The problem here is though that the bar has been set.

Is this going to become a regular thing?
Will this be regular occurrence in ZP? I don't think so there aren't that many games that share the same level of rivalry as inFamous and Prototype. So I dough Yahtzee will hold such a competition again.

that is just wrong so very very wrong but funny but i have to think that you have made the right decision the infamous team although had the upper hand with the fact that unlike Cole the dude from Prototype can change his FUCKING shape they're fore i believe that this would ahve been an unfair right between the two teams

If he can convince game developers to do this, what else could he do?
Pretty sure this has more to do with both developers having great senses of humor than with Yahtzee's overwhelming persuasive power. :)

Persuasive power. Think about it. InFamous and Prototype were released to coincide because they were de-facto 'rival games'. Hence Prototype being so unpolished and lacklustre.
Point is, this could have been another opportunity to gain a really weird upper hand..

And Yahtzee has admitted that Steam sales figures for Painkiller peaked after his review. So..I'm not sure where I'm going with this..><

Absolute, undeniable, Grade A, Over 9000 internets of win.
I could not agree more, this is sheer brilliance and InFamous is the rightious winner. The cheeky face Alex had did it. I can't believe they actually did this, it's fantastic. I now need a PS3 with InFamous.

Yahtzee, you are an opinionated force to be reckoned with in the gaming industry.

oh god, yahtzee, i'm so glad you did this right now

on a note, is it just me who thought that prototypes devs made something more disturbing, and infamous devs made something more attractive?
I think they were competing for 2 different things entirely. Prototype went for humor, making a pale, flabby, and horrifically exposed Cole, while inFamous went for a teasingly cute hermaphroditic Alex...with male face intact.
Prototype played fair, making a piece that's a hilarious slap in the face to their rivals, but inFamous played dirty and smart...they know gamers are suckers for sex appeal.

I surprised they not only actually made the pictures but that they actually watched your review and took it seriously. 'Oh not that guy with a hat reviewed us and couldn't decided if we were better than that other game, lets pander to his desire to get a non existent prize.' Seriously I doubt Zero Punctuation actually helps or hinders anyone's games sales, other than a few people who were curious, like I bought Saints Row, because he said it was so much better than GTA, and it was but never mind. Zero Punctuation to me has always been a humorous little someone showing one mans opinions regarding the games he plays and it certainly gets this site more traffic, but I've never considered them to be serious review that would actually mean anything. He's like the AVGN or TGWTG, entertainers who enjoy ragging on something or other but who's opinions don't really affect the industry in which they review.
You keep contradicting yourself it's not even funny.
Seriously, just stop being contentious and admit you love him just the same.

Let's all give 'em a big round of applause for being such great sports and playing along then!

wait this actually HAPPENED? cor!

it is nice to see designers taking this much interest.
though i still think Prototype is better, simply because it's the only on i've played
...no, that means that inFAMOUS is still the better game, as you have no reason to doubt his opinion.

Okay people, if you haven't played both, you can't disagree with him. I haven't played both, but seeing as I agree with him, thats alright.
no my opinion must be right due to my ignorance!

That was... disturbing... creepy... and epic. Good show from both companies for actually doing this, gives everyone a good laugh. I agree with Yahtzee on the winning pick. I'm not too amazed that they did it, I can imagine a group of creative games designers looking at this on the internet, getting in touch with their rivals and then deciding "what the hell, lets do this."
