Seriously, I've never played X-COM but trailer makes the game look like shit. Does it even have any enemies other than blobs of nondescript black goo?teh_pwning_dude said:I've never player or had any interest in an X-Com game before.
Judging from that trailer, this will continue. Looks like shit.
First off, it doesn't take Valve over hundreds of dollars to port a more-than-a-decade-old game to Steam. Second; there is a thriving group of strategy games out there. It's just that the majority of gamers as a whole don't play strategy games. Third; Civilization doesn't count because I specifically said a game with aliens. Aliens have become a cliche to the American public (y'know, THE market for video games) and mixing that subject matter with slow gameplay where you have to actually THINK doesn't scream "Hey! You'll love this game!" to most video game players.The_root_of_all_evil said:Damn, Steam must be losing money on these re-releases then:V8 Ninja said:Let's think about this for a second guys; would a turn-based strategy game involving aliens EVER sell a good amount of copies (more than half-a-million) in today's market? Of course not.

And especially that forthcoming release...what was it? Civilisation V?
There also are no "e" in grammar.V8 Ninja said:First off, it doesn't take Valve over hundreds of dollars to port a more-than-a-decade-old game to Steam. P.S. Remember that there's no "s" in Civilization. (V8 Ninja is being a grammer Nazi.)
And see Colonisation, and a Mr. Noah Webster on why it's Civilisation to some of us.teh_gunslinger said:There also are no "e" in grammar.V8 Ninja said:P.S. Remember that there's no "s" in Civilization. (V8 Ninja is being a grammer Nazi.)
So, what you're saying is the American public doesn't like to think?Aliens have become a cliche to the American public

That icon...Mattel... very nice.Antari said:The bastardization of my beloved X-Com is complete. It wasn't bad enough they made 4 follow up's that failed for the most part except for maybe #2. The wounds were just healing, now they go to open it up again. This time with the salt of FPS. Just listen for the loud scream of pain on release day, that will be me.
