Would You Restart Your Life?

Yeah, I'd probably restart just so I could go, "they're going to fly jets into the World Trade Center! Also, Oklahoma City is going to be bombed at some point! And the Unibomber is Ted Kacynski! And don't vote for Bush!" I probably wouldn't be listened to, but I would forever be known as the 13 year old who predicted 9/11. Hmm. I'd also put more effort into getting to know certain girls in school and being more openly funny. If I had known just how little junior high school mattered, there would be a couple bullies with some unpleasant memories of times they got their asses beat.

A girl I had a huge crush on is now happily married to a guy she met in college. Would it be unethical to try to steer her to me in the past, in essence crushing her hopes and dreams, but probably making my life a zillion times better? I know the name of her future husband, I know where and how she will meet him, and I know they'll be happy together. However, I also know enough about her now to know how attainable she was in high school, her likes and dislikes, and her overall personality. I'm not sure what I would do in that situation. Maybe try to be a friend? It's a very Back To The Future situation in which she was seriously injured and fell in love while being nursed back to health. Should I let that happen, too?

And record a couple of Justin Bieber songs. And invest heavily in Apple Computers (or get my parents to do so). Maybe get in on the internet stock bubble early and get out early.

Absolutely. I'm a 20 year old male and i feel as though my life has been an endless succession of regrets and false imprisonment. I loathe what i have become and fear what i may be becoming. I'd like another roll of the dice.

100% yes. It would give me the chance to say goodbye to loved ones that have died and I would be a whizz in school...

I always wanted to know how different my life would be if certain factors were changed, like my name, or my friends, but never wanted to actually restart my life

Definitely. For all the bullsh*t people will no doubt spew about how they don't want to relive their life, secretly they still have mistakes they'd rather not have made, situations they would have wanted to deal with differently, and most importantly, to delay the ever present death, for we all fear and respect him, whatever we say.

Tis is a hard question to answer. If I could change events of the past in my favor, then yes. If it was unchangeable like 12 Monkeys, then hell no! I do not want to relive my life with knowing what is going to happen and I am unable to stop it.

Dude, nice avatar!

OT:

I'd like to wind my birth years back a couple, so I could watch WWE when it was dark, edgy and awesome! Not the mediocre PG crap today. I'm good with the rest of my life though.

Part of me would like to, but in the end no I wouldn't, yes I've made mistakes, and I have regrets. But I believe that everything happens for a reason, and that in the end, everything I've done is for a greater, unknowable good.

At first I'd say yes, but I'm happy with the friendships I have, and I fear that if I met them again when they were younger they'd be insufferable to me and it'd break my heart to lose one in particular, so no.

Yes. One thousand times yes. If I could restart with the knowledge that I currently possess, my life would be so much better. I would be able to avoid doing stupid things and making bad decisions when I was younger. I'd be able to pass school with flying colours, too! Probably skip a few grades, too...

I'd probably be able to impress people with intellect and maturity far surpassing that of other children.

Holy hell yeah.

I have often thought about the ability to 'restart' with my currentknowledge.
Make things a hell of a lot easier.

Even though my (short) life has been filled with terrible mistakes, I would not redo it. Because the world will be different if you take a different path, so it would be the same shit all over again, perhaps with worse outcomes.
And I am quite happy with how my life's been lately. It's not ferpect, and I can improve, but I am young, so plenty of time to work away my flaws

Would you want to restart your life with the intelligence you currently have?
I probably would.
perhaps in a few decades when i actually get out of school and get to do stuff, though that would be kind of akward. i guess i would now, because i have made many many MANY mistakes in the past, and thanks to my own overreactions to things, made my company and my life in general alot shittier at times than it really needed to be.\

Capatcha: caloymec road. anyone know where that is?

I wouldn't restart my ENTIRE life, but I'd gladly go back to the last checkpoint--the beginning of high school.

No way, I think I'm almost halfway, not gonna go through the same shit again. Plus I'd have to wait ages to get some new music or games.

Yes, not only to erase mistakes I made, but to relive my childhood, which is nearly over. There are so many things which I would change...

Not that I don't like my life at the moment, it's fantastic, just I would like a second chance at some things.
