Hello Escapists! I am new here, I've been RPing on other forums, but my friend said this place is pretty good, so let's give it a try.

Race: Mutant (Homo Superior), Mutate, Canis Sapien, Alien (No Skrulls), Immortal (Homo Supreme). PLEASE UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MUTANT AND MUTATE! A mutant is someone like Magneto, born with their powers, while a mutate is someone like Deadpool, who was given his powers through an external source (cybernetics, magic, etc.)

Age: THIS IS IMPORTANT. In this game, older people will have more control over their powers, but won't be as agile as younger people.

Height/Weight: Approximate, just so we know if we can do a "speedball special". (if you don't know it, look it up)

Powers/Talents: This includes special training as well as your mutant powers. Yes, you can have studied at Prof. X's school.

Weakness: Everyone has a weakness! Come on, share.

Weapons:

Equipment: Anything that you use outside of weaponry.

General Bio:

If I need to create a character for story, I will post a character sheet on that post. Here is the character I will be controlling throughout most of the story.

Name: Hector Fynn.

Nationality: Australian.

Alias: Riptide

Race: Mutant

Age: 21

Height/Weight: 6"2, 70 kilos (about 155 pounds)

Powers/Talents:
Water Manipulation, including water from the air.
Flight, by manipulating moisture in the air to hold him upwards.
Extremely fast swimming, by manipulating water.
Basic unarmed combat training.
Skilled Marksman.
Never needs to drink.
(Untrained, still cannot do all the time), freeze water, using claws, encasing himself in ice, etc.

Weakness: Separated from any liquid at all for about half an hour, he will die. Heat also makes him incredibly ill, and can cause him to go comatose.

Weapons: Carries a knife, but rarely uses it. Has been known to carry a 9mm pistol on occasion.

Equipment: 5 canteens strapped to his belt, which he uses for combat.

Appearance: Long fair hair, blue eyes, webbed fingers and toes (mutation), fairly well muscled, small frame.

Clothing: Stereotypical surfer guy clothes, boardshorts, tanktop, etc.

Costume: Light blue tank top style spandex with white X spreading across the entire shirt, including the back. Dark blue bandanna, mirror sunglasses. Specially cooled to prolong time he can stay in the sun.

Bio: Hector grew up in Sydney, and was always fond of water sports, competing in state swimming competitions from the age of 6. His mutant powers began to manifest themselves at the age of 13, when he accidentally flooded his whole school when he was trying to get water out of an out-of-order drinking fountain. After witnessing the X-Men battle the brotherhood on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, he followed them back to England and enrolled in Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Even now at the age of 21 he continues to study, searching for new ways to use his water powers. He is currently the leader of the X-Men team, Final X.

Weakness: Water, wind, the death of his waffles.

Weapons: Boys Anti-Tank Rifle Mark 1, FALCON 12.7 mm SNIPER RIFLE.

Equipment: iphone 4S, Climbing gear, zipline, parachute.

Appearance: Brown hair with green streaks that spikes downwards (google Kojuro Katakura), Pure white eyes. Snow camo cargo-pants, white shirt with green hexagons under the arms and a pair of white fingerless gloves.

Clothing: A pair of white combat boots, Dark green sweatpants, A baggy white camo shirt and a white skullcap.

Costume: Snow camo cargo-pants, white shirt with green hexagons under the arms, a pair of white fingerless gloves, Dark green combat boots and a white/green deadpool mask.

General Bio: Growing up in Enschede, a town near the border of Holland and Germany, Rhuben was always talented at learning languages, learning German and Dutch from birth, he mastered English at 9 and Latin at 15. He also is a very talented marksman, caused by his father taking him hunting from age 11. His mutant powers started to manifest at age 14, when he redirected a lightning strike from his school. When he was 17, he got hit by lightning during a freak storm that spanned half of europe, two days later he woke up in Nottingham. After a few months of living there, he heard about Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and enrolled. At the age of 21 he continues to learn languages and is buzy learning Japanese and Greek. He planned on joining Final X in a few days.

he is able to make himself accelerate and smash into a specific location(or object or living thing), he will keep going until he smashes into something, it goes for it's target in a straight line (which will change if the target moves), he will accelerate up to a max speed of mach 10 (3402.9 m/s) in 100 seconds (acceleration of 34.029 m/s squared). He receives no damage from the impact (though his clothing and other items on him do and he is injured normally other wise), after the impact he will 'bounce' of the the target location

Weakness:
no combat training (though some experience (explained in the bio))
also his powers may accidently go of e.g. he is very hungry and suddenly he slams straight towards the nearest fridge.

