WTF moments in gaming

So today I was replaying Borderlands after letting it sit for a few months and noticed something pretty ridiculous. When you kill any enemy they tend to groan as they fall to the ground. Totally legit. However, if you headshot them and their head explodes they still tend to groan. How the hell does something without a head groan?

What things in games have you noticed that makes absolutely no sense?

Saints Row 2's police AI. It doesn't matter to them what you drive, they always assume cars can go there too... so if I take a helicopter and hover just a bit out away from the coast they'll still charge you with all they have, plunge into the water and sink their car.
But it's funny so I forgive it.

Today I was playing gta 4 and got to a part where I had to protect mob boss #9846 during a deal with another group of gangsters (the boss says I can only shoot if someone else attacks them). During the deal a guy crept up behind him and shot him, he died.
I re-did the mission up to that point again and waited for him to pop out again, when he eventually popped out again with his gun aiming at the mob boss's head I instantly shot him in the face. I then got a mission failed dialog because I apparently ruined the deal by shooting for "no good reason".
So, having a guy trying to kill the other guy i'm supposed to be body guarding isn't a good enough reason to kill him, apparently.

I remember this. I was so freaked out by by the colonel that I literally wanted to stop the game. Then the game told me the colonel was actually dead and it was a computer program and I was cool. Then I saw the colonel in MGS4 and it was WTF moment all over again.

Or stand at the shore of a cliff by the ocean and they drive straight into the ocean allowing you to pick them off as they swim to "Safety".

GTA San Andreas, I just finished a mission somewhere in Los Santos and decided to go save at that rapper's mansion in Vinewood (because my PC crashed all the time). I drive up the hill, want to walk up the little side-serpentine and hear that plane that always flies over the area.

I take 2 more steps and the damn thing crashes right into me, upside down, and explodes. WTF!?

Mass Effect - whilst battling the Matriarch, Shepard decides to become Mr. fantastic and start stretching out of shape and then freezes and becomes nigh invicible. It also turns out you can't move and that the Matriarch and her commandos have shit accuracy. It was a serious WTF moment for me as I thought I would have to reset my xbox 360 and I had forgotten when I had last saved.

Also in Fallout 3 I met a guy I personally call Mr. flying-brain-with-eyes-and-bright-white-teeth-who-is-lootable-but-has-no-loot.

Oh and a terminator from terminator salvation having the ability to punch kill me from 300 ft away.

And how there is no stealth gameplay in farcry 2 .

Edit: I just saw someone mention SW:TFU and I had to say another WTF moment was when the game failed on me and decided to stop tracking force points.

Hahah me too! I got knocked over on a stairwell as my shepard liquified himself down the stairs. My brother and I laughed for a good 10min watchin it happen

Whoa, never thought I'd see the day...My Shepard almost managed to reach the other side of the room!

I didn't think this happened to other people also! He got hit by the Matriarch's psy blast and started stretching then didn't he? or did something different happen to your shepard to start it off?

Whenever I got hit by her blast and slid down the stairs. But that attack always was buggy as hell.

L4D2 Chargers.

Death charges from roof tops, into water, or down elevator shafts. It happened to me yesterday actually. I was playing as a charger, and had the perfect set up. No lag was to be found that day and it was glorious. I charge Francis, I hit him, but he doesn't go over with me. The charger, literally, pushes Francis directly to the right, instead of forward to his death. He rolled right off me even though I was directly in front of him, as if I were slippery. Must be all the infected goo.*raspberry* That was one of my more recent w.t.f moments.

I once kicked ass as a Charger on Hard Rain. A guy ran out of the safe spot at the start and I was able to spawn due to this. I charged Nick and took him right into the water, instakilling him.

I remember getting 1 instakill and having two hang off the edge.
However it was like this:

OP: Assassin's Creed, the leap of faith...I mean sure from a height of ten feet maybe you don't break your neck, but most of those buildings were a good fifty seventy feet up, you'd totally die jumping into a cart of hay...I still loved that freaking game though.

This is PROBABLY no excuse... but Altair's line may have powers because they're descended from a human-[godlikepeople] hybrid. I don't remember where I heard this or if its bunk, but wikipedia CANT be wrong!! So thats where eagle vision(and extraordinary strength?) comes from. Maybe...

Well it better be because of that, if he is just this regular guy with weird eyes then really WTF. Wikipedia CAN NOT FAIL! haha, well I guess it would make sense, since the whole you know ending scene of AC2, but during AC how were we supposed to know? haha

Apparently it's mentioned in the black edition manual, or so says the AC Wiki.

Well that explains even more, I didn't have enough cash to buy the black edition. I'll look into that later. Thanks

Nice. I love death-charges. My friend and I set one up in the new map, 'The Sacrifice'. It nearly always works. And it's easy to explain before they run out of the safe-area if my friend and I, don't get the required infected at random. Need a smoker, and of course your charger. It's in the very beginning,and we've had quite a few nerd-rages afterwords.It's after the exploding barrels.

There is a car round the corner that's slammed through the railing and is precariously hanging off the side. There is an open area there, and you get the smoker to stand by the car. The rest of the infected separate the survivors as much as possible, and one of them runs ahead (they nearly always do), smoke him, and drag him over to the edge of the open area (that's the tricky part, because if he sees the smoker too early. He/she will kill you, and you've messed up.) The charger jumps off the roof, takes quick aim at he struggling survivor, and slams the survivor over and into the water. ^_^ Ta-da!

I'm sure everyone and their mother knew that one already, though. lol Just one of my favorite instant-kill spots. Because unless you are against a pro-run group, it works nearly every-time. The only other thing that can mess it up, it's not getting a charger or smoker in the beginning.

All Resident Evil games. You can blow up several zombies in one shot with a grenade launcher. But you can't break down a wooden door.

I know I may have been ninja'd already, but Condemned is ridiculous with this.

In Fallout 3 I was doing an Unarmed-only run, and was fighting a couple of Enclave soldiers in the big tank thing in the Broken Steel DLC. So I went to town on both of them with my Power Fist, side-stepping left and right while mashing the trigger, and when they were on low health I went into VATS. Having targeted a soldier who happened to be standing in front of his crouching comrade I threw a punch that went through the first guy's head and exploded the arms of the second.

By then I assumed my character was a god.
