Xbox-Exclusive Mortal Kombat Character Nixed for Mysterious Reasons

Lately the Xbox has been missing out when it comes to extra content, not sure if it's Microsoft's fault of the fact that Xbox discs have a smaller capacity than blu rays, but it's happening more often. Dead Space 2 for PS3, for example, had an HD version of Dead Space Extraction.

Also: I honestly can't think of an Xbox exclusive character that would fit with a fighting game like Mortal Kombat.

What's the difference between Marcus Phoenix Fenix and Master Chief anyway? They're both just power-armoured, crappy one-liner spewing, macho tough guys.
Untrue. Master Chief doesn't talk, so he isn't able to spew crappy one-liners.

I don't think there are any MS-owned characters really appropriate for an MK game. Kratos is rare in that he fits in well, and it seems to be serendipitous on Sony's part that they own him, and are thus able to get the exclusivity with him as a character.

He does talk, but only rarely. problem is whenever he does it's always something horribly annoying. Not to mention Cortana and her endless barrage of one-liners.

Ryu Hayabusa could fit in the MK universe but he was ported to the PS3 so he isn't really exclusive anymore.

He doesn't talk much in games because you're supposed to project yourself onto his character. In the books, he is much better.

Dodges the bullet in my opinion. I was just playing the game, and Master Chief, and worse yet, Marcus, would have ruined it for me. I would not even like Kratos, but he is far better than those two.

Though I guess I could take out my rage on them by using them as fatality dummies.

Edit: Id rather they just add Rain or Bo Rai Cho instead of some lame crossover.

I'd much prefer Conker - Put Rare to good use for once, Microsoft!
Oh my god. It would have been so awesome.
I would buy the game in a heartbeat if it had Conker.

He would be perfect, too: There would be no qualms about him getting brutally maimed, he could pull off the gravity defying stunts only capable of fighting game characters or the likes of Conker (tail spin for the win!), and I'm sure his "Finish Him" fatality would be AMAZING!

Conker's eyes blaze red as his mouth foams. Conker then leaps onto the enemies face, scratching them mercilessly until they succumb out of fear and retina damage. Finally, Conker proceeds to shove entire beer bottles down the opponent's throat, killing them through a combination of internal bleeding from broken glass shards and alcohol poisoning.

Then again, Microsoft doesn't realize that they're sitting on an inebriated landgoldmine that people like me will out and buy no matter what the game.

Kratos is the perfect fit for MK, not sure anyone on Xbox is.
Are you joking? Have you seen Cyrax?

Master Chief could easily fit there
Here's a few I would like to see given their exclusivity, or mostly so, to Microsoft consoles thus far:

They were really thinking about putting Master Chief in the game?

I agree. Would have been pretty... uncanny I guess, to beat master chief to death with his own arms. Doesn't really seem his style.

Does anyone remember DOA4? [a href="http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Nicole-458"]There was a spartan in that[/a], why wouldn't it work here?

Amen to that man.

But I bet Alex Mercer would make a pretty good MK character as well.

ya I totally forgot. shepard (mass effect 2 vanguard style) would have been a great fit too. -- although, the mass effect franchise has branched out now.

Those who suggest Hayabusa seem to forget that he's owned by Team Ninja, not Microsoft.

And I'm with most other people, there isn't really anyone exclusive to Microsoft that could make a decent fit.

At most, DoA just has a person with his/her face or other major appendage smashed into or falling onto a blunt object. People in DoA don't horrifically mutilated. Besides, Nicole just used melee attacks since the game is a weaponless (and projectile-less) fighter. Not to mention the motives behind her inclusion in the first place (somewhat unexpected, I'll tell you that much now).

Could be interesting. Adept, Sentinel, or Vanguard Shepard especially. I'd probably pay for that as DLC.
So would I. That would be amusing, seeing Shepard come into the MK universe.

Like I said, near exclusivity. I know Doom ranks high on that list given Doom 3 was playable on the XBOX and 360.

Still, ID hardly lets its characters be used in crossovers, but seeing Corporal Flynn (Doom) in Mortal Kombat would be epic.

...wouldn't he be too short? How would any move hit him?
He's a squirrel. Everyone else has low kicks.[footnote]That much I actually do know about fighting games, despite still sucking at them.[/footnote] I think it evens out haha!

Plus he has to jump to hit anyone in the chest/face, so there's that, too.
