No, i have no problem with people who are vegan that's there choice an i respect that. However i do think that it's a monumentally stupid thing to do health wise. Humans evolved as omnivorous an we need a balanced diet for our body to function properly. Vegans are missing our on some key nutrients that are only found in meat and the only way they can get them is by supplements which is kinda cheating. What annoys me is the self righteous types that say people don't need to eat meat and try to convince you that it's just something you have been programed to do. Which is bull shit, look at your teeth. They are formed to both chew plant matter AND meat...evolution doesn't do shit without a reason. (yes i know that's not quite true but it's close enough)

That's not true, our dentition and inner workings are not closer to herbivorous. We have not got enough stomachs for one thing nor do we posses a long enough intestinal tract, most plant matter is hard to brake down and our stomachs are not equipped with the correct enzymes or bacteria to brake down cellulose like herbivorous. Add to this the fact that our stomach acid is at the perfect pH to denature the proteins in meat and thus aide digestion and the only conclusion you can come to is that we are meant to have a diet of meat and plant matter.

Well grain screams in the ultrasonic range when cut so it obviously knows some thing bad is happening and dude have you ever been around sheep. They really are not capable of thought if the are at the edge of a clip they get stuck because they is too dumb to figure out how to walk backwards. without farmers to take care of the they end up in a hell of a state. They are literally just waiting around to be eaten. Plant's are smarter than you think and a lot of animals are dumber than you think.

Why does a rose have thorns, it has thorns because it does not want to be eaten and plant's are capable of moment they move to follow the sun (their food) they sense it and actively move their bodies to follow it. Is this really any different than a sheep grazing in a field.

I agree that that argument is nonsense: For example, the example of "omnivore" given is almost invariably "bear" (possibly either because "pig" would kill their argument, or because they're not aware of that).

I'm vegan. Have been for almost 5 years. Haven't eaten meat in almost 10.

You can say what you want about what humans are or are not "meant" to do. It's irrelevant to me. You can be a healthy meat eater and you can be a healthy vegan. You can also be an unhealthy meat eater or vegan (Captain obvious, right?)

But the industries that supply these products to people can be absolutely horrible. Both in an ethical and environmental sense. Even the best free range meats are still going to feel pain as they are slaughtered. Not everyone is going to care about that, but I am and that's why I won't eat meat.

I love animals, so I try to live a lifestyle that causes minimal harm to them. It's simple, really.

I'm an Ova-Lacto, although it's more like Ova only. I eat eggs to subsidize my protein needs. In my country the options are quite limited so eggs seem to be the best alternative.

Oddly enough there are a few vegetables off limits as well to 'Vegans' in Thailand. Garlic and celery I believe are two of them. Also, I don't think garlic constitutes a vegetable.
