I might be acquiring an Xbox 360 soon, mainly because it will be too expensive to constantly upgrade my PC, and secondly because the wind seems to be blowing in the consoles direction. Therefore, I need some recommendations. They don't necessarily need to be Xbox 360 exclusive, they can also just play better on the Xbox 360. I'm interested in most genres, but RPG is my favorite genre. Please refrain from suggesting Mass Effect or Bioshock, already own them for the PC.

Am I missing something? Because PCs sure as shit don't need to be constantly upgraded. Christ, how do people still believe that?

Ok, well, Crackdown is some fun, and by now the price should be pretty low, so good value.
Borderlands is an ok RPG. bit restricted on character customisation. may want to leave it til the price goes down to get better value, but it can be a fun game. sometimes fun with friends.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vega 2 is a good FPS, with good customisation for you character and loadout. I've played it to death, but it is still fun with friends or some strangers. I stay away from versus mode though. Lag can make it annoying. and spawn killers are everywhere (You get 5 secs of spawn invincibility though)

Pick up mass effect, I would try to get left 4 dead because you could probably get it cheap with L4D2 coming out soon, also Modern Warfare 2 if you like that kind of game since you are moving from pc to xbox you won't miss the features anyway, and you don't know how awesome party chat is yet, halo 3:ODST if you have no sense of shame, fable 2 is good.
hope that helped.

Okay, re-read your post. Get Lost Odyssey. Like, right now. 360-exclusive, hell of a long game, and the most moving storyline I've ever seen anywhere.

Borderlands is a good RPG-FPS game.
Mass Effect 2 is coming out soon, so you could check out that.
I'd also go for Dragon Age: Origins.

These three would be the three I'd recommend; Dragon Age is meant to be an excellent timesink, so I'd give that a look if RPGs are your thing.

Agreed.

Eternal Sonata is actually pretty good, albeit mildly childish, but fun nonetheless. Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant are decent enough and are both pretty cheap nowadays. Dead or Alive 4 is a good fighting game once you get the hang of it. Red Faction: Guerrila, though that one will still be kinda pricey. And Lost Planet: Colonies is awesome with a sequel due out in the near future.

If you don't mind getting a points card you can always get Castle Crashers. There's PSU and FFXI (if you don't mind pay for play) they're more of MMO's. Blue Dragon. Still give Left 4 Dead a try and maybe some Call of Duty.

Give Crackdown a whirl. It's probably fairly cheap right now, and it's pretty damn fun. You play a super-powered cop, it's GTA-ish, right down to stealing cars and killing civilians (though they prefer that you didn't), and it's got "RPG elements," so your character's abilities grow as you play.

Then let me explain it to you. I bought my PC last year. It wasn't top notch at the time, but it could definitely handle most games released at the time, perfectly. Now, if you read my post, I'm not saying I'm abandoning PC gaming at all, only to play games that aren't released on PC, or the ones I can't run. The reason for my reluctance is that I'm the "lucky" owner of a desktop replacement notebook, with a relatively hefty GPU (and I bought it a low price too), but the CPU is the main hindrance. It absolutely sucks. And if I'm going to buy a new CPU, I'm paying almost as much as for an Xbox 360.

Wait what? Let me get this straight, you have a PC capable of running games which is the best platform for RPGs...........and you bought a 360 looking for RPGs? Well, Lost Oddysey is the only one I can think of that isn't on PC. There's also Fable 2 but it's really nothing like Pete said and is more of an Action Adventure game.

Why not get Dragon Age, or Mount and Blade, or the Witcher, or Baldurs Gate 2, or Diablo 2 and soon Diablo 3? I'm fairly sure you could run all of them and more if you spent that 360 money on your PC.

I iz cafuzeld.
