Wow, without the dangerous fauna, boiling sun, video game bannings and other stuff, sounds good. Hopefully Yahtzee could come to New Zealand one day... -sigh-

OT: Sounds good. I'm no where near the drinking age and I hate the smell and taste of beer so... best of luck! Make sure the Jackjumpers don't bite you! A cookie for who knows what I mean

Oh dear, that place is going to get spammed down with customers who come to see some legendary media-figures. With good reason.

I'm so sad now, living far away. Ah well, yet another reason to go to Australia. Hope it's still there when I have the money!

While the idea is interesting, I'm slightly concerned. Then again it was just a quick overview.

Obviously its great to have fun and play on the consoles and stuff, I'm sure it'll be a great time. Some of the best nights are where friends have come around and we've played Guitar Hero or Smash Bros. Brawl or similar.

I'm not too concerned about behaviour, most gamers will stay sober enough to play effectively and well that's what's also concerning. Free Entry, Drinks, etc. But I dunno I don't think you'll be selling large volumes of alcohol.

Oh well hopefully you guys rent out the console stations or something. That way there's a little insurance and you have somebody to bill when something gets broken.

Sounds like I need to get my RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol certification) and apply. Either way being a Brisbanite I'll be looking forward to visiting sometime this year.

That looks really cool and it is an interesting idea. Tough i doubt that I'll never be able to check it up, living in Estonia. Too bad ..

Unless...

The only hope of ever going into such an establishment is that Yahtzee creates his very own chain of such bars all across the world.
you know that being co-owned by Yhatzee will force them to expand

Sounds cool: yes.
Original: meh.

It's a free arcade with alcohol. I hope it goes well for him but it just seems plain.

This is ironic because i read an article in one of my xbox mags that had a list of cocktails named after games, such as "Flaming Hunter" "Poison Arrow" and "Boomer Bile"

awesome. to bad I don't live in Australia and have no plan of going there(all my family lives in America and I don't have a passport). but if he doesn't have things like "boomer bile" from L4D 1 and 2 or plasmids from Bioshock I will be mad.

This, is made of win.

Infact, for once I am sad I don't live in Australia.
This is an amazing idea, I am a PC person, but when you have some mates over a console is the best.

If only places like this exist in.. Well anywhere around here actually.
Sure there are LAN cafe's.. But, eh, you could have just stayed home on your own computer playing Call of Duty or whatever the devil people in LAN bars play.

If it's open to the public, I hope they hire some good bouncers.

I hate to be a naysayer, but I've seen some guys get crazed with anger and frustration playing video games. Add alcohol to the mix, and you've got a recipe for disaster, not to mention a lot of broken controllers. (Maybe they should make it a BYOC establishment?)

Also, I suggest they put the flat screens behind some kind of protective window, particularly if they decide to have Nintendo Wiis. ;)

I'm hoping Yahtzee's characteristic cynicism will help the establishment sidestep some of the pitfalls associated with opening this kind of business venture. Still, I have to admire his intentions; creating a place where gamers can be treated like adults is definitely a worthwhile objective. I wish him and his compatriots the best of luck.
