I believe it was Aizen that said: "Worship is the farthest thing from understanding". I get why Yahtzee (Ben) doesn't get why these people are so devoted to him. But then again I guess that's the price of being an internet celebrity.

I think those tattoos aren't worth it in the end. I have T-shirts, just for the funny ZP images on them, but I wouldn't scar my body forever. And yes, people walking up to you, fans acting like they know everything about you is creepy. But really, all they know is your image. They know nothing of the real person inside.

Video game tat's in general are very strange.
Really? I think they're cool, if you choose them right. I know someone who has Knuckles tattooed on her shoulder.

It must be very hard having fans who come up to you like they know you. Especially when you have no idea who the hell they are.

A Zero Punctuationp tattoo? That's just weird.
I don't think I could ever be the kind of mega-fan that'd stop someone in the street and act like I've known them forever. I'm more the kind of "Hey, you're that guy aren't you? I like your work, keep it up." The other stuff sounds really annoying.

Poor little Yahtzee.

People confuse me, too. I don't blame him for being a little inappropriate. His nice-ness doesn't make a difference to how funny he is. XD

Nah I still think he's a jerk, but I wouldn't have him any other way.
I can understand his feelings regarding fandom. Some people are crazy.

It's okay. He baffles us too.

I for one can't understand how he hates Quick Time Events and Tedium yet liked No More Heroes.
I like it when he tears apart a good game, I just hate it when he praises a terrible one.

A lot of musicians talk about that sort of thing, actually, when they're first starting out. People come up to you, call you by your first name, ask for an autograph, etc. and it can really put you off if it's not constantly the first thing in the front of your mind.

Yahtzee is just experiencing the unsettling sensation of being greeted by people he doesn't know, it's like if someone you've never met before comes up and starts talking to you about your private life...kinda

No one is really a "jerk". That's just an easy way to categorize people who don't react the way you want them to leading in a series of disastrous interpersonal reactions that makes you dislike them.

Oh, except for the very small percentage of Saddistic people which Yahtzee obviously isn't because he chooses to produce his show. People who produce stuff like that most often are doing it for the attention and how it makes them feel. Money is nice too of course.

I think I might have had too much education.

When I first started watching his videos, I thought he was really horrible. but... *tears up* I've grown to love him and sit outside his tree at night.

Anyway. Yeah, I can tell he's a genuinely nice enough person, his 'jerk' side is all for show if you ask me.

I just realised: That's the first issue of the escapist magazine I've actually read.

I don't own ZP merchandise, either.
I'm like a freeloading hobo to the Escapist.

Plus, if he openly dislikes his fans then what would be the point to clinging to him with as much strength as, say... a crazy ex?

But anyway, I suppose he's a decent person.

He's probably as much of a jerk to random people as I am, totally understandable, but fans do get over enthusiastic and I'm sure given the chance I'd want to at least say 'hi, and like the videos' but above that indeed I know nothing about him and wouldn't want to push the impression otherwise, thats just creepy. o_O

Im extremely standoffish with people I don't know well, So I guess I can understand... but when you garner that kind of attention you're going to get shoved into some circumstances that are a bit awkward...

ZP tattoo though, ahahaa.

I've been in bands, I currently work in Television, and I've had people recognize me all the time, and I've even signed autographs. I would never, ever say "I just don't get fans", because whatever these peoples motivations are for loving you, they just do, and if you put yourself out there it's just something you have to deal with. A better response would have been "I appreciate people taking time out of their day to view my work, thank you all for supporting me!".

In a fan-centric business, be it wrestling or internet videos, it's very important to make sure the fans know you appreciate them, or else they ain't coming back, and you have less butts in seats. Not hatin on Yahtzee, just sayin', it's kind of a bumbling response when he could have taken that time to thank the people that got him where he is today.

Ride the wave and be happy for what you got, Mr. Croshaw, there's a lot of people who would kill to be in your position, and it most certainly won't last forever. But, as a fan of yours, I hope it does.
