This is one of the worst thngs they can do ever since remaking Tron. Hollywood is now making a remake of Red Dawn coming this November 22nd. If you haven't seen the original see that before you see the new one.

There was a remake of Tron? Since when?

[small]And no, don't try to tell me Tron: Legacy was a remake. That's called a "sequel", my dear Link55, not a "remake". And it was awesome.[/small]

I didn't think 'Tron: Legacy' was bad, I actually quite enjoyed it. Though, I've never seen the Original, so I have no prior experience from which to judge it.

The original Red Dawn was awesome, even if the setup was feverish:

The backstory is that the Soviets are using their allies in Cuba and Nicaragua to invade the United States from the Gulf through the center of the country. The Soviets also somehow managed to nuke Kansas City and other places at the time vital for communication in the country without retaliation beyond the nuking of China, the remainder of which turn on the Soviets. Also, THEY INVADED IN THE FIRST PLACE!

But despite that, it did a good job of showing guerilla warfare, forest survival, and the like, with a basic emotional element in the characters. Great film.

Remake? Doomed. Like The Inbetweeners USA. Doom.

I still think rebooting Spider-Man was unnecessary

The last one wasn't even 10 years old, why remake it!?

And 3D re-releases. They should not exist. I'm looking at YOU, Finding Nemo 3D!

O.O

That's me keeping an eye on it

They're making 'Paradise Lost' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1486813/ into a film. Three films actually. There is nothing Hollywood won't turn into a film no matter how unimaginably stupid it will be. Also 'Tron Legacy' wasn't that bad in my opinion, certainly not the worst thing in recent memory.

Before Marvel was bought by Disney, the sold the movie rights to several of there big franchises (Spider Man, Fantastic 4, X-Men, and probably others). However, one of the conditions of keeping the rights is they have to keep making movies. So, the reboot was purely so they don't lose movie rights.

On-Topic, the worst thing Hollywood has ever done is make a movie based off of Battleship. Because obviously when I'm playing Battleship, my first thought is "man, this would be a great premise for a Hollywood blockbuster!"

What remake? I remember a sequel that kicked giant amounts of ass. I don't remember no remake.

I thought the sequel was quite good, although people would probably say I have a horrible taste in movies. But maybe we should give Red Dawn just a little chance before it releases.

I liked it, and the music was by Daft Punk, which was brilliant.

The remake of Red Dawn has been around for awhile, it just hasn't been released.

First of all, Tron: Legacy wasn't a remake, secondly, it was awesome. Especially some of the music

I hate the Expendables with a passion to me it is everything wrong with Hollywood and even consumer mentality. They just took as many well know actors as possible and through them into a movie. They literally had nothing going for them other than look who is in this movie. They had no plot no character development even the action wasn't anything special. It was just a big slap in the face to anyone who values quality over popularity.

Hey, Hollywood, I dare you to remake 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Citizen Kane and Dirty Harry.

Why do people complain about remakes? It's not like the remake makes the original shit if it's made poorly.

The worst thing Hollywood has done is inspire talentless hacks to try and pass themselves off as high minded simply by mocking it. See: Rubber.

At least they are remaking a movie that is about 30 years old, and more relevant now than back then... If a remake of Red Dawn is the worst thing Hollywood does and you can thing of, you are in for a mildly happy life.

Its not like they are so empty of ideas that they have to remake movies that are less than 10 years old. Oh wait:
