Deathwing sounds like a Transformer!

I'm pretty sure their is a Transformer acctualy called Deathwing...

it was... nice. But I expected more chin.

I felt somewhat jaded - was expecting more. Might be what Blizzard was looking for - just like it was lacking depth

I think it's meh. Deathing doesn't do a whole lot other than fly around all "HEY GUIZ LEWK AT MEH!"

This is such utter meh'ness... It's making me sad.

Cool eye candy though.

I mean, let's be honest here. We watch their videos for the eye candy (and the awesome cinematography, but that falls under "eye candy"), and this was awesome eye candy.

Much better than Classic/BC intros, IMO. Not sure if I like it as much as the WotLK one.

Funk, I'mma let you finish, but the Classic intro was the best intro every made.

I really liked the Original/BC Intros. They were more about showing what you will become rather then who you'll be facing ehich I though was way more interesting. They also had a mage turning someone into a sheep so whats not to love

Eh, in retrospect I find them way too scattered and unfocused. It's PLAYER CHARACTERS! DOING COOL THINGS! AWESOME POSE! VIOLENCE!

With the WotLK and now Cata intros, they're definitely more cohesive.

Yea, WotLK has been my favorite intro so far. The older intros weren't really that engaging because they didn't really do anything other than show off their animations.

There's a powerful and ironic parallel between what Teranas is saying and what Arthas does(i.e. 'I know you'll wield your newfound power responsibly.', Cue Arthas wildly abusing his powers). It actually made you think of something. That's what make the WotLK intro awesome, and it's something this intro is missing.

But it does still show Deathwing doing what he does best - so I'm not complaining. .

You forgot everyone's favourite, apparently Cataclysms Tier 1 or 2 raid boss which also was the first major challenge for the guilds in early days of Warcraft - Ragnaros! The fluffy ball of flames makes a return as well.
For let it be known, that Metzen can perform miracles beyond our understanding, etc.

Well, we always knew that we weren't killing Ragnaros, just his avatar in this plane. So I don't have a problem with that. Nef and Ony were dead. But, I suppose they're being brought back as undead dragons, so... I guess that's fine?

Awesome, can't wait. Though all the scenes with him having metal armor put on him wouldn't make much sense unless you know the lore.

You might be right but i felt it looked like they were re-armoring deathwing, i mean he's been armored for a while now, i think it was adamant he was clad in. Then he disappeared for a long time. i feel like the entire cinematic is meant to take place recently. So it looks to me like he's getting some shiny new metal scales.

I am so glad Blizzard can make pretty cutscenes and mediocre gameplay and cliche fantasy plots and somehow still turn not just a profit, but the only profit worth mentioning in its market.

I REALY cannot wait to play the thousand needles after it's flooded, i mean that was already a cool area, but after it's flooded you'll be able to experience an entire new level to the area, Swimming around those thousand foot pillars, fighting monsters in the deep sounds like a very cool scene to me.

I agree. Everything Classic is overrated. WoW is much better now than it was back in Vanilla.

Except for the cinematics. I will admit, however, that this cinematic filled me with much more dread than the WotLK one did; that cinematic really didn't do much for me.

Umm, didn't the Escapist recently run an article talking about how Mr. Kotick wanted to bundle the Starcraft 2 CGI cutscenes together and sell them? That's what I was getting at.

After reading the article and then watching the video I was a little disappointed. Sure it looked nice, but there wasn't much there. I expected to see more of Azeroth burning, the landmasses changing and its immediate consequences. The bits that were there were amazing (thousand needles flooding, the dam breaking etc), unfortunately there just wasn't enough!

Oh man, I thought the music was great - especially the bit at ~1:45 which is essentially that iconic "entering Stormwind" theme, just in a darker, corrupted rearrangement. Which... fits nicely with what's going on.

Oh I didn't know bout the Theme. I was to busy with awing at it. ._.
I personaly thought it was pretty awsome. Specialy seeing like the Goblin statue at BB, the Zeplin, and all that.
Though honestly, if you wanna talk bout quotes, best one in my opinion was the end of the Fall of the Lich King trailer. "Let them come....Frostmourne Hungers...*epic vocal bit*"
