ok so heres the thing I used MCedit in 4 ways + the chest

1. If I get a black screen wen going to the nether I lose all my suff on hand and the only time I go to the nether is to move things form my bases so I lose a LOT of suff.

So I would go into MCedit and place the suff I lost in my base as blocks that I have to remine
(sill a pain in the ass wen you lose a inv full of cob/sand/ stacks of obsidian exe..)

2. deleteing parts of the map I dont go to anymore to save space

self explanatory

3. tradeing blocks for blocks

I go to my incinerator and put in the thing im tradeing then go into MCedit and place the thing I traded for

1 stack of cob = 3 Diamond

now if I made all that stone into picks I could mine x2 the D pick but I put in a stack to make up for the rarity of Diamond

wen It comes down to sumthing you cant make into a tool I go by time it takes to mine and rarity

1 stack of obsidian = 37 stacks of cob
as obsidian is not rare (just add water!) I only go by mineing time If it was moss cob I add rarity.

The way I see it is that if you can trade online and at sumpoint towns are going to be added (maybe a shop?) + the fact I trade fare and that I sill have to mine it, I dont see how this is cheating.

4. moveing bases

At sumpoint I will stop going back to my old bases and the game would have so much things added ther would be nothing back ther I would want, So I would move my old bases neer my new ones.

now I sill build all the suff myself and I sill call myself legit and I think is this not cheating But do you?

The Question would you call me a cheater? and for wich if not all of these?

take in mind that I could just as easily, lie, not trade fare, and use MCedit to build or use mods

Zomg, it's hackers like you who are destroying the industry! And deleting the map!!!!! D: !!eleven"!" Mojang shuld su you 4 breaking the EULA and shit, u ditry rotten hacker!
¬.¬

I used INVedit to get the raw resources to start building a cathedral, soooooooo not sure that'd I would have any ground to stand on if I were to take offence at you doing what you wanted in a single player game...

The only use I've had for MCedit thus far was deleting a chest with a defunct mod item in it that was crashing the shit out of my game, but the potential to so easily make changes is a nice one to have as a backup.

Ok, first, a stack of cobble for three diamonds? Are you insane? The exchange rate where you are must be amazing! :p

Second, no. It isn't. Yeah, it's bending the rules, and yeah, technically, you should earn those supplies, but you aren't damaging anyone's experience but you're own.

The way I see it, nowadays, it ain't cheating unless you're fucking someone else's fun up.

I went by item durability
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Item_Durability

1 D pick hads 1562 one stone has 132

one stack of stone can make 21 stone picks

21x132 = 2772

more then the 1562 the D pick has

3 is undoubtedly cheating. It's like saying "is using an aimbot cheating, because if i didn't use it i could just use my mouse to aim at targets instead".
Of course, since it's just your own experience you're messing with, i don't care, and neither should you. Just don't be in denial trying to pretend you aren't cheating.

how do you move bases and clear map parts? Is theres a map editor!? Could you send me a please?

If yours having fun what does it matter what your doing (in game)... unless your going for bragging rights then yeah that would be cheating

You could hack in all the blocks you want and I wouldn't consider it cheating. I'd only consider it a time saving measure.

I really don't understand why people get so upset about people doing that.

It isn't cheating at all precisely because the game has no defined rules governing success. What it does have are mechanics that allow for play, which a player could then implement a set of rules upon in order to make a game. Unless one has done this and the actions described by the OP violate said rules then it is in no way cheating.

Not that it really matters, but if you're just gonna INVedit everything in why not just play creative?

The whole point of survival is that you work for your resources. Sure you did your Cobblestone > Diamond conversion rate, but you know find well finding diamond isn't a simple as that.

Also, it took me ages to figure out what Cob meant.

I don't really care. Are you gaining an advantage over me in a way that is against the rules and affects my enjoyment of the game? No you can do what you like. If you need to seek validation over using tools to make the game easier for yourself then maybe you should just not use tools to change the game play.

This all started cuz the black screen and you can just trade online and its not cheating (as the tradeing thing is the only one I see you can call cheating)

and yes I was going for do I sill have bragging rights thing but I just wanted to beable to point out the cool things I made with out sumone lowering the value by saying its not letgit.

I used to look at the forums for a lot of it and not using invedit or MCedit gives your more credit but as long as the thing you build is awesome and earth shattering, no one seems to care, but then again crappier things also get bumped up because its all legit

so you could lie, redo it, get friends to help, or just build something extraordinarily amazing

No. This is singleplayer, and even then. For my server I used MCedit to work on the server. I use invedit all the time anyways.

Apart from getting back items you lost due to a game crash or bug, using a tool like MCedit to do the stuff you described is subverting the intentions of Minecraft.

However, we're talking about a single-player game, with no goals and no win condition. So really, if you're at peace with it, does it really matter? I used to cheat in single player games all the time when I felt like it, the only thing I'm losing is doing things the right way, and if I don't care, then what's the issue?

Yeah, I would say using MCedit Takes away half the credit to bragging rights. Though not all. But it is more impressive to have had to work for everything. For instance, getting a stack of stone is way easier than getting 3 diamonds. It's about credit where effort is due in regards to bragging rights.

1. Not as I see it. I have no qualms restoring items that are rightfully mine that were lost due to glitches.

2. No. I don't consider map trimming to reclaim disk space cheating at all. Except in cases where you're generating a new chunk when you strip mined it for resources, that is, without question, cheating.

3. Oh, dear, we are bending the rules aren't we? It's nice that you're sacrificing something for ill gotten gains, but lots of cobble for a few diamonds? That's a bit less than fair.