Clothing and costume: black rubber suit with bullet proof vest underneath it, metal knee guards and metal elbow guards as well, gloves with metal plating over the knuckles, a white mask which covers the top half of his face.

General Bio: as thomas was growing up he always wanted to be a supre hero and help those who needed his help. at age 14 thomas's powers start manifesting he was over joyed but his parents weren't as happy they said that he should be try and be 'normal' and not chase a stupid and dangers idea of being a super hero, at age 16 he ran away from home hoping that he could achieve his dream of being a superhero, he has spent the last 2 years living on the streets stealing just enough to get by in life while stopping any crime he has come across. Thomas during that time has gained some experience in fighting with a knive or bare hand but he mainly used his power to stop criminals, also not wanting to be identified by any one he only ever takes off his costume to clean himself or to treat wounds, he also learned how to treat wounds by not being willing to go to hospital as he doesn't want to give personal information leading to him having to learn how to treat his own wounds.

I'm interested and will be producing a sheet but there is so much more you need to explain.
For example I?m not that used to the universe so explaining the background of the world would be helpful.
Also while you don?t have to give away the story saying the basic set up and plot would really help attract people.
How much is this rp a part of the established cannon? For example are we just using the same basic set up or are we also using the characters?
Will people like me who don?t know anything about the X-Men be at much of a disadvantage? If so could you maybe say who someone of the important people are so we aren?t lost?
Anyway expect sheet soon.

In regards to the following questions:

1. This RP is staying as far away from the cannon as possible, obviously those characters exist but I'll be trying to limit interaction with them.
2. In the Marvel Universe, the X-Men mutants are split into different teams, such as X-Force, X-Men, New Mutants, X-Factor, etc. My character is the leader of the team, Final-X.
3. No, you shouldn't be at a disadvantage for not knowing much of the X-Men universe. A quick glance over a wikipedia page will bring you up to speed if you get lost, you may want to look up Mutant Utopia, as that is where we will be based.
4. I will say who important people are if we interact with them, I said that in the OP.

I made my character more of a mercenary then a fellow mutant, but what the hell, it's fiction.

Multi-LingualHe knows Hebrew, Arabic, English and Russian.

Weakness: Vulnerable while surfing the internet or attempting to access machinery and gateways, he's not very conscious to his surroundings and has to be hidden or protect in the process.

Weapons: TAR-21 with a dozen magazines. A sidearm, a 9mm glock with two clips.
Three combat knives hidden in his jacket and pants.

Equipment: His gloves that allow him to manipulate code and trigger electrical circuits on the fly.
His special spectacles that operate as a monitor so that he could see what he's doing in virtual space (When he's attempting to access systems, etc.)

Appearance: Barry is pale and chubby (though he also has some muscle mass, but the long nights communicating with his peers around the world don't leave him much room for exercise). He has broad shoulders and hairy hands and legs, his brown hair stretches down to his shoulders in a ponytail and his facial hair grows without any disturbance. He generally looks sloppy and dirty, but when he cleans up for a mission he can be looked at without suffering from any discomfort.

Clothing and costume:

Clothing ? A green shirt with long sleeves with his old unit tag sewn into its right shoulder. Long green cargo pants, a black leather belt, large black boots, leather gloves that cover his fingers, a plastic hat that can have cans of soda/beer attached to it (and drink from it). Sunglasses for venturing outside.

Costume ? White undershirt, a Green Jacket with various pockets (for ammunition cartridges, beer, etc.) that has the inscription on the front in Hebrew saying "Run faster" and an inscription on the back of it in Arabic, saying "If you?re reading this, you're dead". His special spectacles (Which looks like some sort of a 'virtual reality' player of sorts, cover his eyes and is attached with some electrical wiring to the machine strapped around his belt. He wears that same trousers and boots. His side arm is strapped to his right shin underneath his trousers and his TAR-21 is slung over his right shoulder.

