The video game soc at my uni does this sort of thing once a month in our student union bar. They set up a projector with a wii and play mario cart, ssbb and guitar hero but without the custom cocktails and all that.

The Mana Bar should be made into a global franchise, then we can have it here in the UK, and I can go there instead of being dragged to all the 'popular' clubs on student nights.

I would love to check out the Mana Bar. It might be worth 22 hours on a plane.
Exactly my thinking

I love the name.
Your Avatar is hypnotizing.
I believe the term you are looking for is:

"ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNO TOAD!"
Futurama isn't even that funn - ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

If the video game regulations weren't crap, I'd move to Australia just to become a regular at that bar. Hopefully the R18+ discussion paper will force Atkinson's hand...

Countdown until Michael Atkinson tries to ban it in 5...4...3...2...

Mick Atkinson said:
"This is bloody outrageous mate. It's just encouraging children to drink, and will turn them into violent, drunken criminals by crikey."
But hopefully because it's on government property (which apparently is really difficult to get a lease for) it mean that not everyone in Australian government is as crazy as Atkinson or shares his views that games are toys for children.

Current chance of me moving to Australia.

Family living there: +30%
Internet and game censorship: -20%
Climate: -5%
Awesomeness: +20%
Having passport: +10%
Monies: -10%
Mana bar: +10%

TOTAL: 35% chance of Ultracake going to live in Australia

Probably won't turn out as planned. Why? Because of Micheal "FUCKING" Atkinson!!! Who belives all videogames and computergames are evil soul sucking devices made by Satan. Best of luck to Yahtzee and his friends though.

And now my next vacation destination is Aussieland. What's the drinking age over there?

18!?!?

Fuck, you guys get to buy booze three whole years before we do! And they say there's no good things about Australia... well, at least if I ever DO go there, I'll be able to swing on by and have a few whatever-floats-my-boats.

In the best case scenario, it'd become some kind of beatnik revolutionary location where great games are conceived by some of the finest patrons in the gaming world.

More likely scenario, it'll be a humdrum establishment cursed with Yahtzee's friends having to shoe fanboys out of the floorboards with a broom every day at closing time.

Sounds awesome, but I fear that the Recession and Michael Atkinson are going to see this closed down in a few years.

A bar for gamers? In Fortitude Valley?
I'm there, but why does this image keep flashing in my mind?

Well, now I want to live in Australia. The closest thing you get here is an internet cafe. Wahoo?
Think your self lucky down where i live we have only 2 of those which are on the side of a computer shop and they dont advertise that they have an internet cafe at all.

Sounds like fun could get full real quick though make sure you pre order your night in the mana bar :p
