Oh god, so much stupid in the youtube comments. This is glorious.
By anyway, looks cool I guess. I dunno, I kind of burned out on Minecraft in the first few months of release so not really too bothered about this.

I've never played Minecraft and I don't intend to.

But then again, I'm a Contrarian...if something is "too popular" I just have an immediate disgust for it.

For instance, I've never had a social media site (Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, etc) and have no intention to. My cell phone is 7 years old. And the phrase Angry Birds makes me want to go pheasant hunting. :p

Something seems kinda weird there, why is there no hunger bar or EXP bar? Those need to be there! I don't.. I don't think I can survive without it. Ok maybe I can... But what else isn't there?

You should try it. If Minecraft is "too popular" now it's only because it blew so many people away when it started becoming known in 2010. It's no lazy social gaming fad, but one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had in gaming, and like literally nothing else I've ever played.

Personally I don't think the multiplayer mode necessarily shows that off to its best effect, but the survival singleplayer experience is, if it clicks with you, utterly sublime.

If I wanted to play a Java game with 256Mb of RAM, then I'd go stab myself in the eye with a rusty fork.

Plus this misses out on mods, which is probably the best part of minecraft. Wouldn't mind giving it a go if Notch lets us use already existing accounts though.

It's based on Beta 1.6.6 and then will be updated to the current version once the porting is done and released.

Why do my threads not get as much love as the ones that are less informational and are made after mine?

By the Notch

C'mon, it's even got a discussion purpose. =(

Boo. They'll probably have to dumb down the graphics so it'll run on consoles!
My monitor now has coffee on it...

That made me chuckle.

I don't like Minecraft, I need to be told what to do because I'm a mindless drone. I won't be getting it on Xbox, I do have it for PC despite my not liking it.

Well damn, that actually doesn't look despicable.

I wonder if they'll have their own little free marketplace for texture packs? That would be quite cool.

Still, splitscreen and all aside, I'd still rather play it with a mouse and keyboard, with heaps of mods, awesome HD texture packs and a thirty player Tekkit server.

But hey, that's just me. :D

I'll probably get it to play with my GF. Hopefully you can play the thing offline so I'll probably wait until the thing is actually out and there's more info about it available. Split-Screen blew my mind.

Now to wait for the flood of PC gamers who will:

A) Make offhand remarks about the PC version being better (Most likely due to mods, HD packs, etc.)
B) Comment about how it's sure to be dumbed down for consoles.
C) Say that Notch is selling out by putting Minecraft on Xbawks.
D) Be cool with it.

Personally, WHY?! I TRIED MY DARNEDEST TO AVOID YOU WHEN YOU WERE JUST ON PC! YOU'RE MAKING IT HARDER FOR ME NOT TO BUY YOU!

All joking aside, I'm most likely going to buy this.

Meh, I kind of feel the same way as Sixcess sometimes.

T.V. Tropes: It's Popular, Now It Sucks.

It's kind of like when you have a lot of people doing something you don't get the same "tight nit" experience that you would with less people. Play a MUD sometime and you'll see what I mean.

Mostly though I couldn't get into Minecraft all that much because it values building over exploring and fighting. I'm more of an adventurer type, and while Minecraft has a huge world it doesn't encourage you to explore it (what with the hunger, insta-kill creepers, and lethal 2ft drops...). It's kind of sad in a way because you are tied to your spawn point, and even if you make a bed to rest in you still have to worry about the bed itself getting destroyed and resetting your spawn (unless they fixed that I have no idea... sorry).

Custom maps are nice, but they kind of lost their luster after a while also. Either they were way too simple to the point of boring, or about twice as hard as Dark Souls/Demon Souls.

Meh, if people want it, why shouldn't Notch make it more widely available? It's not like it was the only PC-only game out there that validated people's reasons for buying a PC.

Hmm. I'll look.

*searches for minecraft 360 trailers*

OH GOD! I DON'T WANNA SEE ANY MORE STUPID! Get me off of this stinkin' planet! AAAAAAAAAH!

I've been really looking forward to it, especially as I've been surviving on the indie rip offs.

I honestly can't believe I have paid for three of those. One of them was the first, another was actually somewhere close to minecraft (in that you had to, y'know, mine), and the third one had zombies and was bought under the influence of more alcohol than you should probably ever drink.

Well, good for Xbox gamers. I'll pass. I loved the first 5-6 hours of the game. But then it got very boring for me. Maybe because I kept expanding the same building. Oh well.

I might honestly get this for the 360. I have the PC version, but I really don't play it much because...well...I'm not much of a PC gamer.

But this looks pretty good, and split screen co-op with a buddy is something I can look forward to.

...My capcha is one hit wonder...nice.