General Bio: Barry was born to his parents, both Russian immigrants. When he was 17, he let the army know that he did not want to enlist and fight for his country in the field. He hacked into its database and attached a new parameter to his name, "Professional Hacker" and checked the box that excused him from service. The military saw the discrepancy in their information and the forced entry into their database, and arrested Barry a few months afterwards.

Instead of arresting him, Barry was offered a deal ? work for the Army in the new Cyber-warfare corps it had established a few years ago or go to trial on treason. Barry agreed and over the years he enlisted several hackers that in their teenage years were caught because of him and given the same offer. He propelled the corps into new heights and managed to develop some amazing offensive worms and viruses that would corrupt enemy systems. As a hobby he tried to develop a way in which he could access systems remotely, away from a computer. When the military got wind of his project they decided to reward their most esteemed soldier in the cyber-warfare corps and give him the funding he needed.

Barry developed a proto-type that will allow him to access machines using a special monitor he installed on a pair of glasses and two gloves. He was overjoyed with achievement but when he found out that the technology was too valuable to ever be recognized outside of the military he was outraged. It could only be used in special ops where mobility and technological superiority are of the utmost importance. Barry tried to avoid the field, the bullets and blood from the beginning and when his superiors announced he will be testing his technology shortly, he decided that he would leave.

His government considers him a deserter and a risk to the public safety. He offered his abilities to the highest bidder and accepted the offer Professor Xavier gave him, to work for his team.

Height/Weight: 162 centimetres and 73 kilograms

Powers/Talents: He is able to phase his atoms to pass through solid matter and use this ability to become impervious to physical attacks such as gunshots for a short period of time. Allistor can also phase his atoms so light is not reflected or absorbed to become invisible. These powers however are weak and can not usually be maintained longer than 1 minute as Allistor can't breathe whilst he is using them. Any additional objects on his person such as clothing or weapons are not phased with him therefore rendering him defenceless after using his powers. He occasionally loses patches of hair or skin when unphasing leaving scarring. Allistor has gone through many breathing exercises to increase time he can phase.

Weaknesses: Limitations of powers, lack of offensive capabilities, fatigue after use of powers.

Weapons: Prefers short bladed weapons but due to powers he is forced to fight with anything he can find.

Appearance: Long brown hair with minor patches missing, Hazel eyes, no facial hair, small scarring all over body

Clothing and Costume: When he can choose Allistor wears a cheap basic T-shirt and cheap ripped jeans due to the likely-hood of losing them. His dream costume is full body light-weight suit with a purple vertical line going down it with a black and purple face mask covering the right half of his face.

Bio: Allistor grew up in urban Brisbane having a relatively normal and happy childhood. Witnessing various crimes throughout his life has taught him to not draw attention to himself and how to escape dangerous situations. Allistor's powers have come in handy on a few occasions most being attempted muggings. He has cut himself off from the mutant world not associating with known mutants or revealing himself or his powers to anybody. However he hates injustice and takes it upon himself to protect his friends and neighbours from dangerous people, he has killed 5 criminals who have assaulted or threatened people he knows and scares minor criminals from his neighbourhood using his powers. Allistor works part time as a teacher's aide and maintains a social life to create the image of a normal life and to hide suspicion of mutation. Allistor spends a large portion of his spare time trying to further control and even advance his powers.

Powers/Talents: Gravity Manipulation - mentally manipulates gravity enabling him to decrease or increase mass of anything within a set range (have yet to define a set range any input on a good range would be welcomed). With focus he can create a gravity field to stop bullets or pin foes by increasing their mass. He has on rare occasions created small blasts of concussive force and perform short range flight (more or less slowly jump/ascending).

Weaknesses: Lack of control, due to his age he has problems controlling his power under stress. The lack of control also means he can only affect so many targets without focusing making most of his attacks single target. He isn't immune to things like falling or being hit by something he is manipulating. His powers are physically and mentally straining on him and due to the strain has a very high metabolism.

While being bullied by several older students at his school Simon suffered a panic attack triggering his powers. All four boys who were bullying Simon ended up in the ICU and the word of Simon's condition quickly spread. His parents were distraught upon learning their son's condition and were relieved when they were approached by a representative for Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Afterward his parents moved without his knowledge and Simon became a permanent member of the school.

