum of 8 radioactive dragons battling over a post-nuclear apocalyptic landscape in your video. A fighting teddy bear just ain't going to cut it.

Though according to the idiot on the radio station, this song has "everything", so what do I know about music really?
