Yes. No. Obviously they are different things. But if the rationale is not to kill living things, that's problematic, because they are alive. They're a part of of the ecosystem and ingesting large quantities of grain is killing those grains. And in eating grains, what are you saying? Well, grains are lesser beings in the world of living things, so because they don't talk or moo, it's totally okay to terminate their lives. All veganism is doing is scaling back the bar of what you consider "lesser creatures". Those who eat meat are okay with the fact that we're slaughtering several species that are less intelligent than us. Vegans set the bar lower to "less intelligent and
less interactive than typical animals". There's nothing different about it. Vegans, go big or go home. Clearly you need to go "breatharian" if you want to cause no harm to living things.