You can just call youself "Newton", for constantly breaking his laws.

I will elaborate on the aliens issue, my bad guys.
You can be Kree, Shi-Ar, or Half-Skrull. The Shi-Ar are like humans but slightly more birdlike, some have wings, all can lift around a tonne, and they have much more stamina than a normal human. The Kree have hollow bones, and as such are quite fragile to blunt force.

The Kree are blue humans, they are a lot stronger all around that humans, however they breathe Nitrogen, and as such cannot survive in Earth atmosphere without a breathing formula or some kind of gas mask. There are also Pink Kree that are a lot stronger however are not as powerful (politically) as their blue brethren on their home planet. The Kree are very militaristic.

This is a the "Super Skrull" a genetically modified Skrull with the powers of the Fantastic Four, this is just a rough idea of what a Skrull looks like. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9e/Annihilation004_SKRULL_scaled_800.png

However, due to their upbringing I have decided that full Skrulls would be impossible to roleplay, so half skrulls will have to do.

A half-Skrull is very strong, and durable, they look like a human, but green, and may have Skrull ears and lines. Skrull themselves have no powers out of the ordinary, but if you want to throw in some backstory about being the son of a Super Skrull, that works.

All the above races have advanced technology, included lasers, cloaking, cybernetics, cyborg technology, etc, and the Kree have psionic (basically psychic powers) technology.

IronRuler, about your sheet. First and foremost, I love the character, but could you maybe add something to it? I mean to me he's just a highly trained combat hacker/engineer. It's accepted regardless, but it feels a little incomplete.

Powers: Enhanced reflexes, Above average strenght and speed, increased percepion, great aim with all ranged weapons, Military CQC fighting skills, has an unknown number of cyber weapons on his person, the only one he has gotten the hang so far of is his hidden wrist mounted Flametrowers.

Weaknesses: As a cyborg, he sufferes from the same issues robots have, EMP, reprograming Magnets, ETC. Also has little idea how to access his cyber weapons, which may lead to friendly fire.
Has standard human weakness otherwise.

Weapons: A custom scoped S&WM500 Revelover, a combat knife, hidden Flamethrowers and other unknown cyber weapons.

Equipment: Standard Covert-Ops gear, Smoke bombs, lockpick and so-on.

Appearance: A soldier's build, Crimson hair (dyed), Has deep sugical scars all around his body, Decked out in dark jeans, A torn black jacket and white no-sleeve, dirty runners.

Costume: Petty much his normal apearance but with combat boots, a cleaner jacket with Red X's on the shoulders, ammo belt's and a Red-skull Facemask.

Bio: Born in New York, He joined the US Army to see the world and other idealistic nonsense. He was picked out for his keen aim by WEAPON-X (as you do) and was assigned as part of a rival project to the one that gave us Wolverine and Deadpool. They hoped to re-create the same results, but with robotics instead of genetics for better control and mass production. However, they got the EXACT same results, including the break-out and escape parts.
Despite being half machine, he still as a normal human mind and personality.
After discovering his cyber weapons,He freelanced for a while until he found the X-men. He signed up for the whole safety in numbers thing and to find out how to use his weapons safety.

Personality: Snide and sarcastic most of the time, but is still a good person, just pissed at the whole expermention thing, still getting used to his new "Friends". Does not trust Admin, due to fears of getting reprogramed and taken over.

At first I thought of the same thing, but it seems too much to pack into once character.
A soldier, A hacker AND a mutant? It's like the Batman Syndrome some people suffer from - A millionare, A martial arts specialist, A detective, a crime fighter, A businesman...
You see where I'm going with this?
I do want to note that he can walk with one eye focused on operating machinery, like setting off cars and making them drive on their own towards his enemy, exploding electrical boxes, using radio antennas to explode the heads of everyone in the vicinity, etc. and the other eye on the target, in the real world. He could have his glove on his left hand and his glock on his right, fighting with bullets and technology.

He transform into a humanoid winged reptile. In this form he has
Flight
Claws on his toes and fingertip that are sharp enough to cut flesh and hard material like rock (within limits)
An ability to withstand higher temperature compare to human.
Tough scaly skin that can absorb small impact like small firearm bullets and weak impalement from bladed weapons.
An ability to flex his scales outward becoming rough like sandpaper skin. It can tear flesh off just by rubbing onto it.
A barb tail that can knock people down (depend how strong this person is) while the barb tip is sharp enough to impale people and hard materials.
Minor regeneration (it?s nowhere near Wolverine level but enough for heal or close open membrane wound on his wing).

