I agree some of them are really way too expensive but I don't object to the system. You're not being forced to buy them. It's your choice. I mean half of my friends on Live are kitted out with either Gears or UNSC armour and that's rather pathetic... But I can't really judge them since I really want that Clone Trooper armour. But I'm not paying 600 points for it. 300 for both the armour and the helmet is more than fair I think ¬_¬

They're planning on making achievments in games unlock avatar items - I believe the first one to do this will be Splosion Man, but since it came out before the update did, we'll have to wait for a patch before the rewards can be reaped.

As for my opinion on this matter, I think there are a lot of things on that avatar shop that I wish could be bought in real life. Which is ironic, considering you need to pay real money to get virtual items. There are a few things I'd like to buy but I can't seriously see myself doing so - some of them are simply far too expensive for what is, at the end of the day, pretty worthless.

No argument here.

Like you said, just unlockables would be cool. Like if you beat Assassin's Creed 2 or Mass Effect 2, you get to wear their armor or have one of their weapons. But paying for them... I don't see myself doing it.

And why the hell can my avatar not kill other avatars if I'm in a party? Or kill the ones for the profiles that are offline?

For one, I don't really like the Xbox 360 avatars. I don't put much attention to it, but I thought that the addition of those toys would be nice, until I found out their cost. We can buy game add-ons for that much. Hell, we can buy old Xbox games for that much. No way am I buying these things.

As long as they make it so they expand the number of awards and make it so there is a good number offered I will be happy. Otherwise I couldn't care. Maybe I'd buy a jacket or something with some extra points but that's it. And Props are a waste.

I saw the prices and thought "hmm rather spend it on something worth it".

I wonder if 1 vs 100 will start giving out clothes as prizes soon instead of a dlc game or whatever.

I think some of the items are interesting enough, but so far I've only seen what the guys can wear (haven't had a chance to check my XBL.).

But if you have a dude avi, just preview the pom-poms. I swear, that had to be one of the gayest things I've ever seen.

I got Sam Fisher's outfit from Convictions and the UNSC hat, so I'm set for a very long time.

For something like an Avatar graphic these things are WAY overpriced, especially with the limited use of your avatar. 400 gamer points for the lightsaber is too much. Not when you can buy 2 - 5 songs for Rock Band for the same cost. For the cost of 2 of the upper end items I could buy an expansion pack for a game, this is way off balance and I hope Microsoft can correct it.
