Few seem to like the Light Side here. Probably because their code implies that they should strive to be emotionless paragons, viewing the world dispassionately and searching for perfection and power through meditation, while denying any relationships and attachment. This is stuffy, boring, and a religious analogy (Monks and Nuns... with super-powers). This is competing with a balls-out DO WHATEVER YOU FEEL LIKE AND BE AWESOME philosophy of the Sith. Which apparently leads to inevitable betrayal and a complete lack of empathy for others, in spite of its origins in "passion." Sounds like a hot and close relationship turned into a horrid breakup, where intense love becomes intense hate. And apparently this is inevitable? Well, that sucks too.
This is why the Gray option is appealing. You don't have to live by an Objective code of morality (DS points/LS points) when really everything is subjective. Would you sacrifice the life of one person to save worlds of people? According to the Objective code, that's dark-side. An evil act is an evil act, even if for the greater good. KotOR fans might remember a quiz on such details when questioned by the robotic Star Map on Kashyyk. And that the only winning strategy was considered "dark-side." This irked me slightly, but it does teach us why so many Jedi fell to the dark side after the Mandalorian war. Because you cannot fight a war and win without sacrifice. And no matter your intentions, sending people to die in order to kill other people is inevitably evil.
In reality, I'd live as slightly-light side, slightly gray.
(I've been watching the Clone-Wars cartoons, even though they suck. Does it annoy anybody else how completely uncaring everybody is towards the death of anybody wearing a helmet? Not that that's my most major annoyance with it... In one Ahsoka runs a clone through with her lightsaber, then says in an uncaring, conversational voice 3 seconds later, "he was my friend." And THAT'S supposed to be light-side?)