Weakness:
He cannot withstand freezing cold temperature (snow and ice) which expose to it without warmth he will freeze to death a lot sooner. This also include being in open water like the sea, river and lake but he would lose mobility and react slower (it may vary depend on the location). Rain (including heavy rain) and warm or hot water has no effect on him.
Since his arm is also his wing, he can only maintain flight for less than 30 minutes (depend much he glide or flapping his arms).

Weapons: None other than his claws and tail.

Appearance:
Human form
He has brown eyes with short brown hair. His body build is slim.

Reptile form
In this form he has light blue scaly skin with an ivory colour underbelly. His nails and toe nails morph into black claws and he also grows out a barb tail. The length of the tail is about 90cm. His upper and lower arm grew out extra bones and membranes which form the bat like wing (he still got his hands). He can fold it back onto the arm when not using it to fly. The wingspan is 1/3 compare to the X-Men Angel (which explain why he can't maintain flight for long). His face is mostly the same albeit with light blue skin. He now sport green reptile eyes, small horns at the jaw line and two horn at the back of his head.

Clothing and costume:
Clothing
Most of the time he is wears a T-shirt with a sleeveless hoodie on top of it and a modify jean to have an extra zipper at the back of it. He also wear either trainers or sandal depending if he feel if he may have to transform (e.g. if he is heading into a dangerous area he wear sandal).

Costume
He follows the traditional X-men attire by having his costume colour scheme blue and yellow. He wears a blue elastic sport vest with a large yellow X on the front and back.
He wear blue short with yellow stripe at the side and a yellow belt with an X shape belt buckle. At the back of the short is a zipper to bring out his tail without ripping his short. He also wear knee guards with X imprinted on it.

General Bio: He had a normal childhood which he had admire the superheroes (Captain Britain, The Avengers and the X-Men etc). When he was 13 he had notice a scale on his chest which he was too terrify to tell his parent. He had looked up a lot of medicals information he could find until he looks it up on genetic. Realising he is a mutant he hide this from his friend and family thinking he was safe for a while (the scale was on his chest which no one can see it). As the years go by more and more scales appear which he had use make-up to cover it but was inevitable when he reach 16.
One day at high school his transformations begin in middle of class freaking everyone out. He left school back to his home to tell his parent who was also shock. They try to cope that their child is a mutant but they were angry at him for keeping it a secret. They were under pressure from the local community which they had deemed him a freak. They finally had enough of their son as they alerted the authority. Fearing for his own life he ran away into the mountain.
He spends a year living in the wilderness and sometimes visits town and villages to keep up with the rest of the world (news). He had begun to control his powers as he learns to revert back to his human form.
One day when Cerebro (or is it Cerebra?) located him, the X-men locate and offer him to join them by enrolling to Xavier school for gifted youngster. He recognises who they are and their reputation (in fact he was planning to go to the school when he had gather enough money).
He had spent a year at the school as he is able to transform between his human and reptile form. He goes by the alias Wyvern because his reptile form resembles one (dragon wing are separate from the arm unlike Wyvern) from the coat of arms he had seen back in Britain.

Sorry for the wait, got busy with halloween and didn't have time to type it up. Finally finished though.

Name: Erica Coppens

Nationality: Belgian, though she's lived in Arizona most of her life.

Alias: The Yellow Caracara

Race: Mutant (Homo Superior)

Age: 25

Height/Weight: 5'8/140 pounds

Powers/Talents: She has the power to physically enhance her body using emotions, or rather, the hormones produce during said emotions, using them as a fuel to add power to whatever area she wants. She tends to get more powerful the more intense the emotions are, but she rarely uses this power in large doses due to what she calls Downer syndrome (explained below in weakness). She'll usually only use this power to traverse terrain and add a bit more power to her punches and kicks (she has to unless she wants to hold it all back and having it blow out on her again).
She's also a Mixed Marshal Arts user, utilizing a combination of luchador-esque grapple attacks and karate strikes.
She's also fluent in Belgian, English, and knows passable Spanish.

