Also the eyetoy was fun..but shortlived, as, like most motion controllers, just didnt have the accuracy or precision needed to control a more complex game.

It's fine if you only have to point at rough areas of a screen, but it aint pixel perfect, and if you're sniping you need that .

Well, PS3 has sixaxis but everyone hates that.
Flower, flOw ever heard of them? Those games wouldn't be possible without the sixaxis, not not everyone hates it.

On Topic: I see this as a lack of creativity for Microsoft having to copy paste like this. My hopes is they don't go through with this.
How is flow not possible without sixaxis? I have it on PSP.
Okay you got me there flOw is possible without sixaxis but I'm trying to make a point here.

It seems that Xbox has gone unoriginal on us. Remember in the very beginning where they said that the Playstation was just copying the other consoles? Well, look who's copying the other two now?

The listing reads:

Are you interested in shipping innovative games that will change the way people play? If so, we want you to join our team to work on an amazing next-generation project, built from the ground up, in Microsoft Game Studios. We are building a NEW GAME STUDIO from the ground up that will revolutionize both WHAT you play and HOW you play. You have the chance to get in on the ground floor and work with professionals responsible for some of the industry's greatest innovations to date. (Emphasis in the original.)

Umm... yeah I don't think it would remotely qualify as a revolution to implement motion controls. I would think that it would involve something that you wouldn't be able to think of if they can make any claim to originality.

I mean, you are making the claim that because Microsoft is doing something that it is calling revolutionary, it must be motion controls, but ultimately if this development was motion controls, everything Microsoft said there was bull****.
Exactly. Since motion controls have already been done (several times), it's hardly "revolutionizing what and how you play". If that statement isn't an outright lie, then it's got to be something new. Not motion controls.

Motionsensitive controllers is hardly "revolutionizing" anything. If thats what they're bringing to the table, then they've got a long way to go.
Funny thing is, they released motionsensitive controllers in the 90's....they would just need to start producing those old gamepads again...

Hmm, im not betting motion controls. Maybe they are starting work on a new xbox, but hey thats a wild guess with little or no fact behind it.

Yeah same. Only thing is that rumors + recent statements are always linked.

Well, I don't think that this is really news per se: I already saw a story on another site about motion controls quite a while back for both PS3 and 360. So they're both getting a piece of this "fail pie" that people love so much.
You realize the PS3 has had motion control since its release, don't you...

Resisting urge... to smack kitten... for an obvious comment...

Look, I didn't mean the SIXAXIS motion controls. I meant Wii-style motion controls.

Yeesh. Give me a little more credit than that, will ya? :D

(Enter scene, many people sitting at a finely set dinner table eating expensive, but enjoyable, meals)
Microsoft: Hey everyone, I found a new seasoning!
*Slams roadkilled raccoon on the table*
Guests: Wait, didn't that make everyone at the Nintendo and Sony dinner parties sick?
Microsoft: Yes, and that's exactly why we're trying it! We can do it better!

...And scene!

Motion controls suck, they are fun for about 20 min and then i start start to wish i had a normal controller. There are loads of games on the wii for example that would actually work better with a normal controller then the Wii mote.
That's because many games (Super Mario Galaxy, for example) are just Gamecube games. That's all, they just make you wish you were playing them on the Gamecube, so you could play it without the annoying gimmick.

The motion control doesn't actually read your motion, per se, it just registers when you're waggling the Wii remote about like a particularly frustrated wanker, and uses that as a button. Again, I use the example of Galaxy. Doing the spin move could easily be executed by pressing, say, the R button.

The only games that really work well on the Wii are those like Umbrella Chronicles, but I still contest, as I have since 2006, that the only game that truly utilizes the Wii remote well is Wario Ware Smooth Moves. Most other games are a waggle-fest.

I wish that instead of taking the Wii and PS3's already used stuff, Microsoft would come up with something new and innovative that would put them a head above the other two, instead of just trying to stay at the same level... although that could be what they are doing...

Motion sensitive controls... how innovative. [/sarcasm]

But in all seriousness, the Wii-mote controls come across as gimmicky, forcing gameplay mechanics into a game that doesn't really need them. That's something that the PS3 didn't do when it came to the Six-Axis thing - yeah, it has the option, but I've not played many games that use it at all. I get the feeling if Microsoft do use it, it'd be a mandatory part of the gamplay.
I hope they prove me wrong...

My bet is still on gesture sensitive controlls, with no controllers at all.
