This puzzles me... I would assume it would be first PC, then Ps3, with Xbox 360 a distant 3rd.... hhhmmm. Today is officially opposite day for me!

So taking that into consideration, does DICE enjoy taunting console gamers?

OT: Sounds reasonable. Seems like PS3 would be just as easy to use though :l
In any case, I would speculate it's just easier to get a demo up and running on the 360. Now I don't know why it'd be easier to show or control on a 360 vs a PS3.
That's what I was getting at. Seems like it'd be equally easy to get a ps3 on the show floor. I just wished they'd have shown it on ps3 instead because... well... <<Badges<<.
I think you need to watch Yahtzee's console rundown review again because it explains why it indirectly explains why a PS3 would be the hardest to use (i.e. production times, millions of dollars, etc etc).

I do very much hope this isn't indicative of a poor performance on the Playstation 3. At this point, I was hoping they'd have figured out designing for it.

as long as there will be mods on PC i cant say i care.

Theres a fanmod for HD textures in Fallout3, improves graphics dramatically.

As long as the game is open to modding the technical fidelity is secondary, it can be fixed by the community.
I agree, the moddability of PC versions of games is amazing, but it shouldn't really come down to modders to really take advantage of PC hardware. The developers should be trying harder, in my opinion. The more this is accepted, the more they're likely to just do a sloppy port and go "the modders'll fix it."

The scary thing is that companies like EA are starting to restrict mods from their games, namely BF3. I hope this isn't the future of PC gaming :(.
Yes i just meant its not as big a deal like it would be for BF3 for example, also we didnt see any 360 to PC comparisons of graphics yet so im not going up in panic about it.

Ive say this though, i do not personally condone development for console and PC-porting it later. However this is how the industry works atm, consoles have their 15 minutes of fame, then they will turn into PCs anyways (contrary to what MovieBob believes).

That's developing the game, which they've already done. Not just plugging in a PS3 and putting in the disc, which is what I wanted. It's just as easy as the Xbox and more relevant to my interests.

I believe the "Shut up and take my money!" image macro would be appropriate here.

And as a PC gamer to the core,I agree with Bethesda's logic.

did bethesda just wrap their juicy red lips around the almighty MS-money-dick?
Isn't that what they have been doing?
Well, I'm definitely not getting this for the ps3 anyway. That's going to be a total disaster. I just hope that the PC version isn't.

They have to stop trying to hype this game. Every statement they've made since E3 has made me wary of this title.

Wouldnt they need to install it on the PS3? The Xbox can run the game without any extra care.

I dont know this for sure, thats why I am asking.

Except at E3 DICE was showing off the console version of battlield 3 and not the PC version so your comment doesnt really make any sense.
Were they? Could have sworn they were using a PC.

I don't know. Their track record would suggest yes, but maybe not. Even so, it's not like they just rush the systems and games out onto the floor. I'm pretty sure they could give it 10 minutes to install.

I hate having a ps3 and a 360, now I'm always scared the version of the game I'm getting will be the poorly optimized one
Well with Bethesda you don't have to worry to much about that. Only which version is going to get short shafted in terms of DLC.

I bet it still looks better on the console than it'll do on my PC.

I'll probably end up getting it for both though, like the sucker I am.

As long as Skyrim meets a few (hopefully not demanding requirements) I don't mind them showing off the console version.

1. The UI doesn't have to be modded to show more than a handful of items at a time on PC. First thing I do every time I install Oblivion is get a UI mod for it because I hate only being able to see a couple items at a time when I have the resolution and screen space to deal with more.

2. There are no major memory leaks that causes game stability issues. It wasn't so much a problem for the base game. But, The Shivering Isles had a rather nasty NPC ID problem that if left unchecked caused major issues very quickly.

3. Lack of DLC which focuses on outfitting animals with plate-mail or player housing. Basically, I want DLC to mean something in the game. Even though I have the GotY version, there are only a couple of the DLCs that I feel are really worth paying for. The rest, if I didn't have them in the version I have I wouldn't have missed them.

4. A decent ending to the main storyline. I won't go into what happens; but how about let me take an active role this time? Just as long as you don't pull the same thing you did in Fallout 3 and sell the real ending down the road.

5. Finally, don't make dragons turn into giant cliffracers! I want to be able to enjoy seeing a dragon and fighting it. Not dread seeing the shadow of one because I just killed five of them within the span of ten minutes.

I suppose that is a devious idea; if people haven't yet seen the demonstration of the PC's graphical quality, they will be pleasantly surprised when it comes out... why does it still have to be three and a half months away?

makes sense. Logistically its probably a lot easier to just use a 360 than trying to make sure they'll have a pc with proper specs set up for you, or bringing your own and trying to get it to play nice with whatever projection setup they're using.

EDIT: This just in: console gamers vastly outnumber PC gamers. More at 11.