Weakness: Tends to hold back in a fight situation, even when it would be justified or required to survive, mostly due to Downer syndrome (as she's nicknamed it), and hormonal withdrawals.
-Blind frenzy: While using a large dose of her power, her mental state changes and makes her unable to hold back, causing her to become increasingly violent until she's mentally worn.
-Downer syndrome: Due to using emotions as fuel for her power, after using all of it she becomes unusually depressed and weakened.
-Hormonal withdrawals: The effects of using her powers doesn't stop there, as when she goes into Downer syndrome, her body loses it's fuel source immediately and, looking for more nourishment, will start to eat itself for more fuel, causing terrible pain. This effect will not stop itself until she uses this power again or she waits long enough, usually between two days to a week (it's not unheard of for it to go on longer though, once lasting up to 3 weeks). Her body will usually heal and replace all damage caused by the withdrawal a day or two later (it actually heals itself while it's eating itself but the damage done is more that the healing factor can make up for at that time.).

Weapons: none but her hands and the beak-like short-claws on her gloves.

Equipment: None.

Appearance: pale skin with short blond hair and eyes in between brown and black.

Clothing and costume: Normal clothing for her is usually a blue shirt, some khaki's or cargo pants (depending on the weather); tennis shoes, full rim glasses, and sometimes a grey jacket (again, weather).

Her costume is a bit flashier and rightfully so; it draws inspiration from both the costumes featured in Carnival and Luchador costumes. It starts with of a feathered head piece, many of which lean backwards and mimic her hair (only showing the lowest pieces and the front tufts of hair) and three individual feathers which are placed higher than the others and stick up, only slightly drooping backwards. Her elbow-length gloves are also feather covered (and pointing towards her elbows) but only on the fore arms while the actual hand part isn't physically distinctive apart from the small beak-like claws at the end. Her knee high leggings don't differ that much either, having feathers on the small bit that reaches the thighs (pointed downward) and on the sides of the actual boot part and that's it. The actual body of the costume is a leotard with 1 1/2 foot feathers coming off the tailbone. lastly, she has a simple mask, covering her eyes with the ends flaired out into little spikes to simulate feathers (they have corrective lenses covering the eye sockets to account for her eyesight0.

General Bio: Erica grew up in Arizona since the age of 1 after her family moved away from Belgium to get away from the family drama (don't know why they picked Arizona). In that time she picked up allot of influence from the culture and became interested in knowing more about the other nations across the border. She did passably in classes until she turned 10, when suddenly she had a sharp drop in grades, owing to poor eyesight and causing her to need glasses. Besides that, nothing of interest happened till she was 17. Her powers had emerged when she was 14 but only at the age of 17 did they emerge enough to become noticeable. She kept it under wraps and continued about her life, graduating high school and applying for college.

For a while everything was fine...then she experienced her powers negative effects for the first time. It turns out that subconsciously, the knowledge of her powers caused a reaction within her body, and later her mind, that wore on her to use said power and eventually, she did. In her second year, a teacher of her's angered her enough to use her powers, making her lose control and murder him within his own home, brutally butchering his family also. After she got home, the pain set in, increasing each day until she used her powers again, this time on two thugs who tried to harm her on the way to the hospital. She instigated two more attacks over two weeks before she could finally break this cycle. She was just lucky enough that in her attacks, she had destroyed most of the evidence that could be linked back to her so the police wouldn?t come after her.

This fact was unknown to her and she spent the rest of her time in college in fear of the police and everyone else involved in the crimes, consumed with guilt about what she had done. Afterwards she moved away from Arizona and tried to come to terms with her power. She learned a lot about it by herself and the few people she revealed it to, not wanting to head to Xavier?s school and risking public knowledge of her powers. She eventually got to the point where she could live with it?but the physical requirements and the knowledge of what she did (mostly the former though since it would stop more incidents like the latter) caused her to try her hand at stopping crime and being a hero.

She was good enough at it that she kept it up as an unofficial job and hasn't looked back since.

Hopefully it's good enough but if not, i'll change a few things.

Thanks for the advice, went with G, not one hundred percent but I think Newton was already a hero's name though I could be thinking of their actual name not hero name.
